  1. D'oh! I suppose I should get on that eh? Then when I add new sets I don't have to wonder what the hell is wrong with CuteFTP all the sudden. Haha!
  2. Holy awesomesauce Tom! The ebook reader supporting txt files is a great idea! Now if I could get it to come up in-game for my walkthroughs... That would be perfect! Is that even possible? Maybe I can figure out how to code a plugin... Hmmmm...
  3. Keeping porn away from my kids? Awesome! Not for them of course... I heard them laughing and I came downstairs to find my 8 yr old boys playing Custer's Revenge on the cab last weekend... Looks like it's time to really filter what my kids are playing (thank God they didn't find Leisure Suit Larry!) and still be able to keep the adult games for a more grown-up party. Thanks Tom! And Ben! You guys are always one step ahead of my needs.
  4. No joke actually. Any way I could fix this? Is it just my catver.ini that needs replacing?
  5. Dudes... Now that you mention it... When the screensaver runs all my info on the bezel GameEx fabricates is in italian now! Why would that be? I thought I was losing my mind but that's just too much of a coincidence.
  6. Hey ya. For me to get MAME to do what you don't want to do on my widescreen lcd, I had to add it to the command line of MAME. Maybe you have added it in there? Can I see your MAME command line arguments? You can also pass the resolution you want it to use by typing -r WxH or make it do a clean stretch which keeps it from stretching from edge to edge by using this: -cs auto, which is what I use at home. Or, to fill the screen completely, you can pass this argument: -hws to stretch it to full screen, or -nohws to NOT fill the screen and keep your original aspect ratio. Hope that helps Lucas. Haven't seen ya in a while.
  7. Quickest fix is to just download it from his page. I have to do this each time because I have custom bezels that are marked as read-only (I got tired of copying the file back everytime I updated).
  8. So the new Games DB is awesome! I never really paged through it before, but it is very impressive. I'm pretty sure GameEx hooks games based on goodnames or NoIntro names, but is it possible to offer up a link (like an online content button in the list) to make it jump from your game to the appropriate page?Or maybe have GameEx download artwork that may be missing and add them in? It would be hella cool to like click Super Mario Bros on NES and be able to access like box scans, title screens, etc. Maybe even link up to flash videos (where available)? Just curious if it can be done... Seems like a natural fit for GameEx to me! The idea really spawned from seeing that there is some game music for some sets, and I thought how cool would it be to have GameEx download and play the music while you're on the game screen (or stream it rather).
  9. There's a plugin for that... Google Firefox Favicon Plugin.
  10. Milwaukee huh? I love Summerfest and The Eagle's Ballroom! Portage WI here... Just a little bit north of Madison. Cool to see another Wisco native here!!! @ Brian: Woah! You're an Admin here now? I remember when you were just starting out here... Congrats on your promotion bro! You certainly deserve it.
  11. Ahh good. I thought maybe it was a theme related issue. Glad you got it sorted and posted your fix here. It may help others in the future.
  12. Of course I get it. I got it the first time. The reason GameEx behaves like it does is so if you decide to launch the same ROM, you don't have to sit and wait for it to extract again (unless you play a different game in between). When it comes to, say, N64 7z files, it could save almost 15 mins in some cases. I guess I just don't understand why you need this feature at all, unless you're worried about HDD space?
  13. Perhaps, if the Panasonic was a more feature rich product... There's like 10 plugins I couldn't be without (like uTorrent, all-in-one sidebar, built in spell check)... If IE was more plugin friendly I might consider switching back. But it's taken IE forever just to add browsing tabs and Firefox has had that feature forever (just as an example). Like you stated, though... It's more of a matter of preference.
  14. I would love to have this on my cab! Controlling my GameEx from my Moto Q sounds too good to be true!
  15. Why anyone is still using IE is beyond me! I heart my firefox!
  16. Maybe you don't already know this, but next time you launch a game from whatever set, GameEx will delete the contents of that folder before extracting the next set. You don't need to go and do it manually you know.
  17. I do. I use Flash's BlueBalls theme and have no issues. Stretching and forcing resolutions on a theme that's smaller than your display makes crazy stuff happen, like the selection bars won't always line up, snaps won't go where they're supposed to, etc. Especially if you force GameEx to a way higher resolution. Maybe that's what's happening on your machine?

    Website Error

Hey Tom! The referer that points to MAWS on the GameEx page is incorrect. I was playing Battle Toads and clicked on the link which sent me here: http://www.mameworld.net/maws/set/btoads And it should have sent me here intead: http://maws.mameworld.info/maws/set/btoads Just a simple URL change here. Just sub out this referer: http://www.mameworld.net/maws/ with this one instead: http://maws.mameworld.info/maws/ and all should be hunky dory again. Just thought you might like to know.
  19. is hanging around and doing nothing worthwhile!

  20. Yay Circo! Your movies make my cab sparkle! Great to have you on board the GameEx project! :)

  21. Man, your DS projects are awesome! You're the greatest thing to happen to GameEx since Tom and Ben! Did I mention your BlueBalls theme is absolutely AWESOME? ;)

  22. Man, your DS projects are awesome! HK is the greatest thing to happen to GameEx since Tom! :)

  23. Thanks everyone for all your contributions that make my cab such a piece of envy! My relatives spent all day in the basement playing Atari, VP, and MAME, and didn't even realize it was a computer in there. Not to mention how great it really looks with Flash's new theme and zCarl's new intro vids... At one time there were 9 people in line to play and I don't even have a joystick yet (thankfully my Super Joy Box adapter works great for all 4 people playing, and with the addition of the PS2 wireless controllers there's no cords getting tangled up!) They all think I'm some sort of programming genius! Haha... Our little secret. You guys really do make my house the favorite holiday destination, and thanks so much to all the contributers and community of GameEx (and of course Tom) for making it great. Happy holidays and a happy new year to all!
  24. Aww... I still haven't finished ManiacMiner! Haha! Thanks HK! My CycloDS loves ya!
