Its the error thats displayed whenever a .net app has an unhandled exception. It must be the attract mode where it occured, as exceptions everywhere else are handled. Its not a 4.58 issue, and not code has changed there for a whie. Maybe MAME crashed or something, was it still running when you came back?
Hi, The log is your friend. It tells you why GameEx disabled MAME usage. Also, up until the last build, I left AdvanceMAME turned on, which did this. Go into Advanced MAME settings, and turn it off. Cheers, Tom
Perhaps I should modify the original setting, and add one for each emulator. Which would be 'Check for particular process and Exit' That way it would be more flexible and perhaps work with the other HTPC software? I must say though, I am not too motivated, as my green button on my remote has only ever worked when within MCE
Thanks so much. I take that it was you R.P? Well, Ill know who to call up when the next update/version of MCE comes out! Cheers. I still have little idea why your back button is not working. I dont think its a config issue, but if you post your GameEx.ini Ill try it on my system to be sure. Tom
As I said before, it will only reset missing settings. If you went into the ini and removed the Also Launch setting completely for example. GameEx would treat this as empty, but the install would see its missing and put it back with whatever the default value is. I expect thats what happened.
Does it all for you automatically, and nobodies had an issue yet. EDIT: Yes I just upped. Should be OK now. I left a few settings turned on in the config which would throw off newbies so I did a rebuild.
14th July 2005 - GameEx 4.58 Should fix issue where MAME loses focus on occasions.
Improved startup and exit speed for MAME, emulators, and apps.
Video/DVD on screen display when showing, displays for 4 seconds as opposed to 10
Because I already have an Arcade Cabinet, and 70" MCE System. No just kidding. I dont get many donations, could do with more, but most hobbies cost money. There are more extravagant ones though I am sure.
Dont worry about that just make them full screen, if you dont understand. Most emulators run already using DirectX. The odd one does not and you need to set the showdesktop setting. If there was an option to run with DirectX or not, it would be a setting or plug in for the emulator itself. External to GameEx.
Yes, quite right, my bad, that was exactly the problem. Another bug, but fixed now. It was checking for any difference in no. of instances of the process called, and not just less instances of the process called.
14th July 2005 - GameEx 4.56 Fixes issues with Video Snaps.
Previously snaps would stop working after playing approximately 100 videos.
MCE Focus issue addressed in last release should be correct now.
