  1. So it's not just me going nuts over here. Haha!

    Key Mapping

I think he's referring to controlling the GameEx GUI. Ihave all my PS2 controllers actively controlling the menu, so I figure this must be more closely related to your X-Arcade stick. All I had to do was set up one controller and select Use All Attached Devices in the Input Settings of the Advanced Settings. Since all four of my controllers on the PC run through the same adapter, they all work just fine. I edited custuminput.ini directly from this section, since I knew Button 1 was Square, two was Triangle, and so on. I'm not sure if this helps you or not...

    Headkaze:

Hey Headkaze (or Nologic, or anyone else who can write in C#)... Can you possibly make a plugin that does one of the following two things: 1) Mirrors whatever's on the first monitor to the second monitor while GameEx is running on a two monitor setup (including emulators) *preferred*, or 2) Displays the GameExtender on a second monitor? I'm working on a new idea on the cab. I want to mount another 17" monitor on the top of the marquee for spectators to watch. It gets a little crowded when we're having NBA Jam tournaments and there's 20 people crowded around my 27" monitor. All I can really do to help is test, since I'm not good enough to use VB just yet. My classes won't be starting until I get past all my pre-req classes and I don't want to wait a whole year for a feature like that. I really would appreciate it...
  4. So... Are these sets included with the current set of MAME games (0.114)?
  5. Tom: Could you please help me figure out why Auto Update doesn't work for me? It stopped working several builds ago. It doesn't even work on the laptop and I started installing from scratch after the .NET framework update came out... Marchish I think was when I put it in. I have deleted all .exe files on my cab as was previously mentioned. and GameEx is not firewalled. I manually added all GameEx's exe files to my allowed list. Any insight would be great.

Did you try to reinstall the plugin?

@ Nolo: That would have saved a bit of time in my VPinMAME setup, that's for sure! And the ZiNc_Wrapper.exe would have certainly been a bit easier to get up and running... But I'll wait for the next build before I get all crazy on it. It's basically Joy2Key right now.
  8. If GameEx was a woman, I'd make it wash my dishes. Joking of course! Awesome job Tom! Thanks! And happy easter to everyone.
  9. Ahh... The sweet feel of a dual core processor... Well worth the purchase! I love how smoothly (most of) my CHD games run already, and now Model 2 is even mo' bettah than before. Vista has kind of grown on me...
  10. All these systems work in gameex and many emus are set up via the Setup Wizard. Jaguar doesn't work well period. Heck, MESS covers a lot of these systems all by itself.
  11. @BK - Definately a grey area, but I will say that almost every site that hosts videos also hosts ROMs so a link to said site would be definitely off limits.
  12. It is possible. Again, I'm on my Vista machine so I can't install this wrapper. I'll download it and see. Just a sec. .::EDIT::. I'm not sure where I sent you to download that since I think I sent the link when I was changing servers. ConfigHQ has the full download here instead. Also, it was called ZiNc_Loader.exe instead of ZiNc_Wrapper.exe My fault. Joy2Key is in the KN1 folder I assure you.
  13. Issue #1: In the Advanced MAME Settings of GameEx, you have to point the zinc.exe line at ZiNc_Wrapper.exe instead of ZiNc.exe - You only point it at ZiNc.exe if you're updating your MAME game list within GameEx. Issue #2 - Yes, you are right on. The Joy2Key.exe is in the ZN1 folder. You got it in there I'm pretty sure.
  14. How's that in comparison to Chankast? I mean, how many games are fully playable as opposed to Chankast? No need to mount images anymore? Easier setup?
  15. Your Emulator Path is not correct for Emulator 1. You either have to fix that or disable it altogether.
  16. It's going to be a lot of trial and error from here, my friend. In the CONTROLS folder within the ZiNc directory, you have to manually change your button assignments for each game. Make sure you also set up the Settings.ini file to match your appropriate ROMS path. I just point mine at my MAME ROM directory. There's no easy way to really figure out which button is which. What I did was I used Aldo's ZiNc FE and entered them in (in a seperate folder of course) and then copy and pasted the button assignments into my files in the CONTROLS folder. As far as Joy2Key goes, you can open Joy2Key.exe and edit the key assignments easily that way. I used Street Fighter Alpha to test all my button assignments and once I got them just right, I set the controls up like that for all my other games in that BIOS. Then, I moved on to the next one, and so forth, and so on... Don't get into a frenzy, bud. It took me a week or so to get everything just so.
  17. Yes. So many things have been changed and/or implimented since then you should go look at the release history and see for yourself.
  18. The configs that ZiNcGUI operates aren't for the wrapper I use. The wrapper has it's own configs for controllers. That's currently the only way I know that makes all the games run properly. Can't do much for GameEx with the GUI I'm afraid. The problem is this: GameEx parses a command line argument to ZiNc, but it can't do that on a game-by-game basis. The wrapper, however, can do just that. That's the only way I'm aware of that you can make the appropriate settings for each ZiNc game. If you want tu use the ZiNcGUI your options are very limited I'm afraid... ZiNc tweaking gets kind of advanced, but I (and a handful of others here) have it working just right for all the games it's capable of emulating. Bottom line: Trust me. You should use the wrapper if you want all the games to run.
  19. This is not possible at this time (as far as I'm aware). You'd be better off putting this in the Feature Request thread.
  20. S11 and ZN1 and 2 games all use seperate configs on a per-BIOS basis, as well as a per-game basis. You have to make sure you change all your controller.cfg files to suit your setup. All these files are already included in the wrapper I told you to download earlier. I responded to your KN1 games problem in the other thread, but you should probably be aware that if you don't have the chd's you can't run them at all. Also, be advised that most (if not all) of these games aren't even in English, so unless you're persuing a full ROM set, you probably won't ever play KN1 games anyways.
  21. This should already be implimented in the ZiNc loader I guided you towards. We ended up using the loader to launch Joy2Key when loading these games. If you have the right download, Joy2Key should already be in there and you can set it up to work with your controller layout. I can't tell you exactly what directory it's in since I'm on my Vista machine and this wrapper doesn't work on Vista. Dig around in the file you were in to get your other games working properly, there's a Joy2Key.exe in there. You can set your controller up on a per-game basis from the .ini files that are in there.
  22. If you're not using vanilla MAME, I don't think the series info displays correctly. Are you using MameFX or Mame Plus? It's just a guess...
  23. Okay. First things first. Download this wrapper. Then follow these instructions: It's a lot easier than you're making it on yourself. Just take a deep breath and give it a try. Use the Advanced MAME settings if you want this to work with your MAME games, or use the Standalone if you want to set it up like a seperate emulator.
  24. Have you tried using Nologic's wrapper? There's a post on the forum about it here. It basically launches a custom control config for each game without having to set each one up independantly. Read more about that here. It's pretty easy to get going, but we're here to help if you need it.
  25. Heya. When you run the GameEx installer (NOT the Setup Wizard) select English -Custom- as your installation language and it won't change. Hope that helps!
