You could check and upgrade your video drivers. What version of MAME are you using, and which other versions of GameEx did you try?

OK, its Sunday, i've eaten too much, and have become numb watching too much tv. So I thought i'd have a little fun, and Im offering a free Gameex license to the fisrt reply to this post with the correct answer to the following (if your already registered lets give someone not so fortunate a chance!) I dont know what the exact issue is, but its failing trying to connect the favorites and statistics MS Access database located here \gameex\data\data.mdb. So I'd check out that file. Tom

Hey guys, GameEx is used all over the planet, and everyone is welcome. However the issue is I can only speak english, and I need to moderate the forum. So if something is in another language I cant tell if the forum rules are being broken, like rom sharing is going on or something. I would create another french forum, but the issue is there's a lot of folks from all over the planet, germany, italy, brazil, spain and many more, and I cant cater for everyone. No problem with the posts above, just in general I need to keep everything in English, and I'm sorry I don't speak any other languages, blame the British education system!! Thanks. Tom

OK guys, post your gameex.ini's and ill take a look.

Place the following into a .bat file (batch file, just a normal notepad text file with .bat extension) and run at system or gameex startup net use e: \\desktoppc\x\console passwordhere /user:usernamehere Otherwise just Tools menu in windows explorer > MAP Drive. The benefit of the first method is you can specify and hard code a specific user and pass. Note: first you would share the drive or folder on the desktop pc. To map to a drive use \\desktoppc\c$ (Change c to drive letter).

Very nice, and extremelly creative. Believe it or not some of this may actually happen. Although probably not quite as nicely! The messaging is certainly possible, and it could be possible to have an in game screen. That would work as follows: Upon a key press or combo - GameEx would take a screenshot, minimize the emu, then initialize its display system and wait for input, exit game, restart game or return to game. Similar how to the ingame control panel works. I like the messenging idea, where you have both an inbuilt GameEx messenging and also ICQ. The first one deffinitly never occured to me before. Anyway, Love it!

I think I need to look at this. Are you saying though that you had ZSnes previousl setup fine with an older version. You upgraded and now its not working? Please post the log anyway.

Its just down to progress and the hard work me and headkaze do. Initially themes created with the theme editor had to be displayed at a certain resolution to work at all. Now GameEx will try and resize them, and its more of a case of "Designed For this Res"... Some will still not work at a lower resolution at all and some may not look right. The default GameEx themes should be OK at any resolution though, as these are version 1 themes (pre theme editor).

I'm not sure about Stu's issue, but I think this issue is the fact like you say you had no settings previously saved for this, so basically the update just filled in the blanks. It shouldnt happen again, as now the values are set (even perhaps to an entry string).

Im not entirely sure I understand this. GameEx will startup fullscreen if it exited full screen and the same with windowed. Hoever if GameEx does not exit gracefully it wont have a chance to save what state it was in. I dont understand what you mean about the ctrl-alt-delete. This should not change the windowstate GameEx will start up in. Also do you mean windowed instead of minimzed. Minimized means you cant see it at all. You can use the Exit plugin to exit Gameex gracefully with a code by the way.

Post your log (with this happening). I'm also not sure how GameEx can minimize while playing a game as its hidden?

This must be an issue with the plugin. I cant think of anything I can do in GameEx to compensate for this as the playing of Karoake is handled by the DirextX filter (plugin). This is not likely to happen on my end, your'll have to tackle it from the filter end although I know its no longer developed.
