To the land of IGBOTY, a world of intense action and fierce competition. Now back home he can relax a bit. Or can he? >:]

Yeah, nice showing at the IGBOTY .

  2. Tetris the Grand Master? Well don't consider me one! I haven't played this in years! I'm just glad I was able to run this one on my newer hardware. It uses the ZN-2 arcade system which is PlayStation based, so I'm guessing this game did eventually get a PS1 release. But it also won't run well on slower machines. Interesting to note how someone who doesn't get a top spot in many games has it here so far. This just might be your month, but of course I'll put a good effort in. After a few plays and getting used to the scoring, I was happy to make it past level 200 for the first time here. ExedExes - 10,560
  3. My experience for this game comes from Super Ghouls N Ghosts (SNES & Game Boy Advance), a totally different game, not nearly as brutal as this, but lots of the same gameplay elements. First 2 stages no problem. 3rd stage, yeah. ExedExes - 35,600
  4. All this talk about this game again had me go back to it. ExedExes - 658,350
  5. This was a good tournament. Thanks to those at RU that put it together, and hell of an effort by all of us here at GameEx. Despite our best efforts, we could not get out of last place. Just goes to show that there are a whole mess of players better than us out there. I don't think many of us are as competition-minded as the other sites who participated, I am competitive by nature so of course I put my best efforts forward, but I like the laid-backness that GameEx is too. Now that I'm back at *home* here, I've got to get back to work!!!!
  6. One more score to end the month out with - ExedExes - 321,300
  7. My last few fast scores, I think I put in quite a bit for the team here and it looks like our last place is not going to improve even with nearly all the slots filled. Moon Patrol - 87,550 New Rally X - 188,130 Road Fighter - 227,950
  8. A few more fast scores - Bank Panic - 550,900 Bomb Jack - 393,330 Do Run Run! - 118,810
  9. 19GameEXX - The War Against Scoreboards

  10. All right, so I felt some scores needed to be taken care of and elevated even higher Scattershotgun Scores - Part 7 19XX - 3,743,600 Pooyan - 239,150 Sonic Wings - 388,100 Splatterhouse - 80,600 This will be all for a few days -- seeing that "Top Players By Score" chart is making me dizzy, all the positions I keep going up (and down)
  11. I imported the PAL version of Shenmue II on the DC because Microsoft snatched up the exclusivity rights to have the only US port on the original Xbox. That ends on a cliffhanger too, but I love the Sega classics you can play on them.
  12. Nice to be reminded that in the world of shmups, there's always someone better than you out there.

  13. Cool topic. I had to think about these for a while, but here they are in no particular order. 1. Exed Exes (Arcade) - it's my name, so it has to be a favorite. An early shmup from Capcom in 1985. 2. The Guardian Legend (NES) - Part shmup, part Zelda-style exploration from Compile. 3. Solaris (Atari 2600) - Expansive in scope and some of the best graphics on the system. Of course it's a shmup! 4. Shenmue (Dreamcast) - Hardly a game quite like it with so many things to see and do. 5. Deus Ex (PC) - A masterful combination of FPS and RPG elements, with a great story. 6. Axelay (SNES) - My all time favorite shmup on the system. 7. Warioware Twisted! (Game Boy Advance) - Microgames (less than 10 seconds each) and the motion controls are amazing. 8. Seaquest (Atari 2600) - My favorite Activision release on the 2600. 9. Sonic CD (Sega CD) - The best Sonic, in my opinion. 10. Black Knight 2000 (Pinball) - Out of all I've played, there's just something about this one. I'm glad it made it to The Pinball Arcade mobile app, got a good score (top 10) on the last mobile tournament!
  14. Last round of scores for this week. Let's get out of last place already! Scattershotgun Scores - Part 6 Bubbles - 120,880 Frogger - 15,420 Kung Fu Master - 172,900 Superspacefortress Macross - 944,300 Pinball Action - 514,010 Raiden - 364,580 Magic Sword - 300,886
  15. Great job filling in the empty score slots GameEx! Here's the latest round of improvements. Scattershotgun Scores - Part 5 Do! Run Run now with 5 lives, that's what we agreed upon correct? If not, keep my previous score with 3 lives - 82,990 Bubbles - 112,450 Burnin Rubber - 158,812 Elevator Action - 29,250 Pepper II - 161,570 Road Fighter - 161,480 I'll have more tomorrow!
  16. Great tournament so far. Loving Pepper II!

  17. I checked my settings, and you're right. The previous 243,000 score I posted was played on difficulty 3. I saw on the first post that nothing had to be changed, and I went with it. Little did I realize how persnickety those Williams games can be since there's no physical dips, you gotta hit F2 to check all the settings. I'd make sure everyone here has checked their settings too. Therefore, I have a new score at the correct difficulty, level 5. I did not really feel it was any harder, though. ExedExes - 256,100
  18. NEVER! It's what keeps this competition strong. ExedExes - 500,800
  19. ExedExes - 145,050
  20. My Do Run Run! score was with 3 lives. If we're gonna play with 5, I'll submit a new score before the month is up. Anyways, here are the last few scores, this completes all that I'm going to play. The next scores I post will be improvements to previous scores, and I have a few of them here too. Scattershotgun Scores - Part 4 Anteater - 113,230 Bank Panic - 476,550 Nitroball - 6,798,830 Bomb Jack - 339,480 Mr. Do! - 115,900 (got the diamond here too, with a chance at ANOTHER!) Updates to previous scores - Moon Patrol - 84,450 Pooyan - 146,050 Pepper II - 132,360
  21. Almost done with these games. 4 to go! Scattershotgun Scores - Part 3 Do Run Run! - 64,610 Kung Fu Master - 150,130 Superdimensional Fortress Macross - 717,000 Sonic Wings - 365,300 Splatterhouse - 47,400
  22. New scores to further our cause on the IGBOTY!

    2. DazzleHP

      DazzleHP

      Amen to that!

  23. A new round of scores! I see we have many games that have 2-4 scores, let's try to get them filled in team! Also, my score for Frogger is not showing up on the top 5 section of the scoreboard, even though I submitted it. The rest of my scores look fine. Scattershotgun Scores Part 3 - Magic Sword - 224,188 Pepper II - 37,490 Pinball Action - 275,220 (I had trouble entering initials, but this is my score) Pooyan - 114,150 Raiden - 276,440
  24. Not anymore. 6 days in and it's going to be a crazy month. ExedExes - 243,000
  25. Not good for GameEx. I'll continue to help. Scattershotgun Scores Part 2 - Bubbles - 68,300 Burnin Rubber - 104,076 Elevator Action - 20,100
