You pointed GameEx to your handbrake exe I assume? I think this needs to be enabled also but I'm not 100% as that's slated for me to do tomorrow.

Keep in mind when going to have this printed you may run into problems with "copyrighted materials" on your marquee (Staples pissed me off for this reason. Tell me you won't print it and you won't sell me the photo paper and try to ask me a bunch of questions about my machine? Pshaw!). Your best bet is to find a local sign shop or a "mom and pop" print shop to do this for you. The marquee shouldn't be expensive as they charge by square foot. There are places on the net that do it too, but who wants to wait that long? Anyways, it looks sharp! Pretty smooth for a first attempt!

Could you be more specific? Will there be a focus issue where GameEx loses focus when launching the bat file (which is easy enough to work around)? Never used this method for anything so pardon my newbiness.

Considering that this proggy can amend file names and launch external apps, it's not entirely out of the question... It's just a matter of figuring out how to actually get it to name the snap based on the ROM. I wonder if the GameEx plugin system would work for this purpose? Hmm... I can't be the only one with a webcam on my rig?

Hey everyone. I added a webcam to my rig, and I have it set up to basically see whoever is standing in front of it (which will be useful for Skype and what not). What I'm after is possibly having the webcam snap a shot when an emulator launches, as well as setting up a hot key for it so I can take random shots of my friends when they're drunk. I'm looking at using this proggy for this purpose, but I was wondering how I would go about having the webcam snap a shot when someone loads an emulator. I was thinking I may need a bat file for this, but I'm admittedly inexperienced in this area. Maybe I can set up the emulator's sendkeys function to hit the hotkey? What does everyone think?

This may be the same issue I was having with desktop resolution. Please update your GameEx to 11.64 and see if the issue persists, as mine was just resolved this last update.

Wait, so you have only one screen and it does this? Hmm... Anyone ever seen this happen before? I think you need to post your GameEx log after this happens.

I do some of both, creative filter usage and layering/slicing/cropping of existing graphics. I can draw but paper doesn't translate well through the scanner and I'm a sucker for clean lines. I also use the lasso tool a lot. Photoshop and I get along pretty well. That's me anyways. I'd be willing to help you design either if you want it, just let me know what kind of theme you're planning to use. I'm sure Draco would say the same.

If you want MAME to display on both screens you can add the following to the command line: numscreens 2 That tells the EXE to mirror screen 1 to monitor 2 unless it's a multi screen game anyways. If you have it set to show on a secondary monitor in GameEx it will.

Oh ok... Problem #1 is a disclaimer screen. The best way to bypass this is to compile your own MAME version. If this isn't an option for you, Tempest made a proggy that creates a cfg for each MAME game so this screen doesn't pop up. GameEx used to send OK automatically but I've been using a custom compile for so long I'm not sure it's still an option. If it were it would be in the config under 'Advanced MAME Settings' second or third from the top. #2 is related to the new GameExtender features I believe. You can set it up to only show the marquee if that's what you're after. I'll be happy to help with that if you let me know what you want it to show up there.

^^If you update your mame build though, be advised that some game sets will need to be updated as well!

Now that my cab is final I'm ready to make this move as well. It took until. I was satisfied with the controls before I jumped in, but I feel it will be a smooth transition and am looking forward to using this awesome piece of software HK has lovingly put together. So maybe you'll find results that you're looking for there as well.

Not sure I follow... The ROM check for the actual mobo of the game is hanging on you? GameEx shouldn't show any kind of interface for launching attract mode other than the info bezel at the bottom. Can you post your log after this happens?
