    Speed up.

Most of the Core 2 Duo's are REALLY good overclockers. With a little research on your motherboard you could probably get a huge speed increase without even switching from air cooling. I'd get a good $30-50 CPU fan for it though. I have seen articles showing a 2 GHz increase on many of them. If you could get it to even 2.75 or 3.00 GHz you'd be flying. It might or might not make a difference in KI2, but at least down the road you'll know you have a ton of extra performance to tap if needed. Also, you could try some other avenues as well....I use an Althon 64 3400+ and it works pretty well for me. I guess it does stutter a little, but I never really found it too distracting. Just me though
  5. What rom is it running? Looks like that screen has some burn-in. Does it not have a joystick? Pretty cool though! It'll be a great MAME cabinet if the hardware isn't salvageable.
  6. Are we to assume you can run the roms from the command line outside of GameEx without issue?
  7. sorry! Be sure and read some reviews first, though. I don't know anything about that particular one except the price.
  8. You can run a Surface Scan in Windows. If you right click on the drive in Explorer you can run diagnostics on it. Choose to do a full surface scan and it will look for bad spots. Also you can use a program like Sandra Standard to check the diagnostic codes in the firmware of the drive. They should give you a decent idea of the drive's health. And just so you know.... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822136077 Hope that doesn't make you too sick

    nod32

I use an IPAC and NOD32 without problem. My IPAC works FLAWLESSLY. Being an unprotected circuit board probably isn't a safe job.
  10. Anyone who spends time with the software and our community will quickly see that "extra features" isn't necessarily what you are registering for. I am not sure I use any of the extra features--I don't even know what they are. The value for me was knowing that I was keeping features coming and keeping Tom financially able to keep working on it. If you can afford a computer, you can afford $20 or so to register. So my bottom line is: I didn't register for features, I registered out of respect. That probably doesn't even answer your question, but that's my answer

    project64 setup

This usually has to do with your command line options being a problem. Spaces in your path can be a pain. Post your log, and Project 64 GameEx config settings.
  12. alright! I love that external apps have all the same options now too. Thanks Tom!
  13. Update is on the main menu. Looks to me like you just have a bad MAME32 command line. Try your command outside of GameEx (from in the GameEx program directory), get that working, then add it to GameEx.

    New HTPC

Yeah I was busy tonight and missed The 4400. I'll have to watch it tomorrow!

    pong

Wow. Doesn't take much to offend you. bkenobi said he didn't think Pong was that much fun either, but you didn't roll your eyes at him. No, I don't think, except for nostalgia purposes, that Pong is that fun. Yes, that is opinion. There are lots of opinions on here, and the ones I don't agree with don't ruin my day. Lighten up! And regarding my "elaborate" 3 line explanation: I apologize for answering your question! My bad! It will never happen again! Yeah Ben, PlasmaPong is pretty sweet. The increasing beat music is a nice touch. Will
