  1. I am using windows 7 64 bit fully patched up to date, and I have confirmed (as listed below) that this is not a Windows issue Everything works perfectly outside of GameEx. Everything works perfectly inside of GameEx using an older version of GameEx. I am using .bat files, and they work perfectly outside of GameEx Only SSF seems to be effected. All other emulators seem to work fine. I have attached my .ini and log.txt files from GameEx when reverted back to version 13.08, and everything is working perfectly You can see my SSF not working files for version 14.41 for comparison in my post above. No other changes where made except updating GameEX to the current version To be positive of this, I have just now reverted GameEx back again, tested and SSF worked perfectly (see attached files to this post). I then updated GameEx again to version 14.41 and SSF no longer works (see files in post above). To me, this clearly shows that something has changed with GameEx. Thanks! GameEx13.08.ini log13.08.txt
  2. I do not agree with your statement that "nothing has changed within GameEX" Something has changed, maybe not intentional, maybe it's a new bug, I do not know. The bottom line is with my setup (as detailed above) everything worked perfectly with SSF within GameEx with a previous version. Then with absolutely no other changes, after updating to version 14.40 and then 14.41, SSF no longer works. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  3. Hi, I've done what you have suggested and it did not help. Exactly the same thing still happens. I've attached my config, log and advanced config files Thanks! GameEx.ini Mapping Off Exit (Process Close).ini log.txt
  4. DTools Lite version 4.40.2.0131 I agree that this is what is now happening, but absolutely nothing has changed on my end except updating GameEx. Everything worked in the older version of GameEx, and does not work only after updating. It would seem that I need to add something new to "tell" GameEx to watch SSF.exe, and I do not know how to add that. Can you advise? Thanks!
  5. Thanks for your replies! Here's a recap of whats going on: 1. All of the .bat files, (DTools mounting, SSF running) work perfectly outside of GameEx. (DTools Lite version 4.40.2.0131) example of my .bat files: "C:\Program Files (x86)\DAEMON Tools Lite\DTLite.exe" -mount 0,"C:\segasaturnISO\Iron Storm (U)\Iron Storm.cue" "C:\SSF\SSF.exe" 2. I reinstalled GameEx version 13.08 and everything worked once again perfectly within Game Ex 3. I then updated GameEx to version 14.41 again and the following still happens: Select a game, the .bat file runs, mounts the iso on DTools, SSF starts and shows for a second or two, then shuts down and returns to GameEx. The previous threads regarding GameEx, SSF and DTools all seemed to be regarding Windows 10, and I am using Windows 7 64bit My version of DTools works perfectly within the newest version of GameEx (14.41) with my other emu's that use it (MagicEngine, etc), the only exception is SSF. It would certainly seem that some way GameEx handles a process like this has changed somewhere between version 13.08 and 14.41. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  6. Hi Tom, thanks for the reply! The thing is everything works perfectly outside of GameEx. Also, everything worked perfectly when run from GameEx from one year ago (version 14.2??). The ONLY thing that has changed was GameEx being updated to version 14.41, so it would seem to me to be a GameEx issue. I can certainly try the virtual drive route if that is my only choice, but I would prefer not to if I don't have to.
  7. Hello, When I remove the "cmd.exe /c" SSF does not start "cmd.exe /c" has always been there and it has always worked until GameEx was updated. I tried removing the cmd.exe and/or the /c and it still does not work
  8. Hello Ginsonic, thanks for your reply! Everything worked perfect with my previous version of GameEx (about one year old version). The only thing I have changed is updating GameEx. The .bat files still work perfectly outside of GameEx. The emulator definitely does not keep running in the background, it closes. I am not sure about the two "cmd.exe /c" in my start statement (I am at work now with no access to my Cab), but I know for sure everything worked perfectly fine in GameEx before the update.
  9. Hi Everyone, I've done my once a year update of GameEx on my Cab (I hate updating because new issues seem to always pop up), and SSF no longer works when run from GameEx. Everything worked fine with the year old version of GameEx that I was using previously. I've read through the other recent SSF thread, and that seemed to be Win10 related. I am using Windows 7 64 bit and Daemon tools lite, and the only change i've made to my Cab is updating GameEx. I run my games usinig .bat files, and everything still works perfectly outside of GameEx. Other emulators that also use Daemon tools lite also still run perfectly, this problem only occurs with SSF. When I run SSF inside GameEx, the game mounts in DTools fine, the emulator opens up, but then shuts down right away back to GameEx. SSF does not keep running in the background or crash, it just closes and goes back to GameEx. This is something new that just started happening after GameEx was updated. I have attached my ini and log files, if anyone can possibly help it would be very much appreciated! GameEx.ini log.txt
  10. Okay, I figured it all out. When merged sets are on and you select a game from the main list, all the other versions, regions, clones, etc are listed below the usual spot where you would usually select "play this game" from the next screen. You are given the choice to select whichever version you prefer. Maybe I should update GameEx more than once a year! Please mark this resolved and thanks for all the help!
  11. Currently I only have the option on in one enabled emulator: Emu 5 (sega genesis). I've either removed it from the other emu's, or disabled them completely.
  12. Merge sets is where the problem is. The merge sets option states that it removes all the clones, regions, hacks, etc from the main game list. My Sega Genesis list is huge without this option on and when the option is on, the list is reduced by 75 percent. This all goes back to my previous post listed above, but was never resolved.
  13. If I have "merge sets" option as "Yes" in any emulator, it works as far as the game list is concerned, but when I go to the next screen after selecting a game, the games name is "blue" (not white) and it cannot be selected to play. I figured this out by trial and error since my previous post was never really resolved. http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/12502-resolved-problem-with-a-few-game-lists-and-themes-after-updates/ I am a registered user, and my log and ini are attached. Any help would be appreciated. log.txt GameEx.ini
  14. Update Didn't hear back from anyone, so I decided to just redo each emulator from scratch. They are now working fine, but I don't understand why updating GameEx caused this problem.
  15. Okay, updated to 13.03, and same exact problem with games. All the games appear just fine on the list, but after you select the game and go to the next screen, the game's name is blue, not white, and it cannot be selected to play. This is only happening with N64 and SNES. Updated log and ini is attached. log.txt GameEx.ini
  16. Only 13.02 is listed in the download section. I do not see 13.03 anywhere. Okay, this is fixed. It was just cycling through the "Change View" options. Thanks!
  17. After updating gameex a few versions ago (including the most recent), two of my emulators display all the game lists just fine, but when you select a game, the games name is blue (not white), and it cannot be selected to play. This is only an issue with my N64 (project64) and SNES (zsnes) emulators. Both emulators work fine outside of GameEx. The other issue I am having concerns themes. I am trying to just use the default animated theme with only the blue backround. I can't seem to get rid of the game flyers, etc in the background or the black image. I've redownloaded all the themes, and I've tried all 3 options in the advanced config concerning theme backgrounds, but I've had no success. Any help would be appreciated. GameEx.ini log.txt
  18. Hi Tom, I'm using Win 7/64, should I still try this?
  19. Hi Draco, Thanks! I updated by directly downloading btw, then installing over version 12.98. When I go back to 12.98, everything works fine.
  20. A month or so ago I updated to version 12.98. While most things still worked, my Nintendo 64 and SNES game lists would show the games, but you could not select them to play (the names were "blue", not white). So, I updated to version 13.01, and now I get the message attached to this post in my log. Any help would be appreciated.
  21. Hi Frequency, thanks for your reply! The games only default to exit (other than through the game menu's), would be Alt + F4. You then need to select "Yes", then the game closes. I tried sending keys Alt+F4 after, but that didn't seem to work. How would you suggest I handle this?
  22. I wasn't trying to bump anything, I was trying to edit my post to say that I figured most of it out. I was not aware that anything was posted, sorry. Headkaze's loader needs to be in the main program folder, not the folder with the hotd3pc.exe in it (which is the "exe" folder). The only problem now is when the game exits and goes back to GameEx, the game does not properly close/end, it is actually minimized and still running in the background. If you try to run it again, you get a message saying "the game is already running, etc".
  23. Hi, I know this is an old post, but I'm having trouble getting this working. I copied Headkaze's loader into the folder where hod3pc.exe is located. When I run the loader from GameEx, all I get is a black screen for a few seconds, then it goes back to GameEx. If I run the loader outside of GameEx, nothing happens, but if I then double click on hod3pc.exe, the game runs (usually if you try to run hod3pc.exe, you get a message that it only runs through the loader, so part of it seems to be working). I've tried running the loader, then hod3pc.exe in GameEx config, but I still just get a black screen back to GameEx. I am using Win7 64bit, and I own the CD and am using the "No Cd" hod3pc.exe. Any help would be appreciated!
  24. This topic should be changed to "Resolved". Thanks for the fix in version 11.63 Tom!
