Where can i get that theme so i can test?

Ill look into the issue. I think it is actually the theme your switching from somehow that is causing the issue. For no just set the theme in one of the config apps.

Yeah its a bugger alright. I've obviously looked into all this stuff. One of the things I looked at was using an umanaged wrapper for Direct3D or Direct2D. At the moment that looks like the best option, or perhaps the only viable option now. It would also give the option to use DirectX8 and user directdraw and direct3d together. Nights is the only such report, so lets hope it something else. Maybe he can try a fresh install? EDIT: According to MS MDX 1.1 is supposed to work fine in .net 2.0. (I read this on the XNA FAQ). I have not read up on thie issues your talking about. I know vs 2005 prompts about the loader lock issue when you try and launch GameEx with the visual studio hosting process enabled.

Edit: Yeah i see the errors actually occuring in MDX - DirectDraw. Night. Do you consitently get the error?

That looks odd. Does it do this consistently? Ie was it just a one off?

Unfortunatly this isnt a perfect science. I basically did what I could with the data fromn history.dat that is available for this.

I was a little whacked last night to post this on the forum, but 7.93 was released yesterday. 21st March, 2007 - GameEx 7.93 MAME Series support A list update is required I was kind of modest on the release notes. Its actually cooler than it sounds. When on the game info page, other games in a series for a game are not only listed but can be selected directly and played. The list update has also been speeded up a little, although theres extra time needed for adding the series info. GameEx has to use a fair bit of logic to get this detail similar to how it does for recommended games. Please bear in mind the actual update from data provided by MAME itself takes less then a minute.

There is an undocumented setting in c:\program files\gameex\config\gameex.ini called NoRotationRestrictions If you change this to True it will run at any resolution and colour depth. It might be a bit slow, depending on your syste,.

Perhaps the Series would be better used the same way recommended games is so you can select and play them directly?

Well its certainly appreciated. I love reading news on GameEx from a users perspective. Probably cos I'm British (as well as the author) i dont add too much spiel to the release notes, although secretly I'd probaby like to

I may consider adding the series information as a feature request soon. i dont want to add too much as I want to keep the interface simplistic if I can. It is possible though. Is it mainly series that is of most value?

Thanks for the report 442. I think this is related to the other post, in that GameEx is not shutting down quick enough.

Hi, it was supposed to be and always enabled by default. Are you calling the configuration from GameEx or closing down Gameex and calling configuration. I think i know what's happening. If the config app detects GameEx running it will close it down and launch it on exit. This functionality is for when the config app is called from GameEx. I expect if you wait a few seconds before opening the config app it wont happen. Im not sure why this is happening now for you though.

Your issue should be fixed in 7.90

HK, I wonder if its worht updating the setupwizard xml, with the new themes and new settings? Theres a new setting for emulators (at the end in config.csv) and obviously the video preview setting.
