I agree...if your color blind! Asteroids came out in 1979, Tempest in 1980, I'd gladly wait a year, to be able to play Tempest in color. I'm sure there are people who remember their first black and white TV too...But who really cares about them? Sorry HK , I didn't mean to derail again, but when somebody thinks Asteriods is a "defining moment in vector game history", I have to object!

Try removing -tripplebuffer from the mame options in advanced mame settings.

I don't know if you are taking requests or not... How about Tempest for one of the logos? (Vector, Spinner, Favorites)

I googled around (play .sid extension), and found this: http://gmc.yoyogames.com/index.php?showtopic=373824 and I see in my searching they make a plugin for winamp, but I didn't see one for WMP. That doesn't mean there's not one (I didn't look very hard), or maybe the plugin works for WMP as well, I haven't a clue about any of this, so it's pretty difficult to help, but maybe this will get you started off in the right direction...or not.

On the last page of the setup for your emulators are the options to "Play in Screensaver" and "Random/Most Played", set both of those to "yes". You can do it quickly in the setup wizard, goto Custom > Emulator Setup, then page 4. Select your emulator from the drop down list, make the changes and repeat.

There is also "alpha paging", which allows you to go letter by letter...A's, B's, C's etc.

Don't say that! Before you know it, they'll have your cabinet shut down, with red tape all over the place, and you won't be able to go near your Cab again until the red tape is cleared up! The bad thing is that only conclusion that they would be able to reach is that this specific dinosaur had eaten silicon just before it died! (probably what killed it)

Without just random guessing, I would need to see your config. Even if you have everything "right", it would allow us to copy what you have to see if we can duplicate the problem.

I had commented in another thread, that I liked Barcio's control panel. He has been kind enough to offer to modify his control panel layout to suit me. I like his layout, but if possible would like to eliminate a few buttons. His panel has player 1 and 2 layouts like this: Since the layout is curved to match a right hand (which I like) he has four separate buttons which are curved in a similar fashion for the left hand so that you can use your right hand for the use of the track ball and spinner. I am wondering if there would be an easy way to re-map the buttons marked 4,5,6,3 to 1,2,3,4 for trackball and spinner games. As you can see, those buttons would be close to the "curve" needed for a left hand. I know I could do it one by one, but if I were to use a program like Romlister to find the trackball and spinner games, Is there anyway to automate the process? Either by remapping on the fly for the games, or generating the individual .ini files automatically? Or is this a silly idea?

I'm pretty sure I already told you that I would take the monitor off your hands to keep it from "just laying around doing nothing" I'll even come down and get it, but when I get there, you'd better have some steaks grilling for me. Now you've made me repeat myself, all I'm doing is running up the post count on the boards, and Shaunopp is going to give me crap for that. Pretty soon HK will jump in, and tell me to stop hi-jacking threads, and before you know it , Tom will tell me to stop joking around so much in the forums. The way I see it, you are the offender, and I'm just trying to stop you. If you want me to find the thread where I said I would take the monitor, and post again, I will, but I really don't need anymore posts, because I am already a "Ultimate Gameex Guru!", and as far as I can tell, I'm actually going to have to contribute something really useful, or be offered a posistion as a Mod, to get a promotion. Now, I don't see either one of those things happening anytime in the near future because: a. I might be "useful", but it's doubtful I'll ever be "really useful" b. If I get the offer to be a Mod before BK, all hell will break loose. If Tom does choose to give me mod rights though, I promise to only use them to correct my incorrect answers, and to mess with Brian, so it's not like I'd abuse the power. What do you think Tom? I think what they are saying is: got to www.gameex.net, and download the file from there and install it, as opposed to letting gameex update itself. I think there's a new release out again today, so maybe the problems have been solved.

I think this brings up an idea that I'm sure everyone will hate. How about when there is an update of Gameex, that there is a section in the Setup Wizard for "New Options" that way it would be easy to find them, and try them out. In the following (major) release, the items could be moved to appropriate locations, and new items added to the "New Options" list. I do know that this would be a little more work for Tom, but I think it would be handy for everybody else. If this gets more than one "hey - good idea", I will make a feature request.
