It may be you are right about it being a bug, however, since you know the behavior, you can work around it to a great degree by not placing it so close the the edge of the background dimensions, and that was the point of my response.

As you are aware, there are some limitations to the Theme Editor. Text fields are not treated the same as image fields. Don't use negative X coordinates (Horizontal) or a Y coordinate (Vertical) that causes part of the field to exceed the max vertical pixels for the background image!

+1 to the suggestion. Since the menu category is highlighted with the selection bar, the <> kinda detracts from the appearance.

All - We have quite a few threads open now or in the recent past where individuals have noted problems with setting up or successfully launching through GameEx those emulators that require Virtual Drive or Daemon Tools Lite. What I am looking for is for someone experienced in setting up these emulators configs and virtual drives to put together some clear, concise documentation as one of the first entries for the "Start to Finish" documentation project. This subject comes up quite often as of late so I figured it would be a good place to start. I know we have the expertise and I know a few names to lean on but would rather see them step up to the plate and help us to put together some good tutorials. Thanks in advance!

I always recommend making a backup of your stuff just in case something happens. However, when GameEx updates or you download and then install, your settings are retained.

I moved a few more posts that were in the [NEWS] GameEx 12.70 thread to this one as it appears that the issues are related. Please report bug and error reports to their own topic and not in the [NEWS] or [RESOLVED] topics so that they will get the prompt notice they deserve.

Before we declare a possible bug, can you confirm that you have access rights to the folder that the .ini is saved to? Also, I am moving this to the General forum where error reporting is preferred.

I probably could have, but you know what, then I would be no better than some of the whiny, donation waiving users that threaten to go to HS or back to MaLa because of XY or Z. While this has been a fun thread, I hope that those that read it also understand the power of the "Contact Us" links on the product sites that you can get action most of the time if you are civil and play it cool with the facts. You may want to try to isolate it to just your MAME games to test it out. It is possible that there may be a limiter as to how many games it can actually draw from the favorites. As Adultery noted, it may be a bug, but if you have quite a few MAME faves, it may help to know if you are seeing quite as many repeats. If not a bug, it may be a feature request to add to the functionality of the settings to randomize and select the loaded emulators from which it pulls the faves from.

You may need to look in the Setup Wizard under the Attract/Screensaver settings and play a bit. It might help to know how you currently have it setup. much depends on if you are only playing from your favorites or from all games available. If you only have 30 games selected as Favorites and the setting is for Favorites only, then it will seem like it is only selecting from 30 games.

Having worked in IT for a while, I have only 3 words to say to avoid most PC-related misery - back-up, Back-Up, BACK-UP!

Those are in there for the demo setup and can be removed without any problems.
