  1. Don't forget how much I enjoy this game too. ExedExes - 458,300 Hope springs eternal.
  2. I'm not dead! ExedExes - 115,250 Remember when I only needed half this score to stay #1 for months? Yeah, me too.
  3. If our leader can make tiny adjustments to increase score, so can I. In fact, I discovered I've not been playing this to my fullest potential until now (but a lot of it is the luck in the location of the holes in each stage too) ExedExes - 97,900
  4. That's awesome to see others trying it out already. It's just so amazing how pretty much any audio (over 1:30) will work with this. I love the random boss battles too, and there's really no limit to how many levels you can actually play.
  5. YEAH! ExedExes - 72,000
  6. I downloaded Symphony from GOG.com this week, I wanted it for a while and it was on sale for 75% off! Each "level" is generated by music files on your computer (and not just MP3s either, I found out, it accepts a few extra formats) and the enemies are dynamically generated by the music, and the more intense the music is, the harder the enemies will be. After every stage, you unlock a new weapon to purchase, and you have 4 "guns" on your ship to assign them to (or you can upgrade a current weapon). One in a while one of the "demons" in the game will challenge you to a boss battle as you're playing, and defeating them gets you a piece to a song that will "liberate your music" from its evil control. It's no bullet hell, it's more of like an old school style presentation with really nice looking vector style graphics, but there are features such as chain scoring, online leaderboards, achievements, and most of the modern amenities that newer games have. $10 on your digital download service of choice or at www.symphonygame.com, highly recommended!
  7. With the good I felt @ DoDonPachi, I came back to this one. ExedExes - 283,900
  8. I bothered. ExedExes - 358,100
  9. So I made 2 attempts to play this. I went back to C-L to try that combination again, got 17 million. Read up and figured out how to chain again. Back to A-L and back to form. ExedExes - 21,837,530
  10. Playing an awesome indie shmup -- Symphony! www.symphonygame.com

      Looks cool.

  11. Respect with that latest score. This kid's got potential. This game is important to me, because I've been playing this & Bank Panic for 15 years. These 2 games I've put the most heart and soul and blood/sweat into since the month began. I would love to get this title. Not to say I am giving up, not by far, but I remember KRC and Hammerin Harry as well as the fierce competition we had in Golden Axe. There are just people better than me at the games I love, and to motivate all of you into doing better, that is my goal. I like the new title on my name here too -- Supporting Member has a ring to it!
  12. The force is strong with the yung-jedi in Anteater.

  13. Heck, even I enjoyed it, and I was brought up on survival style shmups, where the bullets were manageable and the whole ship was your hitbox. Now we get all sorts of crazy scoring mechanics, pixel wide safe zones, grazing, and all that good stuff. I just loved entering Double Break Mode, and the screen covered in gold stars, green multipliers and pink lock on shots.
  14. I enjoy the friendly fire too. But, you may or may not enjoy this (sorry!) ExedExes - 76,925
  15. Ahhhhhhhhhhh, looks like this month won't be a one score and done like Toobin' and Bomb Jack were. Fine, then! Time to EARN this month's title. ExedExes - 57,060
  16. Or 3rd, in this case. People are coming out to play! It's as if you know. Great scores by all, but I need to get back up! (by the way, it was only one score that got me to 182K. The other score was so that I could get the list back for a snapshot.) ExedExes - 273,000
  17. Rusty is the word, yes. After coming off such a high in GC's shmup tour (which led me here), this will have to do for now. ExedExes - 11,595,140
  18. Crimzon Clover? Yeah, I got a bit of experience with it. In fact, I have it. (pic below) It was our shmup of the month last April (2013) on the Racketboy forums. We were able to get a volume discount with Rancor, who is well known as a distributor of Japanese shmups. He shipped a ton of copies to us here direct from Japan and we saved a little bit of money. He still has some copies I believe, over here Now, I haven't played the game in a while, but I'll also include some of my old scores below.
  19. Another early MAME classic for me, around the same time as Anteater! I know a little bit about this game. ExedExes - 182,600 NOTE: You MUST take the screenshot during name entry. The high-score list does NOT appear again during the attract mode. I had to start the game up again and put in another score just so I could do this right.
  20. It was for the few days I was there, but I respectfully ask for my position back now. ExedExes - 69,225
  21. I'll get the party started. Anteater was one of the first games I ever played in MAME over 15 years ago. So, I'm a bit good at it. This score won't probably stand for long with the new people around here, but something to shoot for. ExedExes - 37,560
  22. So I think I got this game figured out. Not completely, but enough to play a bit more competently. Split Qix and 3x multiplier this time! ExedExes - 70,288
  23. So 1944 is a thing again? OK! ExedExes - 2,325,810
  24. Dang, tired of being near the bottom of this. So, some improvement - I finally got to see the cement factory. ExedExes - 43,400
