Glad to hear your keeping busy. I just want to help In terms of the data loading, I'm thinking of doing the same thing with gameex to reduce memory consumption. I'd expect to get a similar result. I'm pretty sure its only that, that makes it use so much. Although at least it performs nicely on older hardware, assuming you got ram.

Only thing is you may lose any MAME favorites since that version is so old. Otherwise should be good.

Use a MAME version earlier than .118, or see the other thread in this forum about the patch.

You can use emulator groups, but currently they do not support databases. I think its likely they will in the future.

Yes, it should work on Vista. Although if your running 64 bit, you have to do a few tweaks as mentioned in the thread.

OK, one from me. I don't for a second take for granted how blessed I am to run a forum with such great members, contributors and the nicest folks I've ever met online. With so little crap involved, its a pleasure to wake up and read the plethera of posts submitted in the early hours. I drop by other forums like the official MAME and see people mouthing off, bitching, and generally being class A assholes, and then I see decent people having to deal with them... Like I say I feel blessed, and to be honest, I've probably met and conversed with more like minded people than I have in my life through GameEx and this forum. Thanks HK, I really should get the old Amiga setup here in GX. I was a huge fan. Did you ever try Amos or Blitz basic? I actually had a PD game out there at one time written in AMOS. Wer'nt that great (wernt completely crap), but I was a little young at the time to have motivation like I do now to really make it good. I think it was called Lander. It was a cross between thrust and lunar lander. PS: I've updated the portal with this version.

GameEx is crashing processing DirectInput keyboard. I don't think this is related to the GameEx release exactly. Sounds like your HotRod might have an issue. Like gameEx is thinking no keyboard is connected. Are you using custom keyboard controls?

Post the GameEx log as well as the windows error please.

If its not responding, I think something might have gone wrong, as the actual update process runs in the background on a thread. GameEx should still draw to the screen, and minimize etc. As always - logs help
