  1. You're trying to mount a virtual drive like this? I don't think this field accepts your arguments. Wouldn't a bat file or a wrapper do the job more efficiently? I've personally never tried your method, but I don't think you can pass the [ROMName] and [ROMPath] variables in this field.
  2. Sure, why not? Maybe it's because GameEx can't initialize the sound card without a device connected, or Vista can't... You have speakers connected and this only happens when you unhook the USB headphones? That is bizarre, and it sounds like an OS conflict to me. You *do* have a sound card installed, right?
  3. Call me a noob for not reading the thread, but... Did you use clrMAMEpro to verify your sets? I'm willing to place a wager on this being a CHD problem as opposed to a ROM set problem.
  4. Best way I know of is to run a desktop recorder like FFDShow or DivX and record the game by hand. I guess I never thought to try adding video snaps to my PC games as external apps since I use them in a section I made for PC Games under the Emulated Games submenu, but I don't see why it wouldn't work...
  5. Well... I tried this a while ago (back whan it was in beta) and I had issues with it. Seems a lot has changed since then, so I suppose it's time to give it another go around. Any last minute tips before I get started? Also, is this hooked in to MAME's tab menu or no? I figured it may be since I used HK's patcher to compile MAME (HUGE props on that too HK! You're the man!!) I have ZiNc and M2 and all my emus working great, so now it's time to tinker with some eye candy, since I'm out of 'under the hood' things to play with... Heheh! Only took me two years to get it just the way I want it. I almost want to break things again on purpose... Or perhaps it's time to look into LEDs for my buttons. Only time (and the guarantee the old lady will push me off into the basement) will tell.

    2 Problems

You may be right there. I really have no idea! I thought all that stuff was the same at one time...
  7. Well for me it was a GL problem. I switched to D3D and everything is just peachy now. Thanks! Works great as far as I can tell.

    2 Problems

I agree with Ben. A plugin would be the best way to go. You know any C++? I think you can code in VB too...
  9. That and the fact we're arguing about the definition makes us nerds!
  10. I am actually using an ATI card, so I may switch back to D3D for the time being. I'll see if that helps any. I currently have sound.znc and Renderer_GL2.znc from the zip in the ZiNc directory, and the new (modified) dll's in the ePSXe plugin directory. We'll see how it goes.
  11. Say Nolo... I upgraded to your recent package and followed the walk-thru as besty I could. I only have a quick question: After configuring the sound.znc and Renderer_GL2.znc in ePSXe, do I re-rename them and move them back to the ZiNc directory I ganked them from... Or do I leave them in the ePSXe plugins directory as dlls? I use pSX no ePSXe, so I guess I'm a noob in that area. Anyways, that's where you lost me. I can't get some games to load and I suspect this might be why.
  12. Ha! Mr. Driller is the shiznit! Anyone who plays it knows how addictive it can be! Funny though, I never pictured Nolo as a redneck skinhead... Of course I've never met him but I always figured he was a muscle head with nerd tendencies. As for your desire to get every last game working, I can understand that! The KN1 games were my mission the first time I set this up too. After updating my MAME set and seeing there's some games that need attention, I had to get back on it with the new tools. and I WILL get every damn last game to run! That's what this hobby is all about, right!
  13. Trust me Tom, sometimes I wish I was too! However, I don't think I could deal with two six year old boys on my own, not to mention having an ex who's a probation officer, and I guess she's good to me. Just need to find that magic potion where she won't hate video games anymore... But then what would she bitch about? He he he!
  14. I got a new 8 gig Memory Stick Pro Duo and a modded PS2. Heh heh! Gotta train them women right!
  15. Hey GameEx-ers! Just wanted to say happy holidays, and here's to 50 more years of great GameEx revisions for xmas! Ho ho ho!!! (Not your mom either, the happy kind!)

    Rankings.ini

Heh heh! Love to see new categories! If you need help whipping these up Nologic, you can send me the psd again and I'll throw them together for you. PM me if you want my help.
  17. Did you try and turn off Alpha Blending? Just maybe... Not sure if that will have an effect though.
  18. Works great so far! Nice work Nologic! I'll be testing my CHD games throughout the day and I'll let you know what's goin down.

HAHAHA! Classic! I hate when that happens!
  20. I was really hinting at Nologic there. We tested a wrapper that you put in GameEx's ZiNc path to run games based on special config files. For CHDs we ended up needing to use Joy2Key and a registry hack. The swap comes in when you update the MAME list, since the wrapper won't pass commands to GameEx. You basically had to change it to ZiNc.exe to get the games to appear in the MAME list, and then wrapper was needed to actually run the game. I wasn't sure if he had these files lying around yet... I may have put the files on CHQ back when this was a hot news item. I'll check. .:EDIT:. Yeah I got the files on ConfigHQ. Here's the link.
  21. Man, my heart!! Such pain and achery! The DC is my favorite console!! Ever! However, having done the research I sympathize with Nologic. And TOSEC is crap when it comes to ISOs. Always have been. But I would nut myself if I had 250+ DC games at my disposal!!! I can't even imagine! I would have all the cover and disc scans, and all would be right in the world! Having an actual DC makes me not even want to attempt Chankast... It's too complicated anyways. But a real DC? There is no replacement for that!!!!
  22. It is untidy, but I just amend each name with the disc number. Like for FF7... Mine reads "Final Fantasy VII - Disc 2" and for previews I take one movie and snap from each game, copy it and rename them to include the Disc # as well. It honestly doesn't look that bad. If you really want to do it, you could put only one copy of the game up and rename the disc each time you advance so it only shows one title.
  23. That's not entirely true... I have ZiNc setup to run with the MAME list. It just requires a little swap trick when you update your MAME game list. All my games (including CHDs) run okay. Where there's a will, there's a way. Or should I say, where there's a Nolo, there's a way! Also, the files you're trying to install from CHQ are for standalone ZiNc emulation (as I knew you already knew). These are meant to be used with ZiNc.exe, not the GUI. Heh, I see bknobi already answered that for you though.
  24. Hey Jorge... Please don't report posts to the moderators to get quicker answers. It's not proper nettiquite.
  25. That makes my heart hurt Nologic! Is there a quick rename tool that could, say, compare your PC Games names in the DB and rename the shortcuts accordingly? Sounds easier than it is probably...
