GameEx and GameEx Arcade Edition 16.31 released. Video recording of your games has been a feature in GameEx for some time. This release makes that feature more accesible with a specific dekstop utility in the start menu program group. New setting to check for existence of files in map files. Note: This is on by default so you may have to adjust this setting if updating some conigurations. hmm. I'm really not sure. I can't duplicate this here. I've got nothing to suggest right now other than attempt the windows install again. Sorry. Obviously try excluding the GameEx folder from any virus scanning etc if not already.

Which version of windows are you running? Is it regular GameEx or arcade edition? 64 bit or 32 bit? Bad image format exception is normally caused by mismatched 32/64 bit dlls/exes but no problem here with a fresh install of windows 10 1909. Those last two entries look a bit odd. Ive never heard of a 2015 - 2019 install. Although I have them also.

Also worth mentioning is that if you are using PinballX for MAME arcade you can use GameEx to create the game lists. They will be put in the data folder of GameEx.

I can confirm I can repeat this but it is actually resolved by normally installing GameEx. Not sure why that is not working for you? Did you just copy the files or did you actually install?

Did I make this the default setting by mistake? I thought it was off by default?

If you still have problems, please post the full log and not just the error. Then I will look into it further. From this I don't even know which version you are running. I know this problem can be caused by missing visual c runtime which should be fixed via an install but you said you did that?

Normally it is because the steam overlay needs to be enabled. GameEx checks for this process to know when the game has exited..

I suspect your windows install is a bit messed up. I've got nothing to suggest here other than a fresh install of windows. Sorry.

I will test this shortly. Did you change mode to simple or gamelauncher? For those what you are describing is normal behaviour and for arcade edition too.

I normally go with Samsung but just recently bought a Sabrent Q instead. It was less than half the price and had decent reviews for performance. Who needs more than 3.5TB per sec anyway? On performance on a modern m2 pci your just not going to notice any difference. Silly to even compare. I think the technology is considered pretty mainstream now so I don't think you have to be picky like you did back in the day. QLC will also be mainstream soon too apparently. I replace most of my stuff every two to three years so I decided not to worry about QLC over TLC and just go for the best deal. A larger drive has better lifespan too and that's what I got. Obviously if its for enterprise, a mac, for virtualization or for really important data then you know what to do. Also probably best to avoid QLC on a small drive. So for win 10 my recommendation is to go for a deal and QLC but ensure you get a really big drive.
