Many happy returns, old boy. Adultery - as old as mud itself, but always a pleasure.

Wow. Have you got a build thread somewhere? Where did you get a Marquee sized LCD??
-
Ah! That was it. The file structure in the zip threw me as there were two "Plugin Downloader.exe"s! Was running the wrong one.: Figured you run the second one in the subfolder. Many thanks Adultery.

OK - got excited when found this function tonight - but soon came across a snag! Scenario: need to remap keyboard keys to other keys in emulators. Using a combo of minipac and keyboard hack in my cab. Keyboard hack maps Function keys (to "[" and "]" for e.g.). Have 2P Start mapped to Right Shift, to enable me to get two functions out of one button (e.g. "[" and "{" <shifted). Need to remap "{" to, for instance, F3 in PCSX2 to Load a savestate. Problem is when I use Advanced Config, and press 2P (in order to shift the "[") - it registers immediately as Right Shift. Pic: Tried Block Keys, but no joy. Is there any way to do this? I was suprised to learn that xpadder doesn't register the keyboard as a controller - therefore can't find a way to use this! Cheers

Ah, that didn't work getting the following:

stigzler replied to Crylen's topic in GameEx Media Projects
That's nice - very clean and nicely balanced. -
Nice build! Rotating monitor? Also - is that Marquee an LCD!??? You gotta share your build post! Good work, chap.

Another share, given found a simple way to achieve this. May save someone some time... Scenario: A lot of PS2 games require different settings from each other to run properly (e.g. different graphics settings; speedhacks and shaders). Thus - need a way to boot each game from gameex with individual settings. Solution: Download and install PCSX2. Download and place PCSX2Lunch (a launcher) into your PCSX2 folder: http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-PS2Lunch-a-simple-launcher-for-PCSX2 TIP: Set all your default settings in the default profile before adding isos to PCSX2Lunch (e.g. - set your screen resolution in the GDSX plugin and configure your controls) Add your games to PCSX2 Lunch: It will provide you with a serial number (in column serial) Rename your roms to include the serial number enclosed in square brackets. Doesn't matter where in filename. This must be in the format: [AAAA-00000] - don't forget the dash! E.g.: At this point, you may have to re-link your files to the PCSX2Lunch launcher (you'll click Normal Start or Config Start on a game - it'll prompt you for the file location - just locate and it'll be fine the next time) Create this Batch file, edit the file locations to match your own and save in PCSX2 folder as "PCSX2_LUNCH_LAUNCH.bat": In your PS2 GameEx setup, do the following: Obviously, changing you paths/filenames to those relevant to your setup. And that's it. Basically, the batch file extracts the serial number from the filename and this is sent to PCSXLunch, which in turn, applies the individual settings for the game and launches it. Hope this helps someone.

Brill. Well Adultery - your plugin was the inspiration for putting a second monitor in my cab. I remember you saying you'd like to see vids of GameInfo in action - made a quick one - low quality, and should have set GameExtender to use custom images, but you can see your fantastic plugin in action: The Control Panel viewer is proving very useful too! Just a few questions: Is it possible to alter the transparency of the control panel when activated? That is pre-set it - I'd like it @ 100% opacity so can see it clearly Is it possible in the ini or something to let the user set the key that brings up the CP (so can map to one of the function buttons on my cab) [Edit] Even better would be a key combo Like Shift and a Key - that'd save me a button assignment! Lastly (heh - don't ask much do I?) is it possible to set the amount of time it is displayed for? Great work Adultery - many thanks for a bit(!?) of coding that's made all the difference to my cab.
-
Thanks for the assist, Adultery! That bleedin "run as administrator" - I'm still living in the XP past, man!

This is great - lots more customisability now! Is there any way to increase the font size? Tried this in the settings xml: <color>FFFFFF</color> <size>7</size> <path>Mago/Comfortaa_Regular.ttf</path> no joy!

Couldn't find a separate post for the dev of this, so posting here. I get some kind of .NET error when running this: Any ideas?

Many thanks Headkaze. Do you have to have keycodes set to each input? It's just that not all of my leds are buttons/keys - some are led strips + other decals thanks for a great plugin
-
this plugin looks brill but struggling to get it working. have leds wired u in cab. mixture of led strips and function buttons at bottom of bezel. trying to set up, but can only get one button/fed to activate. pics: in example above, f1 always lights, but if i chose "always active" for any others they dont light. however i know plugin feeding uttons properly b/c attract and animations lighting all buttons. is there any help/guide for this plugin? for e.g. what's "state"? can ne1 advise ; this looks amazing if i could only get it working
-
Dammit... in wiring hell atm - so not able to access the pc to get screenies of example settings.... i 'ate wires!

whoa that's brilliant Adultery... and I bet that would be a popular bit of coding helping people out - having searched google - can't find this anywhere! I'll post some stuff when get home tonight - basically, the ability to change the global settings (fullscreen start etc), what plugins and bios to use and the individual plugin settings for each game (e.g. change graphics plugin settings for each game or in my case, change the settings of the Nuvee plugin for lightguns) - I dunno which settings are or aren't stored in the Reg. Thanks A - you're a genuine star!
-
Thanks Tempest, but think the settings i need to change are beyond the normal switches (settings within plugins) Yuck indeed, nullP. That does sound pants. Never straight forward is it? I admire these teams that develop emulators and how much work they put in, but it just feels sometimes like really obvious things are overlooked. Especially when they are included in other emulators So, I'm in a twix. Can't find a loader anywhere for pcsx, but need pcsx to play lightgun games, as can't find a way to get epsxe working with these games! I would be happy sticking with epsxe IF it could accommodate lightgun games! < Harrummph I have a horrible feeling I'm going to have to learn coding. I'm getting too old for this sh...

Done a 60 minute search - can't find anything on this. Scenarios - having to use pcsx-r for PSX lightgun games (can't get it working in epsxe). This with NUvee plugin works great, but is there any way to save plugins/configurations/settings on per game basis? For each lightgun game have to go into settings inNuvee plugin and choose the particular game. Obviously don't want to do this each time a i run a game from GE! I use PS2Lunch for PS2- this does all this in one fell swoop - save global/plugin settings on per game basis. Any of you guys have any work arounds? Thanks

Hi folks. I made this to solve a problem I was having with my PSX roms. Thought I'd share to spare others in similar situation the pain! Scenario: You have a bunch of psx roms you've sourced to match the ones you own for your console. All zipped, but with varying contents (some have .bin and .cue; others with .sub, .img, .cue etc). Furthermore, some are further sub-compressed with a .ecm extention (e.g. tekken.bin.ecm). This .bat file tackles these multi-format roms and launches them from GameEx. Furthermore, there is the option to create a separate 'quicklaunch' folder so you don't have to unzip the same game in the future. Limitations: ROM root folders must be zipped. Also, you will need at least one .cue, .mds or .ccd file in the zip. (however, it is OK if these are ".ecm" at the end too - for e.g. "tombraider.cue.ecm) Below, the zipped multi-format roms in the top window and various content to the right. Bottom left window, the auto generated unzipped + processed roms. : You'll need to set up two emulators - one for the zipped roms and one for the quicklaunch. Configs: Launch Zipped Games: Launch Quicklaunch Games: Place this bat file in your epsxe directory: Further notes about setup at bottom of .bat file: Before I'm flamed - I aint no coder, so it aint the tidiest or most eloquent, but it bloody works!! Hope this is of some use to someone!

Do you get a fancy hat? Good news indeed + thanks for your ongoing contributions to everyones' gameex experience.

Heh. Was true Geek Drama. Almost as good as: The King of Kong http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0923752/ Billy Mitchell is hilarious. Soz Adultery - I shall stop fogging your thread!

btw - see you're playing fez - great choice!! You seen the documentary which includes the guy who made this? Great throwback to the bedroom developers like Matthew Smith and Jeff Minter. "Indie Game": http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1942884/ (on netflix)
