  1. Unfortunately, EMPH, I do not have this issue. I have my Adult games and my Mahjong games filtered as well, and I haven't noticed any of either showing up on my screensaver... With the exception of emulated games like SNES and NES and such. My screensaver runs most of the day so I can't say that for sure, but I can't say I've ever seen an adult or mahjong game from MAME since I disabled them and updated my game list. Sorry, bro... Definately could be due to your MAME build... MAMEFX it was, right? I use Vanilla MAME so I may not be the right person to answer your question.
  2. Three ways to accomplish this: Put al your game shortcuts in one folder and show .lnk files as your ROM filter. **NOTE:There's a config in GameEx for this already. Simply import the PC Games.ini file under the emulator settings menu. Method two is to set each one up under More Games & Programs (which is the method I use for Flash games). This won't launch the CD though, so you may be better off using Option 3... Method three is to set each one up individually and place each game in the new 'Emulator Group' tab. Like, say, You Don't Know Jack is Emulator #6, LEGO Star Wars is Emulator 8, etc. Then, under group 1, you would put the emulator number in the appropriate field, and you would name the group PC Games. Hope that helps!
  3. There's a setting to turn this off under the Emulator setup tab in your Advanced Configuration. I believe it's on the third page (next to last). You can also turn off the 'Display Last Game' setting. If you merely want to disable the 'Add To Favorites' option in the Game Selection screen, you need to disable the Game Info page altogethter and just set GameEWx to launch the game straight away. If you use GoodMerge, I don't believe this option is possible. I hope that helps!
  4. ...and it's already out for PSP.
  5. As I said before, it would really help out if we could see your config...
  6. -UNRELATED- So... Let's see the tattoo! I have 9 of 'em. Big fan of ink... Especially when it's done right.

Mostly gif files are used because they're much quicker to download when viewing the site. Typically I make thumbnails in gif and link them to png files for a 'click here to see full size image'. Nowadays since almost no one uses dialup, there isn't much concern. JPG files can't have transparent backgrounds but are smaller than png files. and gif combines efficiency of JPG with the features a PNG has. Really it's an image format that was intended to decrease load time on pages and nothing more.

I obviously can't help you with the design aspect, but if you need any html help, PM me. Keep up the great work Amos!
  9. I can't answer your first question without seeing your config. My guess is you have the path put in wrong... But I can't be sure without seeing it first.

Very nice! I wish I had the abilities you do Amos! Fantastic site!!
  11. Love the group idea, but it would be a lot cooler if I had the ability to preserve the tree... Group 1=Nintendo Subscreen=Console Menu (N64, NES, SNES) Then if I were to click SNES from there, it would pull the SNES games up and I'd still have the databases and everything instead of a huge pile of games for all these systems. Group 2=Sega Group 3=Handhelds Group 4=Computers Group 5=PC/Flash Games etc. However, in a Disk/Cartridge for a single computer emulator situation, this seems to be a good idea. I just figured it was more than what it was. Thanks for the update! Great work as always, and happy easter!
  12. Some emulators need to be set up ooutside of GameEx. PJ64 and ZSNES both require you to set them to launch in fullscreen either through the GUI or the emulator's .cfg or .ini file. This may possibly be your issue, so try and do aa little 'tweaking' and see what happens.

Didn't even realize Catalyst had a cloning option. My fault! This is exactly the option I was hoping to find! I'll try it out on the PC first and get back to you. Thanks!!!!
  14. So you do or don't have ShowDesktop= set to True for these emulators? (Advanced Config, Emulator xx, Page #3)
  15. Do you have the 3rd button mapped as a GameEx control button on your joypad? ie does the 3rd button do something when you're in GameEx? Like ESC or back or enter or what have you? Oh, my fault. I think you mean how do you program a button to run the game from the screensaver... My fault.
  16. I'm not even sure what BlueMSX is to be honest... Let me hit up the Wiki and see what the deal is there. .:>EDIT<:. Does this emulator use /diskB as well? If so, can you try and use that? The way you have it typed in the Command= section is exactly what is parsed to the emulator. If you could post the readme for your version of BlueMSX I may be of more assistance... To satisfy my own curiosity, how many games are available for this? It looks pretty cool from the screenies I saw... .:>Edit #2<:. Why do you need to use SendKeys for the disks and not the cartridges? Also, can you try setting the Show desktop to True and see if an error window pops up or not?

How does a splitter impact on quality of picture? 27" would show a lot of flaws and noise if they were there... So it's not really an option if picture quality is reduced any. Incidentally, my Video Card seems to have three outs on it actually... One is for a regular monitor (VGA?), the other is for a hi-def monitor (DVI?) ... (I had to get an adapter to run two standard monitors on a PC), and the third appears to be S-Video (TV). Outputs aren't an issue there... Maybe there's just a problem with my methods but like I stated, my primary monitor runs GameEx when I launch it and the secondary monitor always shows the desktop unless it's MAME. Not much fun to look at really.

    BezelVersion

@EMPH: I hadn't noticed this... Ary you trying to use a custom bezel or no? If the answer's no, what's the difference between 1 and 2? My bezels all work and they look exactly the same (I use a custom bezel so I would definately notice something like that)...
  19. The issue there is that it saves the file as Emulator 1, Game 117 and so forth and so on... except in GameEx talk (as far as I can determine). Therefore, if Emu 1 Game 117 is NES Castlevania II, and you put VPinMAME there instead, then Emu 1 Game 117 becomes Getaway II or what have you. Since that's the case, GameEx won't know the difference between the emulators if you move them. The problem is here that I really don't even know where or how GameEx saves this information. I just deleted everything in the DATA folder before I downloaded and updated GameEx when I got everything just the way I wanted it. Sorry to bear bad tidings, but I hope I was helpful otherwise.
  20. When I had this issue, it was because Norton was launching to ask permission to allow GameEx to access the internet. I set the permissions permanently (Always Allow GameEx.exe, GameExtender.exe and AutoUpdate.exe) and never encountered this problem again. Perhaps this is your problem as well?
  21. When I had this problem I just deleted the favorites list and rebuilt it. I hope that helps ya...

Kaze: Yes, I actually use two monitors at home on the PC. The problem is that the ROM only broadcasts to the main monitor... Except for MAME that is (there's a command line in MAME that does exactly what I need... Except for on two monitor games like NSS and PC10 and such). The second monitor always shows my desktop when GameEx runs... which doesn't solve the problem. As for displaying the GameExtender on a secondary monitor, the option is there but it has never worked for me. What I really wanted was just a mirror image of what's playing on Monitor 1 to broadcast on Monitor Two as well... instead of showing my desktop. I guess if MAME can do this, I can't understand what's so complicated about rendering the exact same thing on the other monitor. I have plenty of RAM and I have a splendid video card, so it shouldn't be an issue.
  23. Not that I'm trying to jack this thread (Arr!) but what exactly is the benefit to Nebula over ZiNc and MAME besides netplay?
  24. Of course... I actually have a real DC for Soul Calibur, House of the Dead, Crazy Taxi, Space Channel 5, Jet Set Radio, etc. It seems to have me somewhat spoiled and reluctant to try getting a DC emulator up and going on the cab. I'm aware of that. But that's merely an opinion. I love my DC and since Chankast is such a pain in the @$$ I haven't even attempted to get it running properly. An easier to use EMU would be the reason I would add my games to the cab...
