ExedExes

We played this in our "Together Retro" club over on Racketboy for February 2013, and I never seen a game that demanded as much precision as this. I played this a few times to get used to it again, then it all exploded. Somehow I made items appear in one stage and got a huge bonus for collecting all of them, then I found a secret room with 10K items all over, and spelled EXTEND and got as far as I ever did at this game. Sometimes it's being at the right place at the right time. This score probably won't stand forever, but I for one am proud. ExedExes - 1,078,850

It's not gonna be me this month. I really wanted to make it 2 in a row. Too much activity in Stage 4, and I'd have to figure out the boss and for that, I'd need more time. It was a departure from what most would consider "classics", however. ExedExes - 96,400

Almost forgot about this one. That boss in Stage 3 will take all your lives away as you figure out what to do. ExedExes - 62,000

I'm getting there -- REALLY wish I could see the 3rd coin phase though! I'm guessing that's around 13 or 14 then? ExedExes - 109,220

I love this game, but too bad this is another weak one for me, the difficulty just gets cranked up starting on the 3rd set of rounds here. If you put me in front of this on the 2600 though, you guessed it, I could go much farther! ExedExes - 31,265

Joust! Another one I adored on the 2600. Pretty good port considering what little they had to work with graphically. I realized this game saves old scores too when you reset -- everything under this new one starting with 66K came from years of previous play. However, a fresh new score now that I got my stick working again. ExedExes - 105,000 (I wanted over 105K and losing lives gets you 50 pts. So 104,950 and death made it pretty perfect!)

Gah! Competition heating up here. Hopefully this is good for a while. ExedExes - 412,130

Oh how I wish I could be the best of the best here, because I play this game not only in MAME, but for real many many times (and just got the diamond and free game a few months back for the first time!) But, this is a good effort. Playing it on Medium sure feels different. ExedExes - 92,000

That score from Helpman is good (and a bit scary being so close to mine!) Needs padding. ExedExes - 297,750

I like to think I had something to do with it, but when it comes to Time Pilot, it's a bit of pride for me because I thought I knew and got as far as one could on that game. Stage 16 is the start of the 4th loop! That score will be safe for now. How long, who knows?

Knocking off this one next. Man, the NES port is easier than this. ExedExes - 43,650

Out of all the scores KRC posted during his hiscore-athon last night, there was one I figured I could beat with a little more effort (Time Pilot might have to wait a bit, I never made it to the fourth loop in that game!) So here it be! ExedExes - 262,700

I must have lit some sort of proverbial fire under KRC. Near 3000 posts here with not much scoreboard activity until I started playing, and now just starting to threaten my once-dominant performance! It was fun to be #1 while it lasted, right?

I didn't even see this game on the forum. Therefore, I had to play it. While I prefer (and am better at) Millipede, there's a certain sort of simplicity that I appreciate about this. Now, for a score that would have been first before KRC's Saturday Night Beast Mode (to recover some leaderboard points from that) - ExedExes - 39,024 and I know I could possibly do even better at this!

From the folks that brought us Cabal! I used to tool around this game just for survival, not so much for score. I'd usually make it to 3-1, and I still can it seems. ExedExes - 386,900

Mario Bros. I played the Atari 2600 port more than this. But, a respectable score. ExedExes - 73,280 (note, there is a score of 81K, but that one I used in a short-lived MAME score thread over on the Racketboy forums. This game remembers old scores well! 73,280 is what I got today.)

DK 3 -- I can play this rather endlessly on the NES, but that's about it. Here's the best of what I got after a few plays. ExedExes - 85,900

Such great scores for DK Jr. Another game I enjoy, but not really great at. ExedExes - 22,700

Donkey Kong. A game I'll admit is fun to play, a true classic.... BUT not one I'm in for the long haul. Those who have great scores, I salute you, if only for the fact that this game gets so unpredictable. Therefore, here's my simple entry onto the board. ExedExes - 29,300

I'm gonna let you all in on a little secret. Blazing Star was our Shmup of the Month in January over on the Racketboy forums. It had one of the largest turnouts (as far as particpants) in its 2-year history. That being said, scores were fiercely competitive. The following new score I'm submitting is not even close to what our highest scorer got. That being said, I did better than what I managed over there. ExedExes - 7,032,540
