I like the system icon idea. Takes a ton of the work out actually. It could work the same way it currently does for the snap not found image, just add an artwork field in the advanced config and add a module to the theme to display it. Maybe the theme module is a bit tougher to pull off, but the bracketed text can already sub out for that country's flag if the roms are in goodname format so it shouldn't be that difficult. But really I have no idea when it comes to the way GameEx handles these procedures.

Maybe not either, I think it's creating the .ico files that'll take the most work. A lot of late nights could be spent on this feature. Honestly though, without the icons it would be a lot of effort to code it in and it could be a while before we actually see the icons. Imagine all the cropping, scaling, etc. Could be fun though!

Wait a sec, if my card doesn't support "what u hear" I can still capture the audio off the sound card? Hmm, sounds to me like thia could help me fill out the "music" section of my emulators! Cool! Thanks Tom!

You can always change the folder gameex calls the 'snap' folder to the one your covers are in. Not perfect but a quick and dirty workaround.

Also on the 3rd page of advanced config, you need to turn off 'zip/7z roms' unless the rom sets are goodmerged.

What theme are you using? There should be an option in the toolbar to change the list view.

It isn't gonna work because GameEx can't initiate the keyboard hook for whatever reason. ESC will only function if GameEx is able to successfully load up. .:edit:. What anti-virus software are you running on the machine in question?

I think we should work on a dll instead of a script, but I don't know if that'll even work. I know the integrated support wrapper works, I still use it on my rig. You just put the wrapper in as the zinc.exe and away you go. Give it a try, if you have the wrapper that is.

It's a long shot, but could you try disabling your antivirus software and/or firewall and try running GameEx again?

No it should just load after about 30 seconds. Gotta be something missing somewhere... like one more piece of the puzzle is still out there somewhere. Try disabling any intro videos you may have running, and if there isn't one try disabling mame support so we can isolate this (or try to).

Joy2key is only called in kn1 games (the chd ones), and the exe for it should be in the folder for that bios. The game list should be a txt file in the archive. That's where the wrapper makes the transition from game to number, as is required by zinc. Cross reference your game by that list. PS: you updated your list and enabled zinc support right? .:edit 2:. If there's no procedure call for joy2key that's not the final version of the wrapper and your kn1 games won't work.

Maybe I'm missing the point entirely here, but... Couldn't you set each system up as it's own emulator yourself and then group them together? Ahh I suppose that wouldn't sort them by system though. Scratch that.

I helped test it, so I could answer some of your questions. It was basically a wrapper that passed a cfg based on the game bios. Each game had it's own cfg, and since chd games didn't work using either plugin it launched joy2key in those instances. It was AutoIT script. I'd be happy to further answer any questions you have about it as best as I can. Seems to me that joy2key should be replaced with the much better xpadder, and the game list may or may not need to be updated. I believe the wrapper also passed data to GameEx to build the ZiNc list.

Love the black comedy! What exactly is the global keyboard hook anyway? Maybe this is the key to figuring out this problem, as I have never noticed this in the log before. Wonder if it has something to do with pressing '0' ingame to temporarily return to GameEx? I noticed this on accident playing Road Rash II the other night. It may have always taken you to the game info screen and I just never noticed it before?

It's too bad nobody recreated this project though, because without his wrapper ZiNc is a pretty worthless emulator. It took a ton of testing to get it just right, and it's cool to hear that it still works as well as it ever did. His work with ZiNc and contributions to GameEx was and will always be greatly appreciated. Glad you got it working massop.

I just rename the cue file and set the rom filter to .cue

In the GameEx program folder, you need to go to the data folder and delete anything that ends in .cache I honestly think it's either your rom filter or rom path. Can you plese post your emulator config? You can export it under 'Advanced Configuration', emulator 1, 3rd option from the top. Then zip the ini and post it to the forum so we can have a look.
