    amp board?

I'm just talking to myself...I get it from Tom. I posted over at KLOV, asking for help on the convergence of my Tempest monitor at 2:25. At 2:40, someone replied "you just need the Wells-Gardner G6100 manual, give me your address, and I'll mail you one." Wow! You guys are good, but nobody has offered to mail me a computer that will run Zinc at full speed!
  2. Watch out guys...Tom is starting to talk to himself! (yeah, I know...)
  3. How about a contest for the best idea for a contest? Two birds...one stone. Always thinking ahead....
  4. Yeah, I like it! For some reason it's not in the plugin section, I guess technically it's not a plugin, but I think alot of people miss it since it's not mentioned there. I'm not even sure if there's a link to it on the Gameex site, but there should be. Other software...If you had lighted buttons, or a betabrite, there is the LCD/LED plugin, Check out this thread: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=5174 BTW: AFAIK there is no no mention of this in the plugin section either Other than that, it just depends on what you want to do, and your interests. Let's make a challenge out of it. What Do you want Gameex to do?
  5. I Googled "Exception occurred in module ntdll.dll", and found this: It didn't have anything to do with Gameex, or FBE, but I thought it might help. I figured it was possible that you would have FBE in more than one directory while testing. I hope this helps!
  6. Oh, I see what you are saying. Tom will send you a small program that makes a registry entry, so if you have a thumb drive or other option to tranfer files between computers, you can do it that way, and you can put your game computer back in your cab. If not, you'll have to wait. So far as the video goes, you might be looking for Startback.png, or bak.png (or you might not!) Look in: C:\Program Files\GameEx\THEMES\Your theme name here\MEDIA, and see if the file your looking for is in there. Obviously, you have to know what theme you are using to do this. If it's there, just replace it with the file you want to use (keeping the name the same as the one you replace of course).
  7. 1. Not sure what you mean, but if you go online, and donate, it will remove the nag screen. 2. Circo has just completed the full mame video set, and is available at emumovies.com 3. I'm not sure!
  8. options... 1.You can rename your roms to match the Map file, this can be done using the appropriate dat, and a program like Romcenter, or Clearmamepro. Most people like the No-intro dats, google it! But if you have to rename your roms anyway... 2.Adultery started a thread with dats for cabinets here: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=5071 If you use these, it will only leave the one best game, and you won't need a map file. 3. Depending on what your romnames look like, You may be able to sort the ones you want out by *(u)* for U.S. or whatever region you are looking for, but the dat files may be best, because they will include a rom from Europe (E) if there wasn't one made for the U.S. (U) I hope that makes sense. I hope this helps, because it seems confusing to me!
  9. Muzzy, Sorry...You can download the MSVCR70.dll file from here: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/pop.php?msvcr70 You should unzip it, and put it in your windows/system32 directory. 99%sure this is right!
  10. I've got time, so I'm taking stabs at everything that moves... I don't use the CD Ripper, but you may have to download CD Ripper application from the Gameex website, and install it. It may not be included in the Gameex download. I know that the manual viewer works in this way. Or maybe you did that, and have a problem anyway? Edit: I'm sorry, I just checked, and it doesn't look like you can rip CD's from within Gameex. (or maybe you can) If you are just trying to run the CD ripper seperately, ignore this whole post. You fooled me by posting in the Gameex forum.
  11. It may be a little bit late to ask, but can you run a game in FBE without Gameex?
  12. in your emulator configuration, there is a place to choose "Map File" Browse to: C:\Program Files\GameEx\MAP FILES And select the map file you want to use. There is a little quirk in Gameex, After you select the file it wil show nameofmapfile.map, delete the .map extension so that it reads nameofmapfile. Gameex adds the extension on, and if you don't delete it it will be nameofmapfile.map.map
  13. (Getting caught up today....)
  14. Brian, The title of this topic suggests a contest... Want to Register GameEx...how many pounds? Guess Tom's weight, get a free registration!
  15. scranusesscrunya, Did you ever get any of this working? Bkenobi wasn't blowing you off, We'll help, but you are asking for alot in one thread, and if 9 problems get fixed in a thread called "9 questions to test your knowledge", it makes it hard for other people to find answers later. Questions like "Project Tempest - Huh?" are especially difficult to answer.... If you are still having problems, start a new topic for each emulator. For the emulators like PJ64 that you need help setting up in Gameex, use the advanced configuration to "export" your config, and post it. For other help please be specific as to what problems you are having. For what it's worth, I was told by more than one person that project tempest wasn't worth setting up.
  16. So FB evolution doesn't require the standard "[rompath]/[romfile]" ? It must be one of those emulators that requires the roms to be in the ./Roms folder....
  17. I thought I replied to this yesterday.... I don't think your directories matter, as long as you have the paths set up correctly in gameex. Gameex specifically asks for the path to controls.ini in Advanced Mame Setup, so make sure that is right. Tom includes Control.ini, and other mame .ini files in gameex/data so maybe you should try pointing to those. What I thought I said yesterday,is that I'm a big fan of Headkazes CPWizard. It allows you to create a control panel that replicates yours, and then displays the correct label next to the appropriate buttons. So if you play Tempest, it will show "Left" and "Right", next to your spinner, "Fire" next to button1, and "Super Zapper" next to button 2, with all unused controls faded out. Pretty cool, you should try it!
  18. Also search for "create snaps" As far as the emulator logo Idea, I believe it would require you to edit your theme. I think it's a good idea though... Lingpanda has a tutorial for the theme editor on the Gameex site.

The guys over at KLOV are pretty helpful too. I'm betting if you posted a picture over there, they'll know what it is you have.
  20. I haven't done this, but here is a thread that may help: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=673 I think the two things you need to do are: 1. Map keys = true 2. Use a emulator config file.. in this example configfile = u64 Set up your configfile as necessary....
  21. Brian will tell you to use xpadder to reassign the keys just do a search on the forums, it's been discussed alot. I chose to edit my config files...but you probably shouldn't listen to me! Except when I tell you to do what Brian says
  22. Well, if your just setting up Mame, IMHO, you have to have the artwork to really have a nice Gameex setup. So get the Mame videos from Circo, and all of the other artwork you can find: Control panels, marquees, cabinets, etc. So far as other things, You could set up the jukebox, Some people here use karafun for karaoke, and there are many emulators for various systems. Also, as I mentioned in another thread, I really like Headkazes CPWizard for displaying custom control panels. And there are some other nice plugin's including HK's LCD/LED wizard. If you get started right now, you could have the "perfect" set up in a year or two! . Do a little searching on the forums for these topics, and if you have any questions, just ask!
  23. It's Tom. The more hits he gets on the website, the more money he makes. So he messes with our stuff, so that we will keep posting. If you have any pictures of your wife on the same computer as Gameex, I'd move them. On a more serious note, I know that this is more of a curiousity issue than anything else, but if all else fails, Write Protect! I've had problems in the past with this kind of thing. I use Mame32, and I would tell it not to check for games on startup, and everytime I started it, the check box would be unmarked, and it would check the file again. Don't know why...probably a bug. You could always Ask at mame devs. But not if your using mame32...
  24. Even idiots would click on a button like that, and then Vista wouldn't have all of the features that we need!
