Yes that would all help, and to be honest other than the please wait animation I can't think of much that has changed in GameEx that would cause this, I've certainly not changed the MNG code for some time. Although I will look at it as I get the ocasional flicker with the videos myself, but nothing like your getting.

To be honest with a system like you have already I am surprised you have any performance issues, maybe it the dual display output thats slowing stuff down and you just need a better video card, because I have a similar system spec (but on AMD) here with MCE and GameEx and I do other stuff on it. Seems to fly to me. EDIT: I think a dedicated PC for home theatre use is a must, really not to clever running a secondary display in my opionion, so I would just get a cheapish but new/modern pc purely for your plasma. EDIT2: Something though that people forget is it costs a lot in energy bills to run a PC all year round, about £100 for me.

I have noticed the MNG videos flicker occasionaly, but its really very minor on my system. Could you try the latest driver for your gfx card and get the latest GameEx version, just to be sure the problem still exists? Do you have deadzone enabled?

What Codec are you using?

Maybe it does support newer games just thought it didnt and only supported games older than 3 years or similar. GameEx gets the years when it runs MAME with the command line option -listxml. This outputs all information about the games MAME has from MAME itselft. When games dont show in GameEx its normally because you dont have the game or one of the filters is stopping it showing such as only show working games, or the filter on name.. You can look at the output in your mame directory called listinfo.dat and see if there and check the filtering options.

Are you talking about the videos actually playing in Attract mode (Screensaver) or the MAME snap videos?

Its working fine for me even without Vsync, but you could try ensuring Vsync is on under Tweaks/Performance setting. What type of files are the videos?

Well I am pretty sure the legal and official versions of MAME does not have games that new, so if there showing up in MAME32 you must be using some kind of illegal build, which GameEx probably does not support fully.

Not sure right now, sorry, but I don't think its due to the upgrade must be something else. Instant Sheller is working fine for me with the latest version. I guess try setting it up again, and check nothing else is starting up with windows.

How do they play in Windows Media Player??

Seems to me like the newer drivers only work properly with newer cards.

Maybe MK3 is changing the resolution of your Plasma, you should make sure mame is running at the same and a fixed resolution to your plasma. Add -noswitchres to the MAME CMD line options under advanced mame setup in the config app.

Let us know if this works for you Boondy, otherwise Ill get you a debug version of GameEx, although I am thinking it may be some kind of hardware/driver issue hopefully the above will work with. Thanks for the info Vynce, can you confirm you originally had the same issue until you did this?

Sounds like a bug I need to fix, could you explain exacty what makes this start happening? Could you also post your GameEx.ini. I will add an option to disable it, but I would ike to fix the bug on your system. It has to be happening to others to. Thanks, Tom.

You have to set the language to "custom".
