  1. LOL. Good deal. With emulators its good to test in debug mode as it gives the same results. MAME doesn't allow this so taking the steps u just did will help. Glad you got it sorted out. Enjoy! Marking as [RESOLVED]!
  2. Please troubleshoot by following the steps in 4B found here. This will show you the command-line that is running MAME and will give us some useful information. Then please paste the information here in the forums.
  3. Thanks for all your hard work Tom!
  4. Thanks Tom!
  5. Happy Birthday Circo! Thanks for all you do for the emulation community. I hope you have a wonderful day!
  6. Thanks again Tom!
  7. Thanks Tom!
  8. Fruit Machine's are supported. For command-line settings, just import one of the configs included with GameEx to get an idea of how they are ran. Then we can go from there. Depends on which particular you wanna run.
  9. There is no attached image.
  10. No problem! Marking as [RESOLVED].
  11. If it's a stand-alone emulator then this option is found in Emulator Setup and the setting is called Excluded Files. For MAME this option is found in Advanced MAME Settings and the setting is called Excluded ROMs. These locations are based on using Setup Wizard.
  12. LOL. Glad you got it sorted out. Depends on where I have to fly. Although getting me to remote support would save you lots of money. Well map files are generated by GameEx and are the cached way of reading the list instead of reading the directory every time. Now for other systems like Arcade systems, these files are used to pass the friendly name to the list instead of the rom name (i.e. DOA would list as Dead or Alive). Since all users may not have all the roms, the map files provided are just to use as a start off point. The best way is to create your own based off your own roms.
  13. Determine the emulator number in setup and then navigate to the DATA directory of your GameEx install. From there delete the EMU_#.map (# being the number of the emulator in setup) files and the lists will be rebuilt in GameEx.
  14. Nice! Hope he learned his lesson!
  15. It's called Download Service Utility. But it's found under Download Artwork and Videos under the Start menu in the GameEx folder.
  16. It will do it's best to merge by the name. It should do it pretty well.
  17. Tom created an app to download artwork from Emumovies and it will handle the naming for you. It's the best solution IMO. It's included with GameEx.
  18. Taken from the mame source docs: So if that's not the case then I don't have another clue as to why it's not working. We could try troubleshooting together if you want. Meet me in the chat room for real-time support.
  19. Well since you're using a mame.ini config file then there is no need to have those options as well in the command-line options since they are already being called. So you can get rid of those settings to clean things up a bit. However, that shouldn't cause conflict. Your settings appear to be fine and should work. The only thing I could think of is if you have 2 mame.ini files and they are conflicting. I've seen this happen while troubleshooting when using mame32/mameui. Not sure if your using that version. But according to your rom path I would think so. Check to see if you have another mame.ini file in your cfg directory (this is by memory so could be another directory) of your mame setup. Please report back!
  20. The Command-line is fine and tested on my machine. So that works fine. The log posts that it's closing the advanced config so I gotta assume that's working ok. Maybe it wasn't you, perhaps another use who I was giving remote support to. If so then my mistake. I thought it was you. If not, when you click on the links from the start menu to GameEx, they are broken so that's why I thought maybe GameEx was installed somewhere where it could be giving problems. It has to be something in your setup that's conflicting at this point as I don't know what else it could be other than you not using the correct version which I thought you said you were. I guess we can try together again at some point to figure it out. Let me know!
  21. Quote from Setup Wizard: So AdvanceMAME and Advanced MAME settings are different options. I think that confuses users IMO. As far as the switch that Adultery suggested, that's the one that tells MAME not to keep aspect ratio. If for some reason that isn't working for you then perhaps another setting is conflicting with it. Please post your MAME options line or mame.ini file if you use one so that we can see how your MAME settings are set.
  22. Yes I paid! LOL. I was a KJ here at my local bar. Hence where the my name derived from! There's a few of us karaoke users here in the forums that have a nice collection. I use a paid renamer, song book generator, player, and the music of course. There's a decent namer out there that's free but it generates it's list from one of the paid databases so a bulk renaming utility is your best bet at this time.
  23. As far as freeware then I would recommend a renaming utility. Maybe Bulk Rename Utility. Other than that I never really found anything to my liking which is why I use paid software for all my karaoke needs.
  24. My MAME database is 5.81MB. Maybe try reinstalling the databases. MAME is useful for arcade emulators that share the same rom names for Arcade systems setup as stand-alone emulators.
