  1. I did as you suggested, and only Virtua Striker (vstriker) came up on the GameEx List. I'm pretty sure that most of these games do not work in MAME.
  2. Hi Tom, Besides Wave Runner (waverunn), I believe there are a few more Model 2 games that are not coming up in the GameEx MAME Model 2 list. ManxTT Superbike (manxtt) Motor Raid (motoraid) Last Bronx (lastbrxa, lastbexp) I've confirmed that my roms are up to date, and all those games boot up and run nicely in the newest version of the emulator (.08a) I've updated my MAME list a few times, and these games are not showing up in the current version (9.43) GameEx list. Thanks!
  3. thanks Tom!
  4. In some future update, can you please add Wave Runner (waverunn.zip) to the Model 2 list in GameEX for MAME. This game was added in vers. .07 of the emulator. Thanks!
  5. here's what I did Start MAME, load robotron, then pause the game. Hit Tab, then go to "input for this game" you will see 2 "sets" of joystick controls, one for Left (P1 left/up, P1 left/left, etc) and one for Right (P1 right/up, P1 right/right, etc). Configure the "Left" for moving with your left joystick, configure the "Right" for shots using your right joystick. hope this helps.

    Joysticks

You can have one stick that "goes both ways". I use Ultimarcâ??s Mag-Stik 4/8 way Plus joysticks on my cab, and they work very good. You switch right from the top of the control panel, all you do is pull up on the stick and twist it to switch from 4 way to 8 way and vice versa. You need no tools, and never have to lift up the cover or reach underneath to switch. I would say that most games in mame use 8 way sticks, and yes they move in 8 directions. The 4 way stick makes a huge difference in the older games that originally used 4 way sticks (pac-man, dig-dug, burger time, Qix, etc.). Here's the link if you are interested: http://www.ultimarc.com/controls.html
  7. Unfortunately the only good multi-sync monitors that I am aware of are 27" (betson and Wells Gardner).
  8. 24.5"is the correct width from bracket to bracket. I don't think the depth will be a problem for you, I would be concerned about the height and the width. I would be really concerned with having less than an inch to spare with your width only 25". My cab had a 33" monitor in it (which by the way seemed too big for most games), so I had to build custom mounting brackets to hold my 27" monitor. You would also most likely have to build some type of mounting system. If you are handy with tools it is very easy rig up different mounts, plus you don't have to worry about how it looks since nobody will see it anyways. Betson also carries black plastic bezels that fit this monitor (get curved), and it is easy to cut to fit into any cabinet.
  9. I have this monitor in my cab: http://www.betson.com/products/IMP-44-4070-RT I also replaced a regular arcade monitor (was also using a JPAC), with this one. The difference is incredible, not just in the front end and windows, but all the games look so much better is it truly amazing.
  10. Brian, this might work fine, but I believe converting all your images to a single region, using a single emulator set-up is the best option. What I would suggest is: 1. Set-up SSF to use the US Bios (or a different one if you prefer) 2. change the region of all your non-US images to US with the "Saturn Region Patcher" (it's a very simple fast process) You can find this program using goggle, a link to the site would not be appropriate here.
  11. Many games still require a bios, so your best option is to convert or "patch" all your iso/image's to one single region, then use that one bios for all games. All games will work with whatever region you set them to as long as you use the correct bios for that region. I assume posting the program here is inappropriate, so I would try goggling "Saturn Region Patcher".

    Thanks HeadKaze!

Very true, the MAME compiler is amazing also. It makes compiling your own version of MAME really simple. Thanks again HeadKaze!
  13. HeadKaze's WinUAELoader works perfectly for me, here is the link: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?sh...amp;#entry33214
  14. I have been trying to get WinUAE working properly with GameEx on my IPAC cabinet for quite some time with no success. Last night I stumbled upon HeadKaze's WinUAELoader while seaching for help, and in no time I had every game working perfectly! Thanks so much Headkaze for this amazing piece of software!
  15. When I had this problem it was due to a corrupted paging file. I believe you need to go into virtual memory and set the paging file to 0 for both min and max (this deletes it), then reboot. Then set it to the proper amount, then reboot again.
  16. Thanks for all the help. A regular 4-pin S-Video cable plugs in, but is very loose fitting. It only displays a completely distorted black and white image. I have emailed Andy for help 2 times (1st email over a week ago), but have not received any reply yet. My TV is NTSC, any everything worked perfectly with my old Nvidia card with the S-video out.
  17. Thanks. I know for sure that a 4-pin will not go in so this must be the problem. It would have been nice to have a cable included, or at least have this mentioned in the documentation or on the web site.
  18. Thx for the reply. Mine is also 2 months old or so, but is AGP. A four pin will not go into mine for some reason, guess I am going to have to open up the cab and take a closer look. thanks again!
  19. I know this is not a GameEx question, but I've been waiting a few days for an email reply from Andy at Ultimarc, and there has been no reply on in their forum to my question. Hopefully someone here can help me out. I want to use a TV as a secondary monitor for my Arcade Cabinet. Can someone with an ArcadeVGA confirm that the TV out connection is 7 pin S-Video. My card is mounted and buried deep in my cab, and I cannot get a good look at it, and I really do not want to tear everything apart if possible. I know a regular 4 pin s-video cable does not work with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  20. lol, agreed!
  21. Yes, that is correct. All the other games work fine, the problem is with the CHD games. I would have to disagree with you about hyper athlete, I think it's a very nice cab head-to-head game.
  22. Thanks! that would be great.
  23. Hi, An IPAC version would be great since I can't map the player 1 controls on my cab's control panel when using the default controller config with the CHD games. Thanks!
  24. Is there a way to get the sound working in Hyper Athete in Zinc? The game runs fine, but no sound. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
  25. These 2 questions are not really GameEx related, but hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. 1. Is there a way to configure a spinner to work with Model 2 games? I have a turbotwist 2 spinner (with steering wheel attachment), and can't seem to get the Model 2 emu to detect it. The spinner/wheel is connected by a USB cable, and works great in Mame without any change in the default controls. I run Model 2 games enabled through GameEx, and my control panel uses an IPAC with the default settings. 2. I can't seem to get NullDC to configure my player 1 buttons. Player 2 buttons work great, and Player 1 buttons configure fine in the emu. But they do not work inside or outside of GameEx when the game runs. I have tried using an advanced config in GameEx, but player 1 buttons still do not work. I really do not want to reprogram my IPAC, since everything works great in mame. Does anyone know a way I can get these buttons to work? Thanks!
