  1. Like Katuuz said - go into your GameEx config [sTART -> All Programs -> GameEx -> Configuration ], select the emulator (ZSNES in this case) and navigate to the page that has the following option: MapKeys - Yes (1st config on page 2) You can enable this for ALL your emulators and [ESC] will be your exit key for all of them. For an added bonus, open your ZSNES folder and open zsnesw.cfg in your text editor. Locate this line: ; GUI Disable (1 = Disable GUI, 0 = Enable GUI) GUIDisable = 0 Change it to this: GUIDisable = 1 Save and exit. By the way, if you plan to use zsnesw.exe outside of GameEx, you'll have to change this back since you won't be able to select a ROM from the GUI (cause it's disabled!) Hope that helps.
  2. Hey everyone. I'm having a little issue with ZINC. Perhaps someone can help me out since you're all the coolest forum members on the entire planet. Now that the butt kissing has been covered... For some reason when I play ZINC games (like SFEX for example) my computer will freeze up about 10 minutes in to the game and I have to hard start it (hold in the power button until it turns itself off). Not sure why, maybe I have a configuration wrong or something. Anyone who can provide me a step by step on setting ZINC up properly so I can see what I'm missing? Much appreciated.
  3. Worked for me.
  4. When I threw together the config pack I had an emu pack that went with it. Sorry, I forgot to mention that version of NeoRage was hacked... That was the only version I was able to get up and running on my GameEx FE and I had to download the whole torrent. I'm going to try the new version Nologic posted a link to after work and hopefully that will work better for us all. Just a side note: NeoRage is the nit-pickiest emulator I had to set up, next to Chankast.
  5. Should, yes. But the biggest benefeit of 7z and GoodMerge is the option of stripping unneeded code from various ROMs... You could .zip on best compression and still be pretty close to .7z so it may just be a lot of time spent and not much result. Hope that helps!
  6. This is pretty darn sweet! Love the ease of use and easy access to all the emulators themselves. The sad thing is... I feel like I've been outsourced. No more EMU questions and I'm gonna be one bored mother hugger. Excellent work youse guys. .:. EDIT .:. Is there no way to select -CUSTOM- for language from the Setup Wizard?
  7. Sorry Night... Another update to the theme. Ultra Edition 1024x768 The newest version includes: Sleek new toolbar with redesigned buttons and full GameEx functionality! Newly redesigned MAME icons (thanks Amos & Firebrand for your contributions) Super Mario World based intro music and sound effects (Intro movie coming soon) Custom backgrounds for several popular emulators Newly redesigned Dialog boxes Tons more cool stuff! I'm currently working on the intro movie as well as lower resolutions for this theme. Hopefully you'll enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed putting it together. Preview screens: MAME Icons: Thanks for your support, and remember kiddies: GameEx loves you! Ultra Edition 1024x768
  8. GoodMerge is what you're talking about. It merges like roms in one 7z file, ie: Mario Bros (U) Mario Bros (JA) Mario Bros [!] Mario Bros (V1.0) Mario Bros (V1.1) becomes something more manageable: Mario Bros.7z and all the previously mentioned files are in one 7z file. It tidys up your list and ultra-compresses your files to save room on your HD. I highly recommend this. Learn more about GoodMerge and 7-Zip. (You'll need the command line version!) Need further assistance ask away.
  9. Anywhere you can have decals or signs made / custom printing work done does this... Bring a hi-quality original and your plexiglass strip and they'll even lay it on for you nice and clean.
  10. This also happens with EMU databases... I reported it earlier in the theme editor. Anybody know how to fix this or is it a bug?
  11. You can also add it to the theme.ini like this: Open your theme.ini in a text editor. Put the cursor at the bottom and paste this line [Emulator_1] CustomBackground= Repeat this for each of your emulators (where Emulator 1 is your Playstation emulator for example) [Emulator_1] CustomBackground=psbak.png Repeat for each emulator you want to use a custom sceen for, like this [Emulator_1] CustomBackground=psbak.png [Emulator_2] CustomBackground=n64bak.png [Emulator_3] CustomBackground=snesbak.png [Emulator_4] CustomBackground=nesbak.png [Emulator_5] CustomBackground=gbabak.png ...and so on. Save and exit. Hope that helps!
  12. I'm pretty sure you gotta make the movie match the resolution for the intro. Hope that helps!
  13. Haha! I suppose it's time for me to update again. Seems like I just got done doing this!

    Glitch or bug?

He's right. The flip was introduced aboud 10 versions back - it'd be awesome for the people who use a cocktail cabinet so I never used it. I'm not experiencing any slowdown at all when flipping so I dunno. *shrugs*
  15. Perfect! I can't tell you how many hours I spent on that damn game!
  16. Well, here's the way it is. Again, thanks to Amos for supplying the letter 'M' I used as a border, and thanks to Firebrand for the idea and the sweet ADULT XXX logo. Enjoy these MAME icons by unzipping them to your theme's LOGOS folder. ADULT XXX ATARI CAPCOM GOLDEN ERA LIGHTGUN ALL MAME GAMES MULTIPLAYER NEO GEO MAME ORIGINALS SEGA MODEL 2 SPINNER TRACKBALL VECTOR ZINC Hope these liven up your GameEx a little bit.

Cna I use clrMAMEpro to rename my MAME ROMs so they'll run in WINAWAKS or do I have to go find these specifically for this emulator?
  19. Say... I noticed you are missing some emulators - most notably the 7800, 5200, 2600, Coleco Vision, Intellevision, and Turbo Grafx 16. Any way you'd be willing to post your .psd files for this theme? I love what you've done with the MAME Adult XXX logos - so I'm gonna try and round out the set. Spankin idea! I also thought you might like a toolbar, so I added mine - almost adds an extra touch of class if ya ask me. Check the pic I posted and if you like that I can upload it to ya and tell ya what I had to change to impliment it in your theme. Excellent work. Thanks.

LING - Thanks in advance. I'm excited to try this. NOLO - You try using Oscar's Renamer? It's like a text editor interface, and you can rename files in large numbers in no time. I've been using it on my GoodMerge Snaps project - it's been about as easy and quick as it gets.
  21. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a nice Hi-res wonder boy scan/pic since I had the same idea (that's the only game I really play on the SMS anyway). Just not alot of SMS Hi-res art out there for some reason. For the 2600 - Wouldn't a Combat tank or the dude from Pitfall be cool since they were big 2600 games?
  22. Yes... I suppose so. The favorites list is okay, but I like the list on the emu page better. I only use the favorites list for MAME since when people use my cab that's usually what they're after. Just personal preference.
  23. .:Double Post:. Sorry bout that.
  24. Here's what you got: On each emulator game selection screen, there's a list of 5 or 6 different games, which are indented. Then a space, and then the list starts from the top alphabetically. The first game on that list is the last game you played, and the others that follow are most played for that emulator (from greatest to least times played). This feature was really added for those of us who have 1000+ ROMs for a system (PSX is a good example) but have been playing, say, Final Fantasy VII alot lately and want to save time not having to scroll the list to find it. I fairly sure this option is not user-configurable, so we all have it wether we like it or not. I, for one, tink it's a nice touch. Hope that helps!

Okay.... Now for those of us that are a little on the comp-illiterate side, could someone post a complete step by step walkthru on how to set this one up... Download links... etc? I would be extremely greatful.
