Have you tried setting the cfg path in zinc's config file? It's been awhile since I tried to get zinc running, so admittedly I don't even know if zinc creates a cfg or ini.

I'll even 3rd that opinion. UltraISO does a fantastic job of ripping my psx discs.

Just for the record, it seems to me that setting up my ROMS drive as a shared folder and mapping the drive in Vista on my lappy has been the fastest way to transfer files across my LAN. TeamViewer's VNC capabilities don't seem to do what I was hoping, and it's more complicated to set up. Plus it seems I only get 3 MBPS on that, whereas I get 15 MBPS using a mapped network drive. However, doing remote maintenance on the machine is working wonderfully using this app, and I'm glad I found it. Thanks everyone!

It's kinda silly that I would even ask this, but... I mapped my network drive in Vista to get a better transfer rate for big files (it's pushing around 15MB per second, which is more than adequate). However, now when I fire up GameEx, the audio stutters for a second when it plays the intro sound. Is this something that is unique to my machine, or is it something else? I just thought it was a bit unusual so I thought I'd ask. GameEx seems to have no other issues besides this one small thing (which no one will notice anyway as I leave GameEx running on it almost all the time).

Just wanted to add a +1 to this thread. This emulator is easily the best so far for 5200, and I'm glad you told me about it. Slowly MESS is on it's way out, with Bliss being next on the install list, followed by Stella, and ParaJVE for Vectrex. Only thing MESS is emulating on my cab now is Colecovision, and I may replace that if I find something that runs the games better than this. This is why I love this community!

My bios is already 5200.rom... Maybe this was a problem all along? What did you have it at before? I guess that wouldn't make sense anyways since I tried running them as a52 with 5200.rom so theoretically it should have worked. @mesk: Thanks bud!

If you use MagicEngine you can choose 'keyboard' and map additional keys as well as joystick keys. I haven't put this to practice yet, but it's on my short list so I can map save and load state keys in xpadder, and when I looked it over it seems this is indeed doable. You could map a run key to the keyboard and then use SendKeys. I'll try and map some kbd keys and see it it actually works.

It may have just been the game I tried. Dig Dug popped up a CPU crash error when I tried to run it (strangely MESS runs this particular ROM just fine). I'll test further. I tried renaming the previously mentioned ROM after changing the extension to .rom instead of .a52, but again it may just be this ROM. I'll get a set that's not GoodMerged and try again. Could just be that it's time for me to find a NoIntro set.

I use GoodMerge on my A5200 sets, so GameEx extracts them before I launch. This should not be a problem for me. It's next to try and set this up on my machine, as I just finished SSF 0.12 Beta, and I have family coming over today to play. I'll report back if I have any problems. OK, here's my findings. I can now get xpadder to launch in this plugin. However when I try to run Daemon Tools, the image will not mount to the drive. If I put the "Launch Before" and "Launch After" in GameEx, and I put the xpadder command line in the plugin, it works just fine. I have tried copying and pasting the cmd line that works in GameEx into the plugin INI, and I have tried tweaking things as I thought of things to try. No matter, everything works now, and my SSF 0.12 Beta is functioning like a dream now. Thanks a million HK!

Looks nice! I'll be replacing MESS with this tomorrow. Could you save me a minute and post your emulator config? I'll forward it to Tom and we can add it in to the Import Emulator function too (currently all that's there is MESS afaik). While we're on the subject of MESS inferiority, what do you use for Intellevision? MESS won't run games that use the voice chip for me either.

Nah man. That icon folder is for themes, not games. You need to create that folder in your MAME directory, not GameEx.

I use MESS and haven't really encountered any ROMs that don't run correctly, but admittedly I don't play that emulator too much (aside from Popeye and Frogger). If you could provide a list of games that don't run in MESS on your machine, I'd be happy to try them out and see if they work for me or not.

And just to add... you're probably not getting icons for all your games because icons don't exist for all of them in the set you're using. I use a combination of mamu's icons and MAME32's to try and fill in some of those gaps. A couple quick questions: are any of these games that don't show in your list japanese or korean or the like? Are they adult games? Maybe let us know the file name of the roms so we can GamesDB it.

Since I use wireless xbox controllers my key assignments get lost when I run the emu without both controllers being turned on. I can't even begin to tell you how awesome this news is!!! I'm giddy!
