Hi, I just tried running GameEx on my old test system PII 800Mhz, and it is indeed running very slow. Where before the GUI was full speed. Ill look into this. How much memory do you have in your system?
i think the ICOns may be because they are cached. If you try now its probably OK. I am concerned about the performance you talk about though. It really should fly on your system. If anything performance should be a little better since last time you were here. Can you tell me what settings you have under Tweaks/Performance? It may well be its your graphics driver. I know someone talked about the latest geforce drivers having issues before. Let me know. Welcome back. Tom
hmm, is it deffinitly running the script? Ie is your GameEx install in C:\GameEx and not C:\program files\gameeex? Could you check the file date on vpauto.exe? You should be able to change the controls globally for Visual Pinball. Thats wht I always did. Just load it and find the settings and change. Its not on a table basis.
Not really sure what you mean there!? Are you sure you set the settings right? Its DisableEscape not hideescape. And all it does is not run code if the escape key is pressed it does not affect anyting displaying on the start page. At least it shouldnt. Go do a sanity check!
17th July 2005 - GameEx 4.61 - Your getting spoilt! Should fix MAME game focus issues. If not please report on the forums.
New setting to disable the ability to exit GameEx with the escape key.
Four new settings to launch files on starting and exit of GameEx.
What I am saying if you run with mame.exe instead of mame32fxpp.exe when this batch files runs, it will show you (on the screen) the error mame produces. mame32fxpp.exe wont tell you as its a windows app. Its probably an issue with mame32fx. Try removing the resolution above, and then also the -nostrech which should actually be nostretch with an extra t. Did GameEx do that?
Its not supposed to work. If its launching a command line version of MAME. With the pause you should see the output from MAME, which shouild tell you what it does not like. OH, you might need to remove the Echo OFF if its there.
Hi, I do plan to add LaunchOnStart , LaunchOnStartNoWait, LaunchOnExit , and LaunchOnExitNoWait settings to do this. No on FinalBurn at the moment, but why do you need this? Have you got a slow PC? Tom
goto C:\Program Files\GameEx\data in Explorer Edit Runitgame.bat in notepad Add a new line to the end with: Pause Save it. Run last game again. See what it says. It should explain why its not running.
I dont see that here. The format of GameEx.ini is actually competely changed during upgrade to the default one I supply in the install. This is necessary to ensure any comments I add for new settings are in the file, which I stopped doing so detailed ones anyway after I made the config app avaialble. Anyway, people really should be using the configuration app to make changes. I cant really support issues really unless there done with the config app.
I do actually get plenty of sleep, it just seems like I don't! I really also dont like leaving GameEx in a buggy state. Once its stable, I will take a bit of a break. Anyway please try this updated GameEx.exe see if its OK. Cheers. GameEx.zip
