  1. @NP: Mine is installed in the default location and I don't have any permissions issues. But I have UAC disabled on my rig.
  2. Mine looks like his NP, and mine works. I don't have all that extra stuff, and there's no confirmation in my log either.
  3. Damn KRC, you keep it real. I wish I had access to your ROM sets, my system would be majorly pimpin.
  4. Honestly, I just add stuff as I think of it. The fact that others can benefit from it just drives me to do more. Thanks to feature requests, there's always a renewed interest in my modest little plugin. If I didn't have dual monitors on my own rig, I never would have gotten into this plugin in the first place. It's funny how much you can learn when it benefits you in the long run... Before GameEx came along I was a .NET hacker at best. Thanks to Tom, I have learned a lot about coding, and I can do just about anything I want to... Next I need to learn how to code in DirectX.
  5. For now just Arcadia, but I'm working on adding a few more. I only set up that one for plugin development purposes, I needed to see how GameEx handles that system and populates the ROM list for game specific settings in the Xpadder plugin.
  6. Dolphin works great actually, at least on my rig. I just don't use it because I don't have a WiiMote attached to the cab. Nope, you can make it play WiiWare and VC games also, my list only has games that use standard controls (or are compatible with the Classic controller) which I have mapped to my 360 controller via Xpadder.
  7. I don't know what that means. All I did was enable it in GameEx, I didn't make any sort of additional changes or set up any MAP files or scripts.
  8. Nice! loving that stool! Here's mine:
  9. Jeez, I have several systems installed so far. Not sure what they all are, I'll try and take a shot here: Installed and working: Steam GameBase SNES NES N64 WiiWare Game Cube 2600 5200 7800 GB Advance GB Color GB DS Saturn Sega CD MAME 3DO PSP Game Gear VPinMAME Future Pinball Dreamcast Intellivision Coleco Vision TG16 PC Engine Taito Type X Homebrew Windows Games (ie Streets Of Rage Remake, etc) Windows PC Games (ie Street Fighter 4, Bejeweled, 7 Wonders, Sim Golf, etc) Flash Games OpenBOR GameEx Arcade Installed and working but currently disabled: Wii Neo Geo Pocket Neo Geo Pocket Color Atari Lynx TG16 CD Daphne To Do List: More GameBase systems Neo Geo CD WonderSwan Color WonderSwan Virtual Boy PC-10 (outside of MAME) There might be more, these are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
  10. So for Demul, do you have GameEx's Roms In Zip/7Zip/RAR option turned on under that emulator's advanced config? If you're trying to pass the zip file, turn that option off. Not sure why you have so much trouble with Steam. I installed it and have it run when Windows starts and it just works for me... That was the easiest one of all for me as far as setup works. :'(

Very nice app nullPointer! Fantastic work, as is everything you do.
  12. It doesn't have a mame preference, not sure where you get that from. You're not using integrated MAME support if you're only seeing ROM names, you're doing everything the hard way.... You have much to learn grasshopper. PS: I don't use that theme, I use MegaMAME. I forgot my miserable first attempt at a theme, thanks a lot bub.
  13. HUGE GAME INFO UPDATE! Just way too much to even list in this little space. Get it from here: http://www.gameex.info/forums/files/file/16-game-info

  14. ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE update here! It took me over an hour just to type out the list of new features, and I probably forgot some of them since there have been several betas since I started adding in the new stuff. You can download the new version from here or grab the DracLabs Plugin Downloader. Needless to say, this is a pretty fabulous set of new stuff to play with. Enjoy! 15. Fixed the download in the portal, removed the old version that I accidentally zipped up in there. All should be fixed now.
  16. 1. The easy way: use the installer to do the initial install, and update your emulators yourself. If you have several cabinets already, this should be easy for you to do right? Go get the updated version and overwrite the old version with the new one. The harder (but my preferred) way: Set up the emulator manually from jump. I don't personally use the "let GameEx install it" option, I like full control of everything and I prefer to set all my paths manually. I'm more than happy to help with that. 2. Install Steam. Enable Steam in GameEx. The rest is automatic. You really shoudn't be having this much trouble with that feature. Hell, even I can do it! 3. I'm not sure I understand what you're asking here, you want single games on your main list as o[[psed to emulators? Custom Menus is more advanced, let's get a handle on the basics first mate.
  17. Why not just use Headkaze's MAME Compiler and vanilla MAME? It's super easy to patch up your own version with his awesome tool, his web site has all the instructions and links to ask the patches, including MKChamp's no nag/HiScore patch, which removes all those pesky warnings. Hell, you can even add Direct Input patch of you would rather use Jerry mapper software like Xpadder. You'll be up and running in no time, and you don't need to know any of the technical jargon. You can even optimize it for your CPU quickly and easily! http://headsoft.com.au/index.php?category=mame&page=mc64
  18. That's your call. It doesn't hurt to have both options, but like I said, I'll have to do something about the High Score Snapper utility if you're using a map file and a different emu (not like too many people are using that plugin anyways). I personally don't want to add another emulator to my list if I can avoid it, but that's me.
  19. Damn and I thought I had a shot at this one. :-) I'm never gonna get that banner! Lol!
  20. Yeah I like to think we have a nice little community here. If it wasn't for all of you who come for the front end and stay to share their experiences, we wouldn't be such a great place to start with. Thanks to all of you from all of us on the development team, you make GameEx the great piece of software that it is. :-)
  21. You happen Beaps? :-)
  22. When my kids told me that one they filled the hole with ashes, and you then proceed to kick the polar bear into the ash hole when he goes to take a pea. :-)
  23. Nope, no custom emu needed. :-)
  24. So a Tom walks into a bar. The bartender says "hey Tom, did you know you have a steering wheel in your pants?" Tom says "yeah, it drives me nuts!" :-) Carry on. Nothing to see here. :-)
  25. Yeah, the "technology" to do this has been present for some time, I just forgot about it. @Drac: Yeah, that's still something the user would have to do unfortunately, but AFAIK since the shut down of TG, they're only using default settings now. Here's what a MAME32 INI file looks like basically: [FOLDER_SETTINGS]RootFolderIcon = cust1.icoSubFolderIcon = cust2.ico[Race Track]amspdwyamspdwyabadlandscspring1csprins1csprintcsprint1csprint2csprintfcsprintgcsprintsgrudgeindy500indyheatoffroadoffroadtpitnrunpitnrunaracingbredlin2proughracsgt24hsprint1sprint2sprint2asprint4sprint4asprint8sspring1ssprintssprint1ssprint3ssprintfssprintgssprints[Race 1st P Bike]wgpwgp2wgpjwgpjoywgpjoya[Plane]landgearmlandingtopland[Race (chase view)]acedrvrwbigrunbuggyb1buggyboybuggychlbuggychtcalspedacalspeedcartfurychasehqchasehqjcischeatcontcircSub in GOTM for a category, and Hi-Score Games for another like this: [FOLDER_SETTINGS]RootFolderIcon = cust1.icoSubFolderIcon = cust2.ico[Game Of The Month]arkanoid [HiScore Games]popeye1944...save the INI as HiScore.ini and have a logo in your theme directory called HiScore.png, point the MAME Custom Lists option at the folder it's in, and it works just like any other MAME list. Get the idea?
