@Draco1962The default launch file for both these is "launch.bat" Have you tried launching via this file? The launcher.exes you talk about in the bitbucket log are part of the games set and not typextra. They're safe to delete as the launch.bat route won't use them. + thanks for the comprehensive testing - appreciate it!

Good sleuth work, Draco! Log em all up and I'll have a look at these another day. So finally took a step back and thought... "Oh yeah.. that's why I was doing it!" All TypeX, TypeX2, ExBoard, eAmusement and Nesica games bootable and playable (with a few awkward exceptions): A few more days of tidying and should be done + fit for release. I really can appreciate now why things such as GoodTools and the such like came into existence. I guess the problem with these systems is it is more than just one file - there's so many variables from original to user hardware to launch methods etc.....

Could you do me a favour, Draco? IN prediction of a number of things and not wanting to get de-spirited with this thing, could you post them on the bugs tracker via the help menu? alternaitvely, here :https://bitbucket.org/stigzler/typextra/issues Will look at as soon as I can ta

Thanks - if you could let me know, that'd be one less thing to do within this accursed task.

Hmm. Odd. All TTX games working fine my end (Win 10 + AMD). Wonder if it's the GPU? I'll know better when I install on my cab which is NVidia. You shouldn't have to be using anything but pad_config.exe and xb_config.exe for the controls settings. Sound like you're using the command line app. That by choice? TypeXtra's set up to use the former two.. Usual stuff - ensure all your game.exe's and launchers are set to run as admin + try the same for pad_config

Then there you have it. Whilst you're experimenting with different themes, capture them with OBS - will take 30 minutes of your time to learn it.

Sounds like you just volunteered yourself: https://obsproject.com/

@Draco1962 OK. Solved it. You have to "show desktop" in advanced emu setup, else it doesn't work (for some reason). This Setup should work: Working path: Path of the TypeXtra.exe file. ROM Path: Path to the shortcuts you have created from TypeXtra. Command Line: If you created your shortcuts using the Shortnames (e.g. Arcana Heart 3 shortcut is named 'AH3') then use '-gs' instead of '-gl' Finally: That should do it.
-
Naw - I wouldn't run via the shortcuts, I'd run via TypeXtra as the launcher. Use the shortcuts to get the "romnames" Just quickly tried it. Weirdly, runs fine from command line alone, but not from GE. I'll investigate further...

No, although command line function was mid-dev. Was working from cmdline console when coded. Have you tried via the command line without gameEx?

Do you have a pic? I'm looking at different cooling solutions atm. The one I'm trying at the moment is a 30mmx30mm finned ceramic heatsink with a 30x30x8mm fan stuck on top...

A Little Retro Love For 'Ready Player One' Fans:
stigzler replied to tthurman's topic in Social Club
Heh. Jeff Minter was one of my facebook 'friends.' (When I used to do facebook) I messaged him when I was making the Ataroid to see if he was interested in the project and whether he'd sign it for me! I did aknowledge that he may have mixed feelings about the Atari case! He never messaged back. Too much acid. -
As a matter of interest on Calamity Trigger - how are the graphics and are you running NVidea or ATI?
-
ATI.

Both Raidens work fine.

Ah. I haven't play tested any of the games. That might be helpful. If it's launching then it's likely the exe and like you say either the compatibility mode or some other gubbins. For example, Battle Gear 4 only runs if you put the exe into compat mode for XP SP3 (this is always a useful compat to try first as this was the OS of the time). Working on a "getting started" overlay, Draco following your feedback - you know - the type where it circles a button then says "do this first" then "do that next" etc... Real men never read instructions so silly of me to think that people would look in the help before getting stuck in!

Thanks for testing it out, Draco. Dazzle's part way there. It creates shortcuts to the launch files and then you boot via: http://retrorigs.biz/MagoDokuWiki/doku.php?id=software:typextra:start e.g.s: TypeXtra.exe -gs "AH3" or TypeXtra -gl "Arcana Hearts 3" Get the game names via using the Create Shortcuts feature + point GE at them for the game names. There's help documentation built in off the Settings menu (admittedly, cobbled together - don't like documentation!) EDIT: Damn - sorry Draco - I gave you a bum steer on the cmd line. Now corrected
