  1. We derail topics faster than Amtrak details train cars. Ohhhhhh... Too soon? Lol!
  2. You need a DAT file for your MAME build that audits your ROMs (not your artwork) and makes sure stuff isn't missing. Point clrMAMEpro at your ROM files and this dat for your version. I suggest you do some googling first to learn how to use this program.
  3. Okay. Your rom set is waaaaaaay out of date, which is what your problem is. You're gonna have to audit these. Use the DAT for MAME version 0.122
  4. TBIM for me... (Too Bad It's Monday) Lol!
  5. Okay. Now what version is your rom set for? How long you had them?
  6. The version number I'm looking for would start with 0.??? unless you're using MAME32 or something. Then the MAME version number is under HELP>ABOUT in the GUI.
  7. Yeah, but if you get it from GGG, it also has a neat steering wheel for driving games: http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=86&products_id=268&zenid=46lrlt7gdpv90c4fffdjefiaa2
  8. In Setup Wizard, under Attract/Screensaver, you can disable the sound it makes when it exits: Play Exit Sound? Y/N Mine only falls back to GameEx if there's a problem with one of the games, or a button is being pressed. You should be able to determine which games are exiting from your log.
  9. Actually I got one! LOL! My brother gave me his. What a nice bloke. I need to buy some more bits for it though!
  10. Jeez, ya lazy bum! Speed it up, will ya? Lol!
  11. It's hard for us to help when you don't offer enough information. Please refer to this thread and follow the instructions on how to post so we can better assist you. This stuff is only gonna make it easier for us as opposed to shooting bears in the dark with a blindfold on. We'll need your full emulator config at the bare minimum, since VP is a bugger to get right.
  12. Pimpin' ain't easy, so go ahead and take the day off. Hope your days a good one bro!
  13. So my wife's birthday was over this past weekend, and she got *me* a present! I still can't believe she managed to find X-Arcade's site and order me something without any help at all! I spent the whole day working on it! Now I'll be gettin hammered tonite and playing bowling til I puke! I have some more trim work to do (especially around the 2nd monitor, you can see the cables through the gap), and I had to move the 2nd monitor up about 4" to accommodate it, but it's playable. Now I have to order an iPac dammit! Using the controller to press start on 3-button games just isn't doing it for me, and I had to get a mounting plate from Suzo-Happ anyways so I ordered a bunch of buttons and put them in already (1p and 2p start, coin buttons, pinball flipper buttons). I'll also have to get a new piece of artwork for the CP, and I'm thinking about hitting up Groovy Game Gear for a spinner and steering wheel attachment. Anyways, here it is in its current state: Who knew bowling and golf could actually be fun??? LOL!
  14. +1 to what Han said about your images maintaining their aspect ratios. Another tip... Hand cropping makes for smoother lines. You'll keep the tricky stuff (like hair which is a real b**ch to get right) nice too without sacrificing image quality. That's me nitpicking though... This really looks fabu! I'm looking forward to the finished product!
  15. First: Okay... Stop thinking like that Han. Any negativity you've attracted was due to negative actions on your part. I suppose we just expect more from you since you know the ropes already. Speaking on illegal activities wasn't OK before, and it isn't now. We have a job to do, and that job involves defining grey areas. You just happened to be the one who exposes them is all. And you tend to stick pretty close to that line. Like Drac said, if you think you shouldn't mention something, don't mention it. Second: Contrary to what you think, no one was trying to be snippy with you. However, understand that we're more or less a community that helps you fix things. If you have something new you want to try, just try it. No offense, but trying to get things "just right" without doing anything first is kind of lazy, as most (if not all) of us learn by trial and error. Then we come to the forum when we get stuck. Maybe someone can help you tweak what you already know... That's where we shine. Saying "I want to try this new thing" and not actually trying it (it almost seems like you want someone else to do the work) is not what we're about here. An example: You made a thread that you were having errors and maybe you should reboot. Then you rebooted and it worked. Honestly it probably took you twice as long to write that post as it did for you to reboot. Try it first, do what you think you need to do, then if it doesn't work ask for help. Rebooting is GameEx 101 (or Computers 101 even). I know you're a smart guy, but why wouldn't you go with your gut first? Just sayin. Third: I'm not sure why you think everyone is out to drive you away. We like to keep everyone happy, within reason. That's not at all what I see when I read your posts, or any of the member responses (believe me, if I don't post in a thread it doesn't mean I don't read it. I'm here several times a day every day). Maybe the problem isn't so much you're not being treated like the rest of us, and more that the HanSolo I know finds problems and fixes them. Lately it almost seems like you don't care to find and fix anything, you'd rather make suggestions and hope someone else tries them before you do. Slow down, take a breath, and it'll be OK. It's nice to have you around man. At the same time, don't expect people to handle your "dirty work" for you. Know what I mean? By the way... Change that yourbook.zip file to yourbook.cbz (cbz=comic book zip) and it'll work fine using most comic book readers.
  16. Could you right click the MAME executable and look and see what the version number is please?
  17. ^+1 on that, although a right-click menu within GameEx isn't a half bad idea.
  18. Well there's a few ways. The method I use is clrMAMEpro. It's a handy little tool that checks your MAME roms and makes sure everything you need is in there for the version you're using. Just download the DAT for your MAME version and do some googling or ask here if you get stuck.
  19. Have you audited your roms?
  20. Okay, some tips: Right click the cfg file and select notepad.exe to open it by default. Locate the line in there celly told you to change. Save it and close it. Open the emulator config in GameEx and copy in the command line Celly gave you. Post back if you still can't get it to work right.
  21. Why are you so dead set against converting these to pdf? It takes the guess work out and it's super easy to do. I convert FAQs to PDF all the time.
  22. Thats not gonna cut it. first things first: go to the folder you installed nullDC in and zip up the emulator's cfg file. Then attach that file to a post. Edit: celly just addressed my hunch with his instructions.
  23. We need a ton more information. Current command line, emulator settings, emulator ini, gameex ini (for starters)...
  24. Ive seem this error, and it was indeed a bad stick. Other programs were also affected though. MemTest helped me diagnose it... I let it go for an overnight to be sure. Hope it's not new RAM!
  25. How about I mark it as [RESOLVED?]
