I asked for multiple paths in the entry for snaps. That would work just as well IMHO. For now I just use a custom art path for snaps.
-
I'm pretty sure it's alphabetical isn't it? Maybe not...
-
Looks awesome on my Android phone too! Now I can even be here at work! Lucky you guys huh? Really awesome!
-
Yeah more than once. I thought maybe it had something to do with CSMAME but I'm not sure. I really haven't made any other changes besides that. The noobz! ;-)

Hi Tom! Since the big move, I've noticed that my GameEx list isn't filtering the way it should anymore. I have no clones unless better selected but all the clones show up too. I can live with that though. I have No Adult Games and No Mahjong Please selected to filter these out, but they still show up in the list, which means they still show up on the screensaver... Are the filters just not working or did I miss a new menu option somewhere?
-
Couldn't help but notice the Facebook integration too (along with other options). Must have been a complete forum upgrade. Looks awesome!
-
The utility has really tweaked up my rig, that's for sure.

What codec pack are you using? Can you skip manually to the next video, and does it still happen? Are they all the same kind of video encryption?
-
Me too! I've been into OpenBOR for a while, and playin it on my PSP and Wii since they started compiling for them, and the PC since it was just plain old Beats of Rage. It would be awesome to have vids and snaps for these! I'm actually embarassed that I never thought to put this on my cab. It's like it's made for the rig!!! I would start on the Completed Mods if I were making vids. That will keep you busy for a bit. Don't forget the Splatterhouse Trilogy! Anyone wants recommendations, I'd be happy to offer some. My only issue with this is that some mods require specially compiled versions, so you can't just use the same EXE for all PAK files.

^^ Only game he appears as a villian BTW.

3D Models for GameEx
Adultery replied to headkaze's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
These work in GameEx, or they need to be added like the 3d cabs were? -
They changed my life, and without them I wouldn't be where I am today... Tweaking my cabinet in the basement and completely ignoring the pool table. I still remember first playing that game... Never touched the Atari 5200 again after that. Then, Zelda... Ahh don't get me started on that! Anyways, just wanted to give my favorite plumber a shout out. http://mario25th.nintendo.com/

I guess my big worry is that my kids like to see what everyone else is playing, even if this type of thing is awfully rare (I've only seen it once).
-
So I was browsing the GameEx Live! page and I was thinking, maybe it's not a great idea to put up screencaps of videos people may be watching... Over 18?
-
I got it running OK. I just use a different OpenBOR.exe in each folder and rename the EXE to match the game. Then I grouped the emulators together in one big OpenBOR menu. It seems to be working fine, but for whatever reason the name of the game doesn't show on my GamerCard. I'm almost there. .:EDIT:. I decided to give each game it's own folder, and just point GameEx at a folder full of shortcuts instead. That way, when I need to update OpenBOR, I don't have to change the name of the EXE every time. Seems to be working awesomely! For those that use this, make sure you go get MasterDerico's Jennifer mod. It's fricking AWESOME (although not suitable for children)! Jennifer for OpenBOR
-
Sorry to bump an old thread, but I've been using OpenBOR for quite awhile on my PSP. Is there anyone here who uses it on their cab? I was thinking of setting up each game as an emulator and putting them in a group. If I can't get anyone to tell me if it works, I'll just give it a try and report back so others can enjoy this great piece of free side-scroller software.

Muy bueno! Thanks for this frequency! So I need to save it as mame.ini, not vmame.ini right? Just to clarify. -
GameEx NetPlay - Client/Server MAME/Mess

It's gonna be a little while before I can play. @Tom: Can you add my flag to the gamercard? Or would I have to remake it? -
GameEx NetPlay - Client/Server MAME/Mess
Adultery replied to Tom Speirs's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
Latest beta, Windows XP. I can create vanilla MAME's config just fine with command line though so who knows. Maybe someone can post theirs so I can see what is needed in that file and I can make my own? Or can I use the MAME ini and just change it to make this work? -
*stands corrected* I remember having a hell of a time with it. Wish I woulda known that!

Use MESS for Vectrex and the overlays work fine for me. You know, you need to do a vectrex.lay that distinctly points to the overlay you want to use on a per-game basis, and zip all these things together into vectrex.zip and place them in the artwork folder. I'll do an edit from the cab and copy in my vectrex.lay and you can change your file names if need be. Hope that helps ya! .:EDIT:. Here's the lay file you will need... Make your edits and away you go. <?xml version="1.0"?> <mamelayout version="2"> <element name="mine"> <image file="mine.png" /> </element> <view name="Mine Storm (1982)"> <bezel element="mine"> <bounds left="0" top="0" right="3" bottom="4" /> </bezel> <overlay element="mine"> <bounds left="0" top="0" right="3" bottom="4" /> </overlay> <screen index="0"> <bounds left="0" top="0" right="3" bottom="4" /> </screen> </view> <element name="armor"> <image file="armor.png" /> </element> <view name="Armor Attack (1982)"> <bezel element="armor"> <bounds left="0" top="0" right="3" bottom="4" /> </bezel> <overlay element="armor"> <bounds left="0" top="0" right="3" bottom="4" /> </overlay> <screen index="0"> <bounds left="0" top="0" right="3" bottom="4" /> </screen> </view> <element name="bedlam"> <image file="bedlam.png" /> </element> <view name="Bedlam (1983)"> <bezel element="bedlam"> <bounds left="0" top="0" right="3" bottom="4" /> </bezel> <overlay element="bedlam"> <bounds left="0" top="0" right="3" bottom="4" /> </overlay> <screen index="0"> <bounds left="0" top="0" right="3" bottom="4" /> </screen> </view> <element name="berzerk"> <image file="berzerk.png" /> </element> <view name="Berzerk (1982)"> <bezel element="berzerk"> <bounds left="0" top="0" right="3" bottom="4" /> </bezel> <overlay element="berzerk"> <bounds left="0" top="0" right="3" bottom="4" /> </overlay> <screen index="0"> <bounds left="0" top="0" right="3" bottom="4" /> </screen> </view> <element name="blitz"> <image file="blitz.png" /> </element> <view name="Blitz! - GameEx NetPlay - Client/Server MAME/Mess
Adultery replied to Tom Speirs's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
I can't even get this to dump the config file! When I run the vmame.exe -cc command, all I get is an Illegal Operation error. Wish I could get this up and running... -
You know what else would be cool? When I load the game, if there's game music for it, maybe that music could play on the game info screen while reading the BIO and looking at boxes and carts instead of launching the visualizer. I guess that was what I was expecting to happen. .:EDIT:. I see the snaps for MAME on my Gamercard still aren't showing up, although the artwork is indeed correct on my GameEx Live! entry. Unusual? .:EDIT #2:. I thought it was only for vertical games, but I guess it seems to be only a select few games that don't display images. I tried Pac-Man (no luck there), but TMNT, Jackal, and Burger Time all display snaps, so now I'm just plain confused. *shrugs*
-
I really dig this (and the other) new features you've added Tom! I have just one suggestion... Can you make multiple paths for Snaps and Video previews (like C:/Emulators/NES/Videos;C:/Emulators/NES/Snaps)? It would be nice if I could keep them in separate folders and the snap img would show up for the games I don't have videos for. I'm currently using a Custom Art Path for the snaps, but it would really make things easier for me.
