Yeah I think it's a bug exclusive to the control panel viewer perhaps, that creepy in when I rewrote it. Give me a bit I'll see what I can see.
-
I will get to this tonight, thanks for your help and patience. :-)
-
Why not just disable it for those particular emulators until I figure it out? I just haven't had time, but I will get to it, I promise. Probably tomorrow evening.
-
It was crashing before so I made it retry three times. I figured out why it was doing that and fixed it. :-)
-
Oh my fault, I thought you wanted to link your tag to your user page in GameEx live. :-)
-
Yes, download it and set up the values manually in the Emulator Setup section. You can set up just about any emulator under the sun, you don't have to download and install it from the Emulator Setup section. Just select a blank spot and fill in the blanks. :-)

That's because doing it from a BAT file or script isn't gonna let GameEx monitor the correct program (GameEx will not be monitoring programs that you launch from your script). You need to create your own Advanced Config and put DEmul exe in the Process Wait tab so GameEx knows to close it.

It's OK, was just teasing.

Damn that's a new one on me... Go ahead and delete that file. I'll fix that problem for the next release. Please stop breaking my stuff! LOL!
-
Ahh shoot, I bet the old version got installed over top. Please download and install this: That will fix the earlier discussed issue too.

Use html tags for the link: < center >< a href=http://yoururlhere.com >< img=http://postyourimagelink.com >< /a >< /center > Take out the spaces though. :-)

I really ought to fix that. :-)

Updated the release, added a Local Copy mode.

OK, so here it is. To use this, simply add the command-line into GameEx's configuration for RunOnStartup. If you add it to RunOnStartupDon'tWait, it won't work because GameEx launches before the file is updated, not reading the proper files. Here's a usage example RunOnStartUp="C:/HiScore Updater/HiScoreUpdater.exe" -type 0 -mappath "C:/GameEx/Map Files/HiScore Competition.map" The way it works is simple. The HiScore Updater calls up the web site and downloads the most recent version of either of these files. It then creates a file in your temp directory, deletes the existing file, and moves the temp file to that location. That's all there is to it! It's a console app, so there's no GUI for this, it must be run from the command line. Here is a list of supported command line arguments: -Type, -UpdateType 0 is for the MAP file 1 is for the MAMEUI Favorites file 2 is for Local Copy mode -map, -mappath, -mpath Specify the path to your MAP file, including the file name. Use quotes around the path if your file path has spaces in it. -favorites, -favorite, -favoritespath, -fpath Specify the path to your MAMEUI Faovrites file, including the file name. Use quotes around the path if your file path has spaces in it. -local, -localpath, -lpath Specify the local path to your file. Use quotes around the path if your file path has spaces in it The update type is mandatory, and your path must be specified according to your file type. Notes about using Local Copy Mode: You must specify a location of your local file, and the destination file must be set (ie -fpath or -mpath). An example CL might look something like this: "C:/HiScore Updater/HiScoreUpdater.exe" -type 2 -mpath "C:/GameEx/Map Files/HiScore Competition.map" -lpath "C:/Map Files/MyMapFile.map" Enjoy it. Hope it is useful to you guys. Download it at DracLabs. /Side note @ Han and Gimme: There's also an updated version of the DBM available in the usual place, which generates these files everytime you update the database. I also fixed your bug Han (finally), so you shouldn't be forced to do a retry anymore (the RSS updater shouldn't crash out or retry the update anymore).

I do have a thought, give me a few to work out out and I'll have you test something. :-)
-
I figured out the bug. Go into configuration and disable Game Tagger Co-op. :-)
-
Yeah that's too be expected. The control panel is housed into that viewer. I'll have a look at the code and see if I can figure out why it's crashing after the fade. Probably not a huge mistake but a bug none the less. :-)
-
Yeah, when you disable that do you still have crashes? If so, it's not monitoring keys at all unless the Game Viewer is open, which will eliminate that.
-
Well here's your programatically built MAP file and here's the MAMEUI Favorites file. Next step is the console exe to handle your updating. So far so good... I'll PM you guys with the new version of DBM.
-
@Han: I'll probably add a block to DBM that programmatically creates both a MAP file and a MAMEUI favorites file when you add a new game so you guys can decide what works best for you. Maybe I'll whip up a quick external exe you can add to the "launch on startup" option in GameEx so you don't have to restart GameEx when an update is applied. If I did a plugin, the game list would only be updated after you restart GameEx, but an actual exe with a command-line argument would probably be the best approach here. I can also add an option to the exe to automatically add itself to the "launch on startup" entry in GameEx too so no setup will be necessary. :-) I'm working on this now, stay tuned. :-)

Ahh I know why you're having issues with Quick Launch. It's waiting for the input to be idle and ahk doesn't have a graphical interface. I'll fix that, I'm willing to bet it solves both problems... Or at the very least the ESC problem no doubt. It's a quick fix. :-)
-
The shift+ space combo is only used to hide the cpanel if it's showing... I'll try it when I get back home and see if I have the same problem. I know I'm not crashing on ESC, because I was playing last night. I didn't make any changes to the key captures, so it shouldn't be anything specific to this update. Try a couple things for me, and please enable debug mode in the plugin and post your plugin log instead of the GameEx one: Disable the Game Info viewer in the configuration and press SHIFT+SPACE. Does it still crash? Try and exit an emulator a few times, does it crash still? I'm not altogether convinced it's the plugin because it is working on mine, I really think we might still be having issues with QuickLaunch. Let me know if you come up with anything, and please post that debug log for me if you can. :-)

Ho. Ly. Shiz! Did it take you an hour to type all that? Hahaha!
