Its not just demul its crashing in, so not sure its that. Also, cant find hide os option anywhere! Also, its gameex and/or gameinfo plugin that crashes, not the emulators. Thanks for ongoing help

Cool. I'm just wondering whether it's just me having these problems. If so - wondering whether to do with something in my setup.
-
It was quite good - I'd definitely give it a spin. tbh I felt the control scheme in syrim ruined the game - no precision or tactics. However, online uses more traditional hotkeyd moves. I rated it.

Peachy. I prefer marathon running and socializing anyway.
-
Cheers fella and let me know if you need any info from my end. It is looking quite widespread across emus (prob about 70% of my setup)

OK, OK - so I like Speccy emulation now - changed from Spectaculator to ZXSpin and after a bit of wrestling found it so much better to use and configure. Some nice gfx options too! My one tip would be F7 = enable using joystick. 2 Emus left. And now I return to my old foe, SSF!! Remember it was a bugger to get working. Now arriving at the cab control config and - you can only map controls to letters!!! So all my per-defined Numpad keys (to avoid system keys) are redundant. Also, looks like the hotkeys are mapped to..you guessed it.. letters! Throwing in the towel at this stage. Wonder if one day I'll get to play a game?

No. I can't. I'm taking my ball and going home. Been 5 days or more now configuring controls for my emus. I've now gotten into last third and every problem that can ever happen with this has all converged onto one system/emulator!! Bloody ZX Spectrum I ask you!? AHK scripts don't work, the emu controls config for Kempston does some mad s**t and games don't appear to accept cursor keys as valid input! Good job I'm into celebrating diversity, else I could have gone all 8 again - waving my C64 around and telling speccy users their 'puter's a brick. Keep yer bike Clive, I'm moving on.

I love Taito Type X emulation.. it's bliss! Heaven on Earth. Mana in a bottle. Now... Spectrum emulation on the other hand.... AAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! I don't even envisage myself playing any speccy games! Why is it the nearer to the end of a job you get the head to your hammer falls off; you step on a nail and then your hair catches fire? This hell will never end....

Some of the ones that run are fantastic. That is, until they decide to stop launching - with no apparent reason and no tinkering. Kind of Fighters 13 looked brill - can launch from Arcade PC Launcher, but wont from any of the (various + numerous!) launch options within the game folder. Think these systems have topped my #1 slot for biggest pain in the..type X.

I've gotta say after a year of tinkering around now in this hobby (and more pertinent to this aspect) - hat off to anyone who takes on puling together all the different parts of the computing part of retro gaming. Emulators, roms, databases, input methods, controller configurations, artwork, file-matching, naming conventions, direct X, shifting hardware sands, cabs/HTPC hosts and lastly but not leastly, moaning, demanding users. Of course on the latter point, I only speak for myself. Great work and if you guys need a cup of tea making, let me know.

Taito Type X. Thank you and goodnight.

No rush to get it sorted - I'm confident it'll happen. Just have a week off and trying to get this project finished so I can get obsessed about healthier things instead! That's why querying the roll back - need working version to test all my emu setups - at the moment lots of gameex, gameinfo and extender crashes. However, I shall bat on and wait for the sun

Is it easy to revert to a previous version? Will I loose all my settings?
-
Scenario - You're booting Dreamcast games from GameEx via NullDC. However, you have to set up the game settings each time. Some games require change of graphics/sound settings and key mappings to your cab controls are very different across games. Solution: This approach saves the configs for each game when you exit Demul. Use: Run game. Set up controls via NullDC menu. Exit Game. Next time you load that game, the controls will be recalled. How to: 1. Make a folder somewhere for your individual game controls 2. Copy this text and make a bat file: 3. Change the User Variables Section to match your system. Save it as a batch file (use notepad - put .bat at end of filename) 4. In your command line for GameEx, enter the following: {Path and bat} "[ROM]" "[ROMPATH]" "[ROMFILE]" For e.g.: C:\GameEx\AHKS_BATS\nulldc_game_settings.bat "[ROM]" "[ROMPATH]" "[ROMFILE]" 5. Copy text below into notepad and save as "[Mapping Off] Exit (Process Close) - NullDC.ini" in C:\GameEx\CONFIG\EMULATORS

Stars as ever fellas. It's fun this tinkering with code lark isn't it! If only I had the faintest of ideas what I'm doing - it's the getting stuck part that sucks.

Ha! Tell me about it, Adultery! How bad am I feeling at the moment!

Funny turn this! Your answer may be what I'm looking for after all. I'm now running a bat to do stuff, launch the emu, wait, do more stuff then close. Bat here: http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/14066-tool-autoloadsave-individual-game-control-configs-with-demul/ However, problem is that when I hit the Esc key, GameEx regains focus, but demul doesn't close (runs in background) I'm wondering whether what you're talking about is the cause of this? have the obligatory Mapping Off Exit Process Close running in advanced config. Hmmm.... befuddled.

Did that version above get put into Tom's recent update? Just that started having similar probs again after GE update and wondering if because Quicklaunch had returned to previous version? Sorry Adultery feel like I'm always posting on yer plugins at the moment. It's coz they're so damn good and NEED to get them all running on my system!

Thanks Tempest. I'm sure I tried it with Exit at the end though... (without the rem outs) which should have meant that GamEx then launched the emu + game? In the end, grew frustrated and handled all via one bat with a start/wait command. Thanks for the advice though.

Hi folks. Having a problem with Launch Before in advanced Emu Config. Basically, looking to have two bat files running before and after launch/exit of Demul. These will load and save key configs for each game. The scripts: Launch Before: Launch After: Have tested with just the Launch After command in config, and GameEx runs the emu and game fine and executes the 'after' script on exit fine. However, when I try to run the Launch Before with: C:\GameEx\AHKS_BATS\Demul_load_controls.bat "[ROM]" "[WORKINGPATH]" The script executes fine (watching debug mode) but then it returns straight back to GameEx without launching the emu/game. At this point, the cmd window is shut - so can't figure out what's going on. Had a look in the log, but didn't tell me much. Can anyone lend a hand? Have tinkered with various things - like Pause and exit commands, but these don't seem to make a difference. Cheers

Plug cutter for the screw holes? Depending on how deep those holes are. Look forward to seeing the result. Could be wicked + reminds me of an Atari Woody.
