    DOH!! Resolved the issue... I'd forgotten that I had two copies of MAME installed and was editing the ini file of the wrong one! Classic error.... Anyway for the benifit of others: open the correct mame.ini set video to d3d set filter to 0 set hlsl_enable to 1 Then you can run any game in mame and voila - scanlines....

    Hi, Not necessarily a GAMEEx specific question, but hope someone can help none the less... Gamex Arcade running great with MAME 0.219 64bit installed. I upgraded from an old version of 0.151 which had the -scanlines switch to turn on scanlines. Read a lot about HLSL filters and enabling hlsl in mane.ini, setting video to d3d, and filters to 0, but cannot for the life of me get the scanlines to appear! No sliders for them either available from within MAME itself... Must be something really simple I've missed but going around in circles.... Many Thanks.

    That didn't show up anything as errors when I ran it, but I ran Sherlock codec inspector that showed a possible issue with DirectX so I think that it might have been it. ...who knows, anyway at least its all running now

    Phewww... its working fine now, not on my desktop pc which seems to have a gremlin on the works, but great on the arcade box pc. All videos displaying fine - love GameEX...

    Ok - thanks Tom, I'll try it on another pc first and see if it works before facing a lengthy reinstall nightmare.

    Hi, I installed GameEx Arcade Edition version 16.28 yesterday and downloaded the System pack for MAME as well. Seems to all work fine, except for the video snaps which refuse to appear and play. I downloaded and installed the LAV Codec pack, fiddled with the setting, reinstalled, etc all to no avail... Any ideas?.. The videos will play in VLC Media player but nothing else. Log file is attached - you can see it fails to load the videos. Thankslog.txt
