Patience is the one thing we cannot deal out to people, with an update or a patch I get that these days everything is expected now! But the thing with databases is they take time - a lot of time! The more detailed and comprehensive they are, the longer they take. No matter your system or CPUs etc DB's will eat your comp I considerate it a good sign when DBs eat my CPU Glad you got it sorted though Mikey! Don't hesitate to drop by again if you have more queries, we'll be happy to help.

Hi MikeyMike78, Load the Setup Wizard. Choose Custom > MAME Settings. Scroll down a bit. Find "Only Existing Roms". Change it to "Yes". Boot GameEx. When it asks to "Update List", choose "Yes".

HA! couldn't have said it better myself, ma man! MA MAN.

Having both, i would say invest in a half decent PC. The current gen consoles (PS4/Xbox One) don't stack up in terms of hardware. In fact they both are quite bad in comparison. I could easily build a rig, at a similar price to these consoles and be at least 2-3 times the power. I would say only buy a console for social reasons, if not either build, or get someone to build a custom PC for you.

Now that's my kind of woman! I'd probably wobble and fall off trying to catch up with her, but i'd die trying! @Han, screw the face (no pun intended), looks mean nothing and in all honesty it seems to me you are looking for something that does not exist. If the girls in your home town aren't rockin you, either get on a coach, a boat, a plane, or online and travel the world. There really is someone for everyone, and most likely you'll find if you broaden your horizons, there are even 7,8,9 even more for every person. #0rg135ftw

Be aware also, that a free account at Emumovies will be slower than a subscription (with a daily limit also usually). I'm not familiar these days with the options but you most certainly get faster downloads and more content if you sub.

I'm sure RedDog is right. I remember having trouble with this a while ago. Remember though that the ori-GameEx theme editor was put in as a bonus, and look what members have achieved with it! As for Evo i don't know, but watch the vid in slo-mo... there are shadows, outlines, gradients! That's enough for me and as far as i know, the devs are still going full leather since. Banana fonts FTW!

Hey Stigz, Unfortunately this is not how Customs Menus works. Many people have requested this and it would take some work to acclomplish, i too would like to see it happen. But, to put it bluntly, when broken down, Custom Menus in their simplest of forms are just shortcuts. They have no special properties and do not adjust any system files within the FE itself. All they do, in a very convenient way, is link to systems that have already been set. Just like if you installed a program in your OS, you made a shortcut on your desktop, you then altered the SHORTCUT, but not the program itself, Custom Menus work on that level. They only refer to the base program, and if that gets altered... the shortcut is rendered void or at least a new shortcut should be made. You get me?

I worry bout you two sometimes. Mental mofo's

This is on Xbox One early access, it's not released till Tuesday, using my Elgato HD I literally just recorded my first boot of the game, not having played the demo or any preview, hence why i hit a few of the barriers lol. Can't wait to get into this, coz yes tthurman, horizon is NFS-esque! i love it coz of that Not to mention the art/decal side of things which all forza fans are aware Come race me guys! PS: If you buy the MS Store version of the game, you not only get the XB1 version, but also the W10 version too! I plan on making this game look sweeeet hehehe

Forza Horizon 3 - in my own words/vid. Hey, i ain't the best driver, but you can't deny the vid quality

This behavior is almost always a permission issue. Either you have installed GameEx in a non-default location (C:\GameEx), you are using an external/network drive to run GX, or the profile/account you are using doesn't have admin privileges. This can also happen even if all the above are void BUT your roms are on a separate drive or don't have admin access. I would also check that your AV/security program is not blocking access - they are quite aggressive these days Above all else:

You get so good so fast MO! I'm sure X has something up his sleave though Nope, i hate that too, for the same reason

I'm all for this! I've been an advocate for this kind of comp for a while now. If we can get enough people to join a Steam group, who own FX2, we could get a real outstanding league going, even using the free table if we must. All you need to qualify for the free table is a legit Steam account. To make your account 'legit' all you need to do is make ONE purchase, there is no monetary limit to this! Meaning, you can find a game that costs $0.19, purchase it and now you have a fully activated account. It doesn't matter what game you buy, all you need to do is buy SOMETHING. Once you have an activated account, you can play the free FX2 table as much as you like! Download it here.

I'd say that's about right

I'll say it everytime - when working on your romset using any auditing software: use a copy coz shizz happens! Even vets make mistakes
-
RIP-Felix is right, MAME is one of trickiest emulators to grasp. It's not like standard emulators in any way, in fact i would go as far to call it an "anti-emulator" Even now RIP-Felix is admitting defeat on the auditing side, yet another PITA part of keeping MAME working. Whom i would consider an intermediate/semi-pro MAME user! It's not easy keeping MAME functional, and i would take Felix's advise: take a time-out and setup some of the more 'normal' emulators in GE. You'll not only find out how easy 'regular' emulators are to setup and run, but you'll also get to know GameEx itself better PS: RIP-Felix - try RomCenter, it does all that clrMAMEpro does, but with a gui and clear instructions

So, in summary, Tom was on the right track! Would you mind giving a list on the systems that are still causing trouble in the test build, followed by new versions of your .ini and log? It be well appreciated i'm sure!
-
This is a great example on why we recommend official MAME builds, with default GE paths This (from your .ini): MAMEPath=S:\\Emulators\MAME ROMPath=S:\\MAME ROMS A double slash denotes a network drive, correct? If so you must give this drive admin permissions in order for GameEx to run correctly (or at least the folders it needs to access). Another thing to consider, as you're running a non-supported version of MAME, is that the commands are compatible. Try running MAME outside of GameEx with the commands you have set in the .ini: -nowindow -joy -skip_gameinfo It may well be that your modded MAME doesn't like these commands.

I have a hunch (admittedly without looking at files) that Gildahl is using MAME to run said categories (systems), of which GameEx treats as one emulator. Hence why one "view" is affecting them all. The reason being (my train of thought) is that Favorites is handled as a separate entity and seems to keep settings, but as soon as any kind of MAME list is changed, they all change. I'm assuming that 'Golden Age Arcade', 'Arcade Hall of Fame', and 'Laserdisc' are all using MAME? Test any non-mame setups you have to determine if it is a global thing, we can then rule it out

Even though you already had a valid key, i think there was a a cutoff date if i remember correctly (after 2013?) to use the new online features of GameEx. For that reason i would use your new key, and make sure to update GameEx to the latest version. Then all you need to do is enter your forum details in to the new Setup Wizard, go here and marvel at, link to, and brag about all your new stats to your friends Also by doing so, you can begin to build your profile for Evo, which will be integrating all of this data and more in to the FE itself, or so they say (disclaimer: i am speculating, i have no idea or proof seriously, i don't!)

LMAO! It's funny coz it's true They went to see the Middleman and he promptly arranged an appointment with their boss. Eager to resolve the issue, frontman Tony pleaded with her asking "Alice, What's The Matter"? No one really knows what was said that day, but shortly after, they hastily tried To Make Friends And Influence People. Needless to say it didn't work out and they ended up drinking themselves into Oblivion.

Yeah i made sure i checked all that before i posted, i did 3 times again just now, but no matter where i look i don't see any way to change my sig?! I see everything else, but no sig section I'm either blind, neurotic, or it's not there I'd bet the first two if i'm honest, but i just can't find the sig part! EDIT - It was in Account Settings lol i never thought to look there for sig. These forums have changed so much since i was last here hehehe PPS: When i see that worm i'm looking where his brother at

If i understand your query correctly, you cannot rearrange "Most Played" or "Last Played". However if you do use custom menus, you can arrange any top level menu item in any fashion. This not only includes systems, but any menu item such as YouTube, Weather, DVD's, Music etc. So with Custom Menus you could do this: [Arcade] MAME [Arcade] Daphne [Console] ColecoVision [Console] IntelliVision Or this if you wanted: MAME Daphne ColecoVision IntelliVision Or even this if you're slightly crazy: [Console] ColecoVision [Arcade] MAME [Console] IntelliVision [Arcade] Daphne There is a lot more to Custom Menus than many first realise, and in my opinion is one of the most significant ingenious features that Tom ever implemented into GameEx. No other FE does this with such ease and flexibility to this day, and i would happily pay for it alone, over and over again. I did write the guide after all

I too am hoping it is more than just a "3D cab" spin off. The glimpse at theme scripting is what piqued my curiosity. Firstly, imagine instead of a static "system image" you have a fully rendered 3D object (a SNES for example) that you can rotate, zoom and pan etc using nothing more than a few buttons on your controller. Also as you mention, which i'm more intersted in, is building a theme from such objects! I'm thinking slide out animated menus, zoom features and much more. I wouldn't like to put any more pressure on the devs at this point as their task is mammoth as it is, but until we get any kind of confirmation we can dream, right?!
