If it is rough you don't want to put anything akin to shelf or wallpaper on it as it will look like total crap (unless that is the theme you are going for, which I doubt!). Is it made out of wood or mdf? My guess is that you would be best to consider getting a good sander and start with a rough grade grit to get the paint off and finish it of with a fine grade to smooth it and ready for primer and paint.

Did you try what Frequency suggested here?

Post your gameex.ini please so we can take a look at some of the settings. There may be a missed tweak or two.

It is in the gameex.ini file but we prefer to use the wizard as the "go to" place to make changes for the sake of simplicity.

It is actually pretty easy to setup. What OS are you using? If using Win 7, check this out for creating the initial task schedule. I would think that you should be able to create a simple batch file that will delete the files in the location of your choosing to be run by the schedule task manager. A simple command would be DEL C:\Serviio\Temp\*.xxx (or whatever the full path is to the temp files you wish to delete.

That could be. Once I get everything setup to my liking I will have around maybe 30 emulated systems tops.

Take a look at this link from the Maximus Arcade forum. Appears that the correct command line should be -mount 0, [ROM], where 0 is the first virtual drive, 1 the second, etc.

At this point I would like to see a log file immediately following the attempt to load the theme. Many of us are running the same OS and not encountering this problem.

All sorts of codecs tells me not much at all, I am afraid. I would recommend uninstalling ffdshow and installing either the K-Lite or Sharok007 codec packs for your Windows XP. Unless yo have auto-update disabled for Windows Update, things can change in your windows environment that can break 3rd party programs, codecs, etc.

Are you using any codec packs (Shark007, K-Lite, etc.)? Did you uninstall the old version of ffdshow before installing the new version? What version of Windows are you running? I think it to be premature at this point to blame the GameEx upgrade as the culprit until we get some more answers to these questions and delve a little deeper.

I definitely like it, and much better than the 2600. I would likely use the 800XL or 130XE for my Atari 8-bit images (I tend to be partial to both of these since they were my first and second Atari 8-bit systems and both were used for some extensive game play and to manage my Atari 8-bit BBS back in the day when 2400 BPS was "blazing fast."

I believe you are correct, Alpha. Stu - Try uninstalling Virtual Clone Drive and see if this resolves your error.

Tom requested the log file (indirectly). I wanted a copy of the gameex.ini file - not previously asked for but asked for just the same. Thanks for providing both. I noticed in the log you are running a plugin of your own creation called The Controlinator. Have you tried disabling the plugin, starting GameEx, and test to see if you have the same behavior? Otherwise, I noticed that your mouse and trackball settings are the same as mine, yet I am not encountering the issue that you are. Of course, I am running on version 12.50 of GameEx and it may be worth your while to upgrade to the latest version.

I like the look of the Commodore 64 image better than I do the Atari 2600. In the 2600 image it looks like some of the game character items were just placed for the sake of being there and the flow is more chaotic. I feel more like I am sitting in the midst of a Skittles explosion instead of on the living room floor about to play my favorite 2600 game.
