Thanks Brian! The problem was my command line and config, I really appreciate all your help! Everything works great now.
-
It runs them fine outside of GameEx. Where is this default.cdi supposed to be? I don't see this anywhere either.
-
another thing I just noticed when I now try to run NullDC outside of GameEx. I now get an error message saying "Default Image "AEEa" failed to load.
-
Thanks for the reply Brian. I deleted my nulldc config, and then ran it. I then edited and saved the 3 lines you mentioned. I still get the same exact problem, just a desktop. When I hit escape, I return to GameEx. As I mentioned before, your GameEx config posted in this thread has the following line: configFile=nes I don not have any file named that in my GameEx install. Could this be my problem? I will post my GameEx config and my NullDC config again below: GameEx [Emulator_32] Enabled=True DumbyValue= STARTPAGENAME=Sega Dreamcast NullDC TITLETEXT=Dreamcast NullDC StartPageLogo= Brian (or anyone!) I can't seem to get NullDC working. It works great outside of GameEx, but when I run it inside, I just see the desktop. I have your 2 loader files in the correct directory, and I have the config file set as you have it listed, except I don't know what this line is: configFile=nes here is my config file [Emulator_32] Hi, The default bezel for vertical games in GameEx has "Mame" on one side, and "GameEx" on the other. Are there bezel's available that have both left and right with the same for both Mame and GameEx? I saw a picture of one that had "Mame" on both sides on the CPwizard website, but can't seem to find the artwork there or in this forum. Thanks!

Quick Zinc question. Is there a way to get the sound working in Hyper Athete? I am running Zinc as a separte emu for this one CHD game, since the Zinc crashes with the winterblast controller config. Thanks!

Thanks! The FAQ did not come up when I searched the forum.

Hi, Can someone please give me detailed instructions to make GameEX start running on computer startup. I've seached the forum, and tried using the startup folder, but GameEX crashes with an error when it tries to start. I have WinXP home and the most recent version of GameEX. Thanks!

Thanks for all your replies! I ended up buying a very lightly unused Alien vs Predator cab (minus the control panel), and the monitor looks almost new. I must admit that I have had my heart set on a slikstik for many years, but thank God you guys made me aware of the current situation before I invested the 500 bucks on the classic panel. Can anyone suggest another good place that makes a nice control panel? Thanks!

I have been thinking about a "Mame" cab for many years, and have finally decided to start building one. I visited my local arcade/vending dealer, and was shown over 100 non-working cabs for sale. The majority of them were 25" (or smaller) CRT CGA monitors. Most of the cabinets had working monitors, but were missing the games and control panels. I plan on either building a panel, or buying a slikstik and mounting it on the cab. Although I would prefer a 27" multi sync monitor, can anyone tell me what kind of results they have gotten with a CGA monitor using a JPAC and ArcadeVGA card? Thanks!

I did not have that installed. After I installed it, everything works perfectly! Thanks for your fast reply!

I am having problems getting Snap AVI "preview" videos to play in GameEX. A black box appears in the proper format (vertical or horizontal), but there is usually no video or sound. Once in a while I will get a random solid color appear, but no video. The videos are named the same as the roms, and GameEX is configured properly with the correct directory. I have searched the forum for suggestions, but the only one I could find was to disable alpha blending (which did not help). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Core2Duo, 2 GB ram, 8800GTX graphics card. 9.02 GameEX and all the most recent drivers.

I had the same exact problem, and it was driving me crazy until I was able to fix it. I went through extreme measures to correct the issue, but nothing seemed to work. By chance I came across someone that was having the same problem with a different program, so I decided to give that fix a shot with GameEX. What I did was "delete" my paging file in windows (by setting it to zero, removing it), then reboot. Then I reset my page file and rebooted again. This completely fixed the stuttering/choppiness in GameEX. Even though I had a powerful computer with the newest drivers, the problem was that my paging file was corrupt. I posted this fix awhile ago in this forum, you can prob search and find the post. Hope this helps!

0.5 works great for me with the included gameEX wrapper for 0.4. I have not tried using the new 0.5a version yet.

Thanks for the heads up! The current loader seems to work fine for me also.

While you can run both as separate emulators, I believe the built in support in GameEX is far superior. Since you can run Zinc form the command line you could launch each game with a few commands in a .bat file if you really wanted to. The Model 2 emulator does not run from the command line, and requires special scripting to select and launch each game. While this is possible, it is no where near as efficient as the method used within GameEX. The same goes for Zinc in my opinion.

Daytona is on my GameEX rom list. I believe the Daytona rom was updated from MAME 113 to 114, and the Model2 emulator uses the 114 version of the rom. Did you update your MAME rom list?

Thanks Tom and Headkaze, all the model 2 games (including ver. 0.4) are working great!
-
Great job HeadKaze! All the games supported by GameEX (version 0.1 model 2 games) work perfectly now! Thanks!
-
Damn, I'm at work now, then going away fishing for a few days. I will test it out late Sunday and let you know. Thanks a lot Headkaze! Zybex, using the autoit scripts are complete crap when compared to Headkaze's wrapper. The ONLY benefit would be allowing games to be run that are the newer games (Daytona, Desert Tank, etc), which GameEX does not support yet. The best way to run Model 2 by far would be to use Headkaze's wrapper and hopefully Tom can add GameEX support for the newer games soon. If this cannot be done, I guess I could write individual scripts to run those games as a separtate emulator, but I'd rather wait and see if things can be sorted out using the best method.

The list now scrolls because of the increased number of supported games in version 0.4. Even though GameEX only supports v 0.1 games, some of those 0.1 games are on the bottom of the list. Those are the games (besides the GameEX unsupported v0.3 & v0.4 games) that do not work with GameEX (the 2 Zero Gunners, Behind Enemy Lines, House of the Dead, Sega Touring Car Champ and Top Skater)
