  1. I have also been having a problem I thought was solved... I'm having issues with MAME again. I wonder if it's not a problem with resolution scaling or something? As you can see, mine says Pac Man, but it shows the NES image since I played that before I booted up in MAME. No idea what gives there.
  2. Hahaha! Awesome! Second apple on the first go! Insert two coins and you can play as Pac Man AND Ms Pac Man at the same time! Use WASD to control Ms. Pac Man.
  3. Ahh... Let me fix my gamercard quick.
  4. This doesn't support CDZ files does it? I used pSX to compress all my ISOs to that format.
  5. Appears to be working now after latest GameEx update. Thanks Tom!!
  6. Did you enable bezels in GameEx? It comes with a default generic bezel just for this very thing.
  7. The image only doesn't show up for me if its a MAME game. Emulators work fine. Maybe that will help isolate the issue? As you can see, I tried Galaga '88 and the Yoshi's Island pic is still up. It is completely a MAME issue, possibly only for those who use a special compiled build? Can anyone using vanilla MAME confirm that? .:EDIT:. The two people using MAME last are confirming this issue for me if you scroll up.
  8. Can't you use Virtual Keys for that? There's a way to send keys through VBA. I can't remember the exact argument... sendKeys maybe?
  9. Are you using the Visual C++ 2010 Runtimes?
  10. That folder you left your bezels in is the one GameEx puts the bezels it generates into. I actually keep my custom designed bezels in the GameEx intall folder (DATA I think it is). If you don't want to see your bezels verwritten you need to change them to read only and manually install updates. You also want to keep your MAME bezels in a different folder than the one you point GameEx at (I use artwork for genuine bezels and artworkgameex for the ones GameEx generates for the screen saver). Any more questions, feel free to ask.
  11. I'm actually not getting pictures at all sadly... Any suggestions?
  12. Yeah, but HK's CP app doesn't pass commands to the emulators, does it? I thought it just more or less ran over the top of the emulator, like the two aren't really "paired", but the CP knows what emu is running and shows basically a picture containing the keys you told it to post for that emulator. It may also look at the game command to determine what game it is, but I didn't think it really sent anything to it. Maybe I'm wrong about that... I never really figured out how to set up his CPWizard to cater to my exact layout (even though I tried a few times)...
  13. So... You would essentially have to use a different "app" for each emulator right? I mean, you could change the keystrokes in each emulator to match the pre-determined ones, but not all emulators allow for this. So the question really is, do you have a way to determine what emulator is running and then assign proper keystrokes to do what you want? You would almost have to make a whole new app for each emulator, and make them uniform across all systems to make it look nice. You're literally talking about at least 50 proggys to cover all the emulators people use here if you wanted to make it look like a standard-issue GameEx dashboard. It would almost be easier to make a plugin that can be configured for each emulator based on what you tell it to send too do these things, and maybe have the user select the features they want to use (like I use screenshot keys alot for instance). Do I have you right?
  14. Thanks a bunch! Love the feature by the way. Can't wait to update all my forum sigs!
  15. No matter what address I use, it seems to stop me at hfc-essentials.n ... I even used my junk mail box as my email and it still won't let me do anything past that n, but I guess both addresses are over 25 chars. Unfortunately, even though I noticed before I hit enter, I tried signing up with my hotmail account this time and it says: "A game card with this user id already exists. Please choose a different user id" Maybe just reset my ID entirely and I can move it over to my hotmail account? I can type that whole thing into the box. .:EDIT: Did you change the char restriction on the password box instead of the email address box? I can use my third email because it's 4 chars less. Just can't get signed up unless I use a different ID entirely since mine is linked to [email protected] instead.
  16. Tom: I hadn't gotten my gamercard for a couple days now. I went and typed in my email to have it resend and I noticed: The email it has me under doesn't fit in the required space (it allows for 25 char when I actually need 27), so it sends to hfc-essentials.n instead of hfc-essentials.net! Any way I can change the email address associated with the gamer tag, since this tag is now linked to a bunk email address? I have a shorter one if need be. Thanks for your help.
  17. +1 for WS support. If he puts out the PSD, I may just do that myself. I get all my snaps and videos from Circo over at emumovies.com and he does a fine job. Well worth the price of admission. You should check it out. Once this theme is done, I would like to see how it looks with zcarl's animated system icons. I bet it would be killer!
  18. I wonder if that's not Tom's crash reporting service? You had a lot of problems with GameEx crashing?
  19. Thanks Headkaze! I wasn't getting any errors on my 32 bit machine after compile before, it just wouldn't run and was missing everything except mame.exe when it was finished. I'm trying this now and I'll get back on with the results. I use your compiler every build, so it means a lot to me that you took the time to fix things. I appreciate it very much. .:EDIT:. Awesome! That did the trick. Thanks a million HK! Great to have my cab back again.
  20. Hey. I'm getting errors trying to compile MAME myself using Headkaze's compiler. Anyone out there willing to upload their latest MAME stable build for me to see if it's just me? MAME sucks without the added features of the custom build (half of my games just sit there on the 'press OK' screen and it's annoying, not to mention loss of High Score support!) Thanks!
  21. No other than. That's how ya do it. You basically have to change some layout stuff for this feature to work (tweak things as they say), but it can be done if you have the time and patience.
  22. Admittedly I don't use CPW because I just can't figure it out entirely. Here's hoping the new interface is easier to use and navigate! Now if I could get HK's compiler to start working properly (I keep on getting an error and the nag screens are absolutely killing me) again I'd be in heaven. You guys are awesome, thanks.
  23. Problem: when I turn GameEx on, it gets stuck between most played and the top navbar (home, view, exit, etc)and won't scroll down to the other options. I don't know why this is happening, but unless I select Most Played and back out, I can't scroll down in the list of choices. Also, when I try to update my MAME game list, it gets stuck at reading listinfo.dat 25%, maxes out my CPU, and doesn't seem to be making any progress. Also, attract mode keeps falling back to the main menu. This may or may not be related to the latest build of MAME which I just created using Headkaze's compiler. I tried rebuilding the exe and it runs fine using the command line. If you guys need it I'll post the log for you.
  24. Ever give any thought to linking pictures and box art within GameEx? Kinda the way WiiTDB does for box and disc images using USB Loader GX? That would really mash things together nicely. Maybe even make it a Registered Users Only feature. It would really be cool to get a ton of use out of the database. If your linking was simplistic, even emulators could put out a call to snag them. Like say Mario Bros was like this: http://www.gamesdb.com/system="nes"/game="Super_Mario_Bros_(U)"/snap="box" Not sure that would even work... Or it could use the header instead of the game name? Maybe I'm just shooting at air here.
  25. Probably not... I haven't been there in a while. I'll go there now. (Happy Birthday bro! I think it's actually tomorrow though). .:EDIT:. Yes, I am registered now.
