  1. The fast forward key isn't really what you're looking for here, it's a different function not related to frame skipping if I read your initial post right. It would really be more like a rewind key present in some emulators but opposite. Programming skills or not, what you're asking would require a low level input hook for starters. I would have to agree with the others here, it's kind of a pipe dream, sorry.
  2. As Tom pointed out, this is exactly what QuickLaunch is for. No need to learn BAT file structure, just add your programs and save.
  3. I'll try to help out with your duties while you're gone also, if the work load gets thick. Have fun! Send a postcard!
  4. Ahh yeah my bad. I have indeed been playing with a Linux server. Lol!
  5. Don't forget the quotes: "[RomPath]/[RomFile]"
  6. Updated function logger coming shortly behind this, which includes all the new data and a couple bug fixes I noticed by accident. I will post the update for QuickLaunch in the downloads section and update the accepted variables to include the new data later on in the evening. Thanks again to Tom for all his help on this.
  7. Why would the mdb files cause a conflict for me though? Just unlucky?
  8. I'm not sure why, it just wasn't showing me past the letter c or so. Might have just been a fluke, because MAME was working fine.
  9. Just a quick heads up: I had to manually delete all the emulator .mdb files for the new ones to work properly. Not sure why but there were only a few that were working before I did that, and after deleting the mdb databases all my games have descriptions and categories again.
  10. http://m.instructables.com/id/Fix-the-Red-Ring-of-Deathwithout-towels/
  11. I should try that. It just seemed intimidating at first glance.
  12. I still use pSX, but I may still give this a throw.
  13. I haven't really devoted the time to setting up PinballX for this reason, looking forward to using this utility.
  14. Ahh that's cool. Glad you got it sold! I just received a RROD system for free and fixed it myself.
  15. You would have to put in a feature request.
  16. You can't change the duration
  17. Me too. I've played it all the way through on more than one occasion. Not awesome at it, but it'll be fun to try beating your score.
  18. Me too, for all my isos, but it is worth the space I save using 7-zip.
  19. Ahh I thought it was getting stuck our launching before the mount completes. That post was hard to understand.
  20. Did you try the virtual drive loader plugin? Http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?/topic/12415-[PLUGIN]-Virtual-Drive-Loader#entry99557
  21. Now you're kinda where I'm at. I am working on something but as I said the user would have to do the leg work. And it's gonna be awhile before I put anything out. It is a good idea but it's just going to be a lot of grunt work to get that going. I thought of the exe route (as in setting this exe up as an emulator) but tbh I haven't got the time to maintain the code everytime some settings change in an emulator.
  22. Oh so that is for xbox? I should have researched it more before I posted. :me embarrassed: I might have a project in mind that could work for this, but it would require the user to specify the system for the game themselves.
  23. The middleman supporting a command line would be the ultimate. Then it would be one emulator in GameEx. If it could run headless that would be a huge bonus. I think that request sould be directed to the makers of the middleware if you want a seamless suggestion. Sure a plugin could do this, just don't really see the point with the group's option. No offense.
  24. I wonder if the emulator failed to close gracefully the first time. This happens to me when I use the global exit with NEStopia all the time... The advanced config doesn't seem to send the right key combo for that particular emulator. No big deal though, I'm currently moving a lot of my emulation to UME instead anyways... Now that Ben's MAME compiler can put down a custom compile on it there's not much reason to keep MAME or MESS around separately anymore.
