  1. On the plus side, they make LED monitors in pretty much any size and they're easy to install... Not to mention they look cool and company drools even harder with the extra coolness factor. It makes me kinda sad that more people don't use GameExtender, it's one of the features that set gameex apart.

    Help?

If you liked that theme you can easily change the font. Just open the theme.ini in notepad and change the name of the font, or search the web and install the font you're missing.
  3. I just use ALT+PRTSCR, then open up Paint and press CTRL+V to paste it on to the canvas. Save and done. Unless you have FRAPS, then it's F9 or F10. Can't remember offhand which is snap and which is video.

    Help?

Sad to say, but wrong. Unfortunately it's no longer being updated or included with new installs and a ton of features are missing. Don't worry Brian, it was hard for me to let it go too at first. I rebuilt my cab's guts and when I reinstalled GameEx it was gone. I've grown to love the wiz though. It's quite a bit easier to get around in.

    Help?

We're no longer supporting advanced config, remember! It's either under display options in setup wizard, or it's in your theme's ini (remember the theme.ini overrides GameEx settings).
  6. Sorry it has to come to that, but people know better by now.
  7. Thanks Tom!
  8. You can borrow my N64 if you like.
  9. @Null: I haven't set up cpanelviewer the way I like yet... I'll get back to you on that. I also don't have any computer-based systems on my rig, so I'm afraid I can't help there either. I would probably just map joysticks and use the keyboard if it were me. @Han: Yeah, I use combo keys for Xpadder. There's a lot of controls I'd like to map, so having a 'shift' button is pretty awesome. Xpadder even takes it a step farther and the controller rumbles when I hold the shift button down (great for kids who are more likely to press something inadvertently). The XBOX controllers work like a dream. They're so smooth and flawless I opted to put a second monitor in where my CP goes instead of building a CP. I haven't had a single regret on that. I left space for a spinner and a trackball though, as these will be added later this year. I'll also utilize the iPac to add filpper buttons for pinball. No need to steal Han. I'll release the PSD as soon as I finish up. A shot of it in action if anyone wanted to see how it looks in-game: I <3 GameExtender!
  10. It's because that's a RSS2 feed, I don't think GameEx supports these. I could be wrong however.
  11. Isn't this the same as was available to those of us unlucky enough to have donated? I use PJ64 1.7 already.
  12. I always use the free version. The way I see it, there's a fully capable free version of nearly every piece of useful software, it's just hard to find them sometimes.
  13. Well, Null... You inspired me! I sat down to re-create my controller images. Here's what I came up with (I more or less made it just to fit my cab's theme, and I gotta say, it looks really nice on my 2nd monitor in GameExtender... I use a main one that matches my monitor's resolution and scaled it down for my 2nd monitor, so essentially I have two of every one). Now that the first one is done, I got about 29 more to go. This time around I'll save a PSD for each system so I don't have to recreate the template if I change emus or add extra controls. Anyways... Thanks for the motivation!
  14. Thanks Tom! Bit by the hacker bug?
  15. I use Avast! for my AV on the cab. It works great and definitions are updated everyday. Never had a virus on it, ever. As a matter of fact, all our computers in the house use it and I've never had a problem with any of them. If I fix a client's computer, I recommend this to them also. And it's free.
  16. .:UPDATE:. If I disable "Selection Music" for my emulators it doesn't crash. However I'm still seeing the drop from surround sound to L/R (my center speaker just drops out). Only now it's happening even before the intro music stops playing upon loading. It only happens in GameEx... Gotta be a bug in the audio rendering somewhere. .:UPDATE #2:. Well, I just removed my external USB sound card, setup the on-board 5.1, and the surround is working again. It's still crashing with "Selection Music" though. So consider this one half solved.
  17. That's pretty cool looking! I'm not sure how some of that would transfer though... To be honest you'd be better off recreating your theme, using the current background before trying to build off of it. MaLa and GameEx are different beasts, and the cosmetics (ie lists) will just not function the same way.
  18. That may be a limitation of your onboard graphics card. I'd have to look up the specs to know for sure. Typically onboard graphics just don't get the job done. You can view your gameex log from the utilities folder in the start menu. Just copy and paste it into a post.
  19. Ok, so you can see the video play in the main page, but when you go to that game in the list it only shows a snap instead of the video? We're only talking mame games right? Emulators don't have this problem? Is that game in your favorites list or you saying you can see the video when you mouse over the game in the actual game list? You are sure you have the paths right? Can you try and put the video snaps in the same folder as the static ones and see if they show? Can you post your log please?
  20. FFDshow is part of the Vista codec pack. If you wanted my suggestion, uninstall FFDShow and install Shark007. We can proceed from there. If snaps work and video doesn't it's more likely than not a codec problem. :EDIT: Drac got me on that one! Lol!
  21. Did you get the Shark007 codec pack and install it?
  22. I have I think. I just don't remember much about it! LOL!
  23. Just to chime in, I doubt they took notes from ZiNc, as the goal of mame is to reproduce games faithfully, whereas ZiNc used work arounds to achieve better speeds, which requires some fancy footwork to get it playable. As we already know, mame devs don't like fancy footwork.
  24. Of course you could just change your view to list view, but again theres more things that could pop up down the road than just missing snaps.
  25. Oh man, your problems run deep. You need to update your service pack for DirectX (someone correct me if I'm wrong) and outdated video drivers will continue to be an issue. Unfortunately situations like this are precisely the reason we don't support slim xp installs. As mesk said there are crucial files missing that gameex can't function without. Id be wiling to bet you'll fix gameex, but break other stuff in the process. I'm afraid theres nothing else you can do. I'm actually surprised this is your only problem.
