I think in the case of VJ, you may only need a wrapper since I think the problem is no CLI support and therefore no way to load the files directly without using the GUI. You may want to ask Nologic about that. Hope that helps!

Neither of these work as of this writing. Neither of these emulators are any good IMHO, and I only keep Jaguar on my GameEx list for the 'bling' factor. Sorry.

Kaze... Let me start by saying how cool this is! You can bet your a$$ that I'd donate just because of all the coding you've already done. Even if I never use this (which I will!) Wish I could be more helpful... Just let me know what I can do to help. I've been excited about the project since you first mentioned it! Command.dat is a great addition to my vanilla MAME! Perhaps you could tie graphical filters in for emulators that don't support them? I mean like super eagle and sai and the lot... I don't know that this is even possible. Just throwin it out there...

You can set your time under the settings menu. For example, I'm in the mid west, so I use GMT -6 Hours for Central Time. My post times are correct. I assume you have this on default which would put you on Tom's time over on the other side of the big pond.

When it's more than just a game... It's GameEx.

I cut my black cardboard (which was fr mounting photos and art and such... Seems like 8-ply is a good estimate.) with a Stanley knife, sanded the edges slightly with a fine grade of sandpaper, and I used a model paint pen to color the edges. Then I sprayed a clear gloss on the 'cardboard' and applied the decals. It looks great and will resist the wear and tear of sunlight and such. Construction paper or what have you is just too flimsy and thin and fades over time.

I don't use GameTap either for obvious reasons. This worked great. Thanks Brian!

I suppose this is a silly question, but my brother wants to set up GameEx and he has a GameTap account. Any way he could set this up as an emulator, or is he stuck using the HTML section? He says it's fine either way, but the list would look nicer if it were in the 'emulators' section instead of on the front page.

I STILL haven't tried this emu... Is there command line support yet? I heard that was a WIP.

That's the problem! Use MAME to make the videos then switch back to MAMEFX after the videos are made.

So you have MAMEFX set up under an emulator tab or as your primary MAME install?

Do you have ZSNES V2 selected in the Advanced Emulator Config for GameEx?

Well... If you select 'Create Snaps' under an emulator, a box should pop up in the top left. You then go from 'Uncompressed Frames' to whichever codec you intend to use. As I previously stated, I use DivX. However, this only works for emulators. If you have MAMEFX in place of Vanilla MAME, the create videos option takes MNG movies, and you'll need to put in Vanilla MAME or MAME32 to take mng snaps and then switch back when you're done. The mnger only works for me with official MAME builds. Hope that helps!

NEStopia has an option to 'supress warning messages' under Options.

They differ, but if you have a full MAME set (I'm sure you do!) you can rebuild your roms to work with WinKawaks, FBA, etc with a manager app (like clrMAMEpro). If you have the NeoRageX ROM set, you can re-build from that set too I think (don't quote me on that though).

And do you know how to select the codec when you launch the encoder app? I actually use DivX for snaps, so I couldn't tell you how to go about fixing this if its a FFDShow problem...

Probably not a recognized extension. Can you zip it into .rar instead? That should do the trick.

QFT Kaze hit this right on. GameEx will always send this argument when launching MAME with Display Bezels switched 'on'... I'm pretty certain of this.

Call me a noob, but isn't there a way to prioritize the layers and tables? Loading your Ad Syndication in the background using CSS? Not sure if you're even using a style sheet for the portal, but if you are I found some reinforcement on my present solution. PS: The linear background design has pixel shading issues on my monitor... just me?

This seems like a bad cable issue to me... But that's a guess. It's like one of the pins in your cable is bent. Did ya check that?

There's Advanced Config files to load to get around these problems. Most (if not all) systems you use are represented. Go to Advanced Config -> Emulator ## -> Load Config

If that did happen, a whois portal would be cool! You could put your avatar and member info in the login portal after you sign in, and a chat link if a forum member is in chat. That would be fab!!

I've spent enough time in the QJ and Maxconsole forum to know what you mean! I'm so glad it's not a flame fest here, and no question is a stupid question. That's why I came here to get answers for my emulator related questions instead of going somewhere else. It really is a great community, and that's half the reason I love it here so much. Too bad you can't really sell that!
