  1. Hi, sorry, GameEx currently has no support for a slider.
  2. Sorry, no. From the docs page: http://tomspeirs.com/gameEx/docs.htm Q: Can I stream GameEx through my Xbox 360 or other Media Center Extenders? A: Unfortunately it is just not technically possible to stream PC native full fps games to an Xbox 360 to an extent that would be good enough. If it was physically possible to do it well enough for the likes of real time gaming with the current extender technology, it would do it, but it's not.
  3. Your most welcome folks, got to keep the punters happy I'd be interested to what you think of the improvement in image quality, its very noticable to me especialy when navigating the main start menus, ie the ones where the images zoom in. I also wanted to check its not affecting performance for anyone. I made some improvements to the code so some of it might run a little faster, although time might be taken up with the high quality image scaling.
  4. 13th August, 2006 - GameEx 6.54 Should now support merged rom sets Enhanced image quality of icons/snaps/previews and backgrounds Several memory usage optimisations related to images Thanks to Headkaze's help, theme editor themes can be displayed in windowed mode and at different resolutions Theme editor themes can be rotated dynamically Theme editor themes now work via remote desktop
  5. As I said this was an issue with MAME .107. It was MAME related when updating the list with MAME .107. Its the MAME games list update which tells gameex which orientation to use. So it sounds like it is MAME related. EDIT: I dont think your bonkers I saw exactly this issue when using MAME .107 a few versions back, although I thought I fixed it.
  6. Possibly not I'd need to check, but you know you should be able to set numlock to be on in the laptops BIOS, no?
  7. I'm not to sure, I know a few versions back this was an issue with MAME .107 because of the change in output of the info from MAME. It should be fixed now though, and shouldnt affect older versions of MAME. So I'm not too sure whats going on. Can you provide any additional info?
  8. Did you update the list again with the older version of MAME. Need to do that.
  9. It seems FinalBurn Alpha is doable as it supports command line options and game list output. Would that be good enough for you guys?
  10. Just to let you folks know, the next version of GameEx will handle merged roms again. Cheers. Tom
  11. No problem Nullus, you should never get flamed or told off here if you ask nicely
  12. Is the option already there to change the "L" key to another virtual key code not good enough?
  13. The video fun theme may not be supported in the latest GameEx. Try creating a copy of the default theme, rename it then post the files from the video fun over the top of it, and select that theme

    Hooray!

Yeah Smiff, I'm with you on LCD's would be shit for this, and I really wonder how some LCD's and CRT's are going to cope with those refresh rates. I'm not sure the product claims to be for LCD's though, does it? I would say, that Ultimarc does great stuff and is a good company in every way as far as all my experiences go. So if Andy says he's done it I tend to believe he's done a good job. We'll have to wait for the retroblast review to be sure though. PS. Look out for the Arcade-In-A-Box review there coming shortly. Its running GameEx
  15. Sorry for my response all, was having a bad hour!
  16. I hate to burst the bubble, but if your running all games full screen with hardware stretching you entirely wasted your money on an ArcadeVGA card and arcade monitor. You dont need either of those to do that. I run my GameEx at 640 X 480 not MAME. I run all MAME games at there native resolutions where possible which is the purpose of using an ArcadeVGA and Arcade Monitor.
  17. Its because your using merged roms. This should be fixed in the next version.

    DVD issue

Do you have the setting to use FFDSHOW for DVD's enabled? Make sure its off. Also do you have an accseible C:\ drive and do you have a file called graph.grf in the root?
  19. Sounds like it might be a bug in FFDSHOW, the daily builds can be very buggy. There's been no stable version released for a couple of years, which is kind of pain with what I would I would otherwise probably call one of the best open source projects there is. The most stable one I have found is the one right on the bottom of the page of the daily builds. I'd say it was probably a bad move to upgrade FFDSHOW in your case, the daily builds are not proper releases of the software.

    DVD issue

FFDSHOW does not provide a DVD codec, so ignore that. Its good to have it for the other video support in GameEx, but you shouldnt need it for DVD. I'm not sure what's going on. Could you please post the GameEx log, and tell me which video card you are using.
  21. Trinity. I just saw your sig! Friggin brilliant! That's made my day
  22. OK, didnt realise you were talking about Videos. Ill check it out in a minute. Han, I am aware of the 7Zip issue. Not much I can do with that, at least easily.
  23. Can you post the log, and have you tried more than one emu? Can you also explain "crashes"
  24. I think something that people tend to forget is that hard disks only last like a maximum of five years before failing. New disks are better, but they don't last long. I've got through loads of disks since 1999. Also, wanted to say, I dont image my drives, as installing an OS is pretty easy for me. I tend to use a batch file that copies only changed files to my server every day. Its fairly cost effective now just to build a PC stick 3 500Gb's drives in and just use dynamic drives in Windows to make them into 1.5TB. Dont even need a server version of windows.
  25. Headkaze, that is scary, but it has happened to me before, I think I used that tool too. There is also a good s/w disaster recovery package I used before by Ontrack, that made the whole processs a lot easier, with good results. And yes, please send me the source code, I tend to do a lot of backups. I have a 1.5TB array on a server in brand new hard disks just for backups. Thanks, Tom
