Have you tried auditing the ROMs using clrMAMEpro? That might help?

Although MAP files don't pass arguments to the command line, you can set them up as seperate emulators and group them so they all share the same list/category when you select a ROM. At least that seems like a good workaround, especially if you keep the ROMs in seperate folders already.

I leave mine on attract for days at a time and GameEx jumps right back for me too. You should post a log so we can have a lookie-look.

On my third gen cab now... It used to be a Deer Hunting USA cabinet, and my first was an old beat down NBA Jam cabinet. The second was an old Donkey Kong cocktail. The guy I get them from was very generous (he says they just pile em up and burn em all once a year, hundreds at a time! Sad I know!). Came with the coin door, all the keys, the board, and a working monitor. They also specialize in arcade games in the Wisconsin Dells so he is always willing to supply buttons too. I ditched the guts and the monitor in favor of mounting my own wide screen LCD, and I still use four Playstation wireless controllers instead of a c-panel (someday soon I'll look into wiring controllers... It seems intimidating though!). I used GameEx on a PC for a loooong time before I totally committed myself to this project though... Even my previous two cabinets were only set up to use GameEx and MAME. The new one I actually like looking at has a lot more beef under the lid.

You should be able to start a game by selecting it where you usually do, and in the options list there it should say 'start netplay' or something to that effect. The screen you're looking at will only list games other users have started.

Doesn't GameEx pass the bezel argument? I would disable the GameEx bezel in advanced config, and then pass the -noka perrimeter to MAME so it fits the whole screen. That's what I do with my 19" in my upright cabinet to make it fill the screen... of course I like the bezel becausee it doesn't mutilate the game too much. You can also make your own black bezel if it suits you, or use the widthXheight@refreshrate command line like was mentioned earlier in the Advanced MAME Options with -noka to stretch it all the way out. Hope that helps out!

Your story is the same as mine right down to Nesticle! Funny what you learn about people along the way. Only difference was that GameEx made me want to create my own cabinet. I've had a hell of a time getting GameEx going when I first started, but everyone guided me all the way. *I remember when I just couldn't get command-line perameters right! C:// prompt? Where's that now?* Love the support here, the community here, the contributions here... Tom is a machine! And an evil genius that keeps us hooked on this front-end no mattter what my staition in life is! Mix that up with MAME Compiler to build my own version of MAME customized to my cabinet?, I feel like a pro now (set aside my inability to make CSMAME work)... I can actually offer people advice! How cool is that? And when I get my own LED-lit buttons, you can bet your ass I'll be here fishing for help form you guys! Everytime I pass my cabinet, I really get warm fuzzies thinking about how far we've come together... And it feels pretty damn cool to see my friends salivating over it! Thanks everyone! Hey GameEx gang! I just got done putting some Mario Bros decals on my cab, and I wanted to make a bezel that matches my decals and my marquee, so I put this together for anyone who wants to use it. If you decide to overwrite the one GameEx uses, be sure you set the properties to "read only" so it doesn't get overwritten everytime you update. **EDIT-No longer needed. Here ya go! Enjoy!

Sorry Tom! My cab is all the way over there! I'll edit this post and up my log for you in a minute. I'm on XP Media Center over there by the way. PS: It's not easy to read... GameEx had been running for a while when this log got created. I keep my cab on attract mode for days at a time.

Been an issue for me for some time now (last 4 or 5 builds if I was forced to estimate)... He just did a better job explaining what's happening on my machine. Actually, it's kinda like the mouse cursor is just invisible or behind GameEx instead of over it.

Interesting feature... So GameEx kind of mirrors itself then?

Thanks Tom! Works as it should, but my mouse cursor still doesn't appear on screen (I use the joypad to navigate anyways so no biggie).

From the states and I never notice any lag on downloads... Usually 2m or less for me.

Most likely it's a very minor bug fix to something mentioned above or unmentionable optimization.

Ahh that Battletoads one made me laugh. I remember I threw my game at the wall and shattered it after hitting that level. I STILL can't beat it!
