  1. It helps a lot actually, this way I don't have to sit and try to set this thing up myself. I appreciate your help. I should be able to add something in anyhow. Stay tuned! EDIT: I don't know if it'll support game specific profiles, but I can add support for GameBase itself though.
  2. I haven't set it up on my machine so I don't know how to tie this in. Could you do me a favor? Grab this plugin: http://www.gameex.info/forums/files/file/18-function-logger-gameex-edition/ Under the "Logger Settings", check the option "Log All Activity". Under "Deep Logging Options" select "Log Game Data". Press SAVE and make sure it's enabled in the Plugin Manager. Then go launch three or four games from each of your Gamebase entries. Exit GameEx, and come back here and attach the following two items: The GameEx.ini and the The file located here: GameEx>PLUGINS>Function Logger>Logger.log files (probably best to zip them up). Armed with that data I may be able to initiate support for the Xpadder plugin in Gamebase.
  3. Can you pull the Windows event log for this application crash and see if it helps?
  4. The only thing that makes me nervous is the .ru web address. Lol! I might consider this if it offers a significant advantage, some games stutter a little on my cabinet.
  5. 2) Submit your hi-score Reply to the Hi-Score competition-topic of your game and add the following info: > Your score > Settings used of post #1 (please add this comment as a confirmation you have used the correct settings) > Version of Mame used (Example: Mame 147 compiled) > Screenshot of your hi-score
  6. Don't forget to post your stats too when submitting. There ought to be a way to have the stats for each user so we don't have to type them everytime, like a thread one can go to and see what version of mame, initials one uses for the comp entries (maybe even type one for games specifically being submitted to the comp), etc. It would be much easier to centralize that and just post screen shots in the games thread. Might also ensure I don't get tempted to upload an old score if we got to pick one main set of initials, idk. Just a thought. :-)
  7. It's all good, but you're really missing out on a sick front end.
  8. I haven't, but OTOH 4DO has been good to me so far (although admittedly I don't play this system much).
  9. Man if I could only fathom a way to do a screen cap and automatically upload it to the new FTP server Tom set up automatically, we'd be set. But I'm not sure exactly how I would go about doing that.
  10. I see Tom said you can use 3.0 but that's news to me... I'm unaware of any change in the assembly framework. But it's Tom's baby so he'd know better than I would. My gut says it's 2.0 or bust though.
  11. Well as it says, you need 2.0. The reason being that 2.0 works across all operating systems. Since GameEx relies on that structure to run, no other framework is going to matter. You could install every framework but 2.0 and it's not gonna work.
  12. Are you using a stripped down (or lite) build of Vista? AFAIK .net framework 2.0 should come preloaded with Vista out of the gate. Unless you purposely removed it or whatever, the version that's in there already should be all you need. Maybe you can post a full list of your system specs? There is no reason I'm aware of that it wouldn't work out of the box on a regular Vista install. A list of your system specs would be helpful here.
  13. Did you try using xpadder?
  14. I may just try that if I ever actually get around to buying something off Steam. All my money is tied up in house records on Discogs lately. I've been selling off my old LPs and 45s to buy new records to mix with.
  15. 3) DOSbox.
  16. Best damn day on the planet! W00t!
  17. To be fair, Technos could do no wrong in the NES days. Remember Super Dodge Ball? Crash & The Boys? But yeah, River City Ransom was my absolute favorite NES game, no question
  18. I think you may have missed the air of sarcasm in some of these posts you're referring to. We're here to help, there should never come a time where a user feels he's pushing the limits just because he or she is trying to get the most out of their GameEx experience. No one here has a God complex, or is an elitist, or is above anyone else... We all have to start somewhere. Never be ashamed to ask a question... Someday you'll be the one with the answers. /end soapbox mode
  19. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/combitstudios/river-city-ransom-underground I'm super stoked! And super broke! Hope it reaches its goal!

    Speech Plugin

No problem. If you hit a snag ask away. I'm pretty familiar with the plugin system, maybe I can answer your questions.

    Speech Plugin

not that I'm aware of, but I think the vb.net template is the source code for that plugin if you want to have a go at it.
  22. Well I still have questions, and to be fair, your cab may never be "done" (wait, you mean it can play games too? I never noticed! Haha!). Mine is fully functional, but I never stop messing with it. If the angels sang I missed it, unless by that you mean your friends give you endless props and foam at the mouth when they play it. :-)

I don't think there are any options for that plugin, sorry. :'(
  24. Ahh I see what you did there Nullie! Lol! Happy birthday Krakerman! If you're going put drinking hard tonight, stay away from those taxi cabs that smell like curry and BO. :-)
  25. it doesn't matter if you decide to use your own folder hierarchy. That's just for the bare minimum user default.
