Just as a quick note, if you have my Virtual Drive Loader plugin enabled (as NullPointer mentioned), and you have DTools installed in the default location and you want to mount a SCSI drive, type the following in the command line: ncdz.exe [DTLoader-SCSI]
-
Nope, this is a custom MAME list, like the Trackball games, Horizontal, Vertical, Not Yet Played, etc. Has nothing to do with favorites.
-
It's all about what you guys want, I'm merely the programmer on your project. :-)
-
I like your idea, don't get me wrong. But an ini is brainless both to maintain and use, so a person doesn't need to take the technical steps just to group all the games in a list. Adding a list item might also make people who normally wouldn't participate be more likely to play if it's already part of the GameEx install. "Download this" is easier than "install this, move this, set this up, map this, etc". I could easily add an ini generator to the current db framework, which would take all your efforts out of the equation. It's your thing, I'm not trying to take over or steal your thunder. But don't you think pressing a button and upgrading a zip is so much easier? I could add a button that creates, zips, and uploads the list in a matter of minutes. I could even make a plugin that automatically updated the file so the end user doesn't need to know or do anything at all. The snapper plugin also only works for integrated MAME. Just something to consider.

No, not at all. It's a simple ini file that you can make but it's hooked into MAMEUI outside of GameEx, so it uses that standard. The GameEx implementation is independent of any mame build. It's super easy to make one, and it's easy less work than what Han had already done. I wish I would have thought of it sooner, could have saved a lot of extra work. Just download the ini, point the Mame options at the folder it's in, and you're set. :-)
-
Yeah, basically you can point GameEx at a favorites folder from MAMEUI and it will put that list under the MAME menu. I made a set that splits up by category a long time ago, it's pretty easy to make a list and if you name the icon the same as the list it will also display an icon. I'll find it after school.
-
I didn't want to say anything earlier but Tom is right about MAME32 favorites list support, which is already supported and won't require a map file or for mame to be set up as a separate emulator. When I get home I'll post an example.
-
Don't ask for much, do ya? :-) A side note: GameEx already works well in Windows 8.
-
Just be patient and evolve with us instead. :-)
-
You're welcome, I'm sorry it took so long to add that feature. I'm lazy sometimes.
-
Thanks. :-) The code was already active, I just forgot to mention the toggle combo before. :-)
-
Shark007's codec pack.
-
That really depends on the plugin. In that instance I'll probably add a camera to the visualizer form and a message in one of the entry fields that says "press such and such combo to take a snapshot of your high score".
-
Yeah, I'll be putting out a new version soon to include PinballX plugins, and that one will be packed properly. Sorry about that, I was in a hurry and I didn't verify the zip was packed correctly when I put this version out. :-)
-
Are you sure you're using the current version?
-
Were you able to download it?
-
Hmm, I'll take a look.
-
On a canceling spree today?

If you're interested, you can download the new beta build from here. Here is a list of what's been changed in the latest beta: Added new Plugin Co-Op mode for the forthcoming Game Tagger plugin, which can be enabled and disabled from the plugin configurationFixed font placement issues on several forms that showed up after I added custom font supportHuge update to routines for Game Visualizer "extra fluff", including:Rewrote the routine that displays the control panel during the gameCP viewer now starts and stops cleaner (I will add the fades back in before the official release)Pressing SHIFT+SPACE now hides and/or shows the CP ViewerRewrote the routine that displays the Hi-Score tableHi-Scores now show and quit cleaner (I will add the fades back in before the official release)Initial groundwork for more plugin co-opStarted working on the Weather viewerReplaced the SQLite dll with the proper .NET FW 2.0 version (You can now safely delete the SQLite.Interop.dll file from the PLUGINS folder if you like, I was using a .NET 3.0 dll in a .NET 2.0 environment before, which worked but wasn't ideal obviously... Especially if you didn't have .NET 3.0 installed. I will have Tom remove the old file and update the other dll when I release the official update, as that was specific to the CPU architecture and isn't needed in earlier framework builds).Attract Mode Info viewer got a pretty hefty tune-upCleaned up a LOT of code and removed some redundancies: I have been working hard to make this code as efficient as I can by rewriting several blocks, going through things a class at a time.Big optimization update to the Last.FM utility, also added result error logging to the mixLots of other stuff I probably forgot to mentionStill to come before the release is official: Hi-Score Snaper Co-OpVirtual Drive Loader Co-OpI need to fix a layering issue where the MAME controls are on top of the Hi-Score table, which shouldn't be a big dealAdd a custom skin to the weather viewer and the Game Tagger viewer displayCustom transparency settings: This will be a section in the configuration menu, probably utilizing sliders for you to make the adjustment to the levels until you find that which suits youFinish up the FAQ viewer (which is close, I just get sidetracked too easy I suppose)Lots and lots more optimizing (there's a lot of code I need to comb through still)There will probably be more, this is just what I thought of while I uploaded this. So enough reading, go get it! The preferred method is to use the DracLabs Plugin Downloader Software... Just one button and you're done.
-
Like how do you mean check? Did you install one? Can you see mp4 movies on your machine outside of GameEx? As Draco pointed out, we need the whole log. Also, post your runitgame.bat contents as was asked for earlier. Help us help you... Read the how to ask for help thread or we're gonna get nowhere fast asking the same questions over abd over.
-
GameEx supports mp4 as long as you have the proper codecs installed on your machine.
-
I like this game! I'll be getting involved on this one, although it's been a while since I played it. :-)
-
If there's not there should be. :-)
-
You do some pretty stellar work there, gStAv!
-
Damn, must be packed incorrectly, there's only supposed to be the one in the subdirectory. I'll fix that. :-)
