  1. Back when GameEX did not support the Model 2 emulator I wrote (as did others) a bunch of AutoIt v3 scripts that ran it as a separate emulator. The scripts needed exact cursor plotting points, so it really isn't much use for anyone else unless they have the same resolution that I used to plot the points. It was kinda clunky, and didn't always work perfectly, so hopefully someone else can come up with a better solution for running model 2 ver 0.4.
  2. Thanks for your reply Tom. The "older" games that are not working are ones that you would now need to scroll down to select when you select the game (games near the bottom of the list). You can clearly see what happens with the Model 2 emulator when you run GameEX in a minimized window. When the emu selects a game everything works great when you can "see" the game in the rom selection window. The problem and model 2 error message "unable to locate driver for -" happens when it tries to select a game that you would normally have to scroll down first to select. Hope this helps!
  3. Sorry about posting about this again, but this is getting very frustrating. I can't seem to get the newest version of the Model 2 emulator (v0.4) working with GameEX. Only the games from v0.1 are showing on the GameEX "model 2" game list, and many of them when selected do not work at all, (after a black screen and delay they return to GameEX). When I run GameEX in a window I can see that the not working games are not being selected properly (the games that require you to scroll down to select when running the emulator normally), and an error message in the cmd box of model2 says "unable to locate driver for". I have tried updating the rom list, but none of the games added in .3 and .4 show up. I have also tried the loader posted by headkaze, which also does not work for me. I am using the most recent release of GameEX (8.09), and all the roms load fine and work perfectly outside of GameEX. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
  4. I can't seem to get the newest version of the Model 2 emulator (v0.4) working with GameEX. Only the games from v0.1 are showing on the GameEX "model 2" game list, and half of them when selected do not work at all, (after a black screen and delay they return to GameEX). I have tried updating the rom list, but nothing new shows up. I have also tried the loader posted by headkaze, which also does not work for me. I am using the most recent release of GameEX, and all the roms load fine and work perfectly outside of GameEX. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
  5. Go to Options, then Preferences, then check "Switch to Fullscreen on Startup", then click on "OK"
  6. Wow, Daytona playable at 60fps on my Core2Duo! Thanks for the heads up!
  7. I have 2 systems, both with the most recent Nvidia Drivers. Both systems work fine with all games that are supposed to work, in window mode or full screen. System 1 Core2quad, Geforce 8800GTX System 2 P4, 3ghz, Geforce 6200 Maybe it's your monitor refresh rate or resolution? I'm really not sure what else it could be.
  8. What version of SSF are you guys using? With the most recent release (Ver0.08 alpha R5), all games that are supposed to work, work fine in full screen for me. You should check this website for game compatibility http://www.segasaturn.org/
  9. One of my systems has a p4 3.0 gig with a geforce 6200, and it works fine with all screen options. You could try disabling or enabling Enforce Aspect Ratio, VSynch Wait, Direct Draw and Bilinear Filtering in the options for Screen. If it works in windowed mode, I would assume that one or more of these options for fullscreen is causing your problems.
  10. That fixed it for me Tom, all controllers work perfectly! Here's a PS3 controller driver that seems to work well for me in WinXP. sixaxisdriver.zip
  11. Same problem here, only one joystick works even when "All Devices" is selected.
  12. Emph, thanks for the heads up on Raiden 3, it's a very impressive top notch shooter!
  13. I had this same exact problem. After trying just about everything, I noticed that when I ran GameEX it used a ton of system memory, and was constantly accessing the paging file. So deleted the page file (set it to none, then rebooted), and everything worked prefectly in GameEX. I don't know why this caused GameEX to pause slightly, but I assume it is because your page file can get corrupted over time. If this helps you and you do this, you should reset a new page file after rebooting, everthing will work fine with the new file. Hope this helps.

    Model 2 problems

Great Job Headkaze! I had given up on version .3 of the emulator, and was using version .1 with GameEx. Everything works great with version .3 now and the original games, but I cannot get the 2 new games (over rev and sega ski super) to show up on the game selection list in GameEx. I have tried updating the MAME game list, but they still do not show.
  15. How do I choose between PAL and NTSC? I do not see any options for a choice anywhere.
  16. If I can get a few games running, I will try to write up a usable config for GameEX. What settings are you using for Gradius V? The game loads fine for me (either the original game CD or the ISO I created from it), but I only get the now loading, then the Konami Title screens. After that the screen goes black and the fps drop to 15 or so, and nothing else happens. I am using the most recent version (0.9.2) and my comp is a P4 3.0ghz, 1GB ram.

    Model 2 problems

Thanks, but this does not work for me. It starts up fine, but never goes full screen and stays in a small window, and it selects the wrong game (off by one).
  18. Exo, I was having the same problem when I updated the Model 2 emu to version .3 When I updated, I just copied over the 3 new files (EMULATOR.EXE, EMULATOR.INI and m2loader.exe) into the old model 2 version .1 folders. To fix it I had to delete all the files in the CFG and NVDATA folders. Then I had to reconfigure the controls for each game, and everything works great now, outside of GameEX. I cannot get version .3 to run inside of GameEX though.

    Model 2 problems

Thanks for your replies. I believe I tried all the ones posted above in the submitted config area, and none of them seemed to work for me. Could you please link me to the one that works, or repost it here? Thanks!
  20. I'm having trouble running Model 2 games with version .3 of the emulator and GameEX 7.02. I have read the numberous posts below, and tried all the other options listed above in the submitted configs. It seems like the only m2loader that works at all for me is Tom's, but unfortunately it selects the wrong games ( I assume because of the 2 games that were added in version .3). Does anyone have a version that works properly now, or is Tom working on an updated version? Thanks!
  21. I think DieSel is on to something here. If you disable fullscreen ChankEX loads with no error, but you can only hear it and see a black screen. If you change the GameEX config to showdesktop=True, everything works perfectly, except the game is in windowed mode. I thik the problem might be with ChankEX using ESC for fullscreen mode. Headkaze, I see nice improvements in Soul Calibur, Ikaruga and a few other games with ChankEX. The games look better and run faster for me.
  22. Hi, thanks for your fast reply! I am using the most recent version of Daemon tools, and my drive letter and device number match. Unfortunately it is still not working. I tried "commenting" out the lines that do the mounting in your launcher ini file, and did the mounting and unmounting in GameEX config instead. When I did this, everything seems work fine. heres my gameex config [Emulator_29] Enabled=True StartPageName=Sega Dreamcast (ChankEX) TitleText=Sega Dreamcast StartPageLogo=Dreamcast RomFilter=*.bin;*.cdi;*.nrg RomsInFolders=False ROMPath=D:\dreamcast SnapPath=D:\dreamcast\snap TitlePath= BoxPath= CartPath= WorkingPath=D:\ChankEx MapKeys=False WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=True ReplaceUnder=True Capitals=True RemoveBrackets=True ShowDesktop=False Debug=False MapFile= AlsoLaunch= Command=chankast_launch.exe [RomPath]\[RomFile] OLDatZip= LaunchBefore=""d:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools\daemon.exe" -mount 0,"[RomPath]\[RomFile]"" LaunchAfter="d:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools\daemon.exe" -unmount 0 configFile= ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground= PlayMusic= PCGame= DATABASE= GamesIn7Zips=
  23. Thanks so much for updating the launcher, but I cannot seem to get it to work. When I run it from GameEX I get an error that says ChankEX needs to close, and when I run it from the command line I get an error saying it cannot mount the image. I am using Daemon tools Drive G: (Program Files\DAEMON Tools\), my ISO's are in D:\dreamcast, the launcher vers. 1.6 and ChankEX are in D:\ChankEX here is my config for the launcher # Chankast Launch v1.6 -- By HeadKaze [General] # Name of Chankast executable (must be in same dir as chankast_launch.exe) ChankastExe=ChankEx.exe # Set default drive letter Drive=G: # Video Mode (640x480|800x600|1024x768|1280x1024|1600x1200) # 1600x1200 only works with ChankEx Screen=800x600 # Full Screen Mode Fullscreen=True # Force Full Screen Mode (for version < 25) # Can be used with the -screen switch to force a resolution #Forcefull=True # Which program to mount the ISO with (DaemonTools|Alcohol120) MountTool=DaemonTools # Delay in seconds to wait after mounting ISO Delay=5 # Unmount ISO when finished Unmount=True # Define ascii key for exit (27 == ESC key) Exit=27 # Set region of DC flash file (jap|usa|euro) #Region=usa # Process priority (Normal|AboveNormal) #Priority=Normal # Show stats such as FPS ShowStats=False [DaemonTools] Exe=d:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools\daemon.exe Device=0 [Alcohol120] Exe=C:\Program Files\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120\AxCmd.exe Drive=M: [GamePadExit] MapGamePadExit=False Up=False Right=False Down=False Left=False Button1=False Button2=False Button3=False Button4=False Button5=False Button6=False Button7=False Button8=False Button9=True Button10=True #Settings for ChankEx [ChankEx] # Limit FPS (Off|30|60) LimitFPS=Off [soul Calibur] CPU=120 ZWrite=False ZWriteAlpha=False CapcomHack=False CableType=NTSC SCalbrPlyrSelectHack=False SCalbr2DFix=True [ikaruga] CPU=120 IkarugaLevel2Fix=True [sega GT] CapcomHack=True SegaGTLoading=True and here is my config from GameEX [Emulator_29] Enabled=True StartPageName=Sega Dreamcast (ChankEX) TitleText=Sega Dreamcast StartPageLogo=Dreamcast RomFilter=*.bin;*.cdi;*.nrg RomsInFolders=False ROMPath=D:\dreamcast SnapPath=D:\dreamcast\snap TitlePath= BoxPath= CartPath= WorkingPath=D:\ChankEx MapKeys=False WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=True ReplaceUnder=True Capitals=True RemoveBrackets=True ShowDesktop=False Debug=False MapFile= AlsoLaunch= Command=chankast_launch.exe [RomPath]\[RomFile] OLDatZip= LaunchBefore= LaunchAfter= configFile= ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground= PlayMusic= PCGame= DATABASE= GamesIn7Zips= LastGame=False|29|Soul Calibur|Soul Calibur.cdi|Soul Calibur|Sega Dreamcast|5
  24. I can only get it working with launcher 1.3, but only after renaming the exe the regular exe name. Can anyone post the details for getting this to work with 1.5, and if anyone knows what the command line options would be for the Soul Calibur fixes. Thanks!
  25. I detected that the page file was my problem by running GameEX in windowed mode with the windows task manager "performance" running. I noticed that when I ran a game in GameEX that the CPU usage spiked up to 100, and the page file was accessed, and stuttering happened. So, I went into the control panel advanced system properties and checked the option for no paging file on each drive. I then rebooted, and when you do this windows deletes the previous page file. I then tried running GameEX with no page file at all. Everything worked perfect, with no stuttering or pausing. I then went into the options and set up a new page file, rebooted, and everything still worked perfectly. So it would certainly seem that my page file was either fragmented or damaged in some way.
