The log says GameEx is running atg 60hz also. Hate to state the obvious, but have you got all the latest drivers?

Sould like this is a codec issue. Im expecting you have the official DivX codec installed, that would cause the minimize, theres more info about it on the site FAQ. This mimimize is caused when the startup is video is playing by the DivX Codec. I suggest you uninstall your codecs, and install a different codec pack such as the FFDSHOW one on the site. Your saying this worked in a previous version? That's odd, or did you change codecs or startup video?

Blueboy, It may be a bug in GameEx I need to fix. Can you zip and post your GameE.ini and full log and ill try and duplicate the problem. Thanks. Tom

In the advanced configuration, under display settings, tell it NOT to set the resolution.

Let me know if thats it. If it is, run a disk scan, you may have some issue there with your hard disk. ie. it might be on the way out.

Its failing trying to play the select sound. I think your theme might have got corrupted. Please try a different theme.

I notice your not using the latest video card drivers. Also try turning off the MAME Bezel artwork in advanced config, basic MAME settings.

No problem, sorry if I was a little harsh. Anyway I suggest uninstalling all your codecs, and installing the version of FFDSHOW on the actual GameEx site. What is more helpful with versions is saying the version you upgraded from. That way I know what has changed in between. The video code did change but not in the last several versions. I always assume folks who report an issue are using the latest version, if not the first thing I ask them to do is install it. Thanks. Tom.

I wish you wouldnt say things like it worked last night in 8.64, blaming the problem on a new specific GameEx version. Thats one of the few things that ticks me off, when people report bugs about specific versions when there not specific to the version. This is most deffinitly a codec issue. I've experienced this with newer versions of FFDSHOW that dont work with GameEx. If your not sure, or you dont know what your talking about just say so, we're all very helpfull here.

Im not sure I believe this is not user error, there's never been a problem such as this with GameEx, and nothing has changed that would affect this. I believe the report by the other user was purely a one off. If this is the case with your setup why did you not report the problem when you submitted the (false) bug report about attract mode in the very same version of GameEx? Please justify yourself..

OK, all should be fixed now, and Ive added Daphne support to it. Can you please try 8.66?

That was always the case with the CPU, but NOT in the latest versions. Can you confirm, you had choppiness before you installed the latest version? Post your log so I can see your system specs. Unless you specifically need it its safe to remove .net 1.1

Assuming nothing else changed, and no windows or gameex updates were installed..... (was that the case?) A wild guess here, is that a memory chip failed on your cab, and its now got something silly like 128MB. Or perhaps some other hardware failed. Assuming nothing else changed. Id look at that. Also something to try is deleting and recreating your windows page file, this was a solution to the choppiness issue in the past. Also do a defrag.

I've just released 8.65, which automatically turns off a few settings, such as flat mode etc. Can you try it please?

Can you make sure flat menus/start page is turned off, and try again please?
