  1. First line of your log.txt file (you know, the one we ALWAYS ask for when you report an issue) tells you what version you have. Also, you can see this in Add/Remove Programs (XP) or Programs & Features (Vista/7). This was fixed a few versions ago. There is an option via Setup Wizard to enable/disable auto downloading. If you cannot find it, update to the latest version (See? The benefits of keeping up to date are manifesting already! ) Your settings will not disappear with regular updates. We recommend keeping your vital files backed up as a general "best practice" for anything PC related. Bottom line: It is only worth what you put into it. Whether it be this forum, your programs, whatever. Things won't automagically fix themselves or improve/add functionality without effort.
  2. Try changing the settings from OnlyWorking=True AllowImperfect=True VerifyRoms=False OnlyRoms=False to OnlyWorking=False AllowImperfect=True VerifyRoms=True OnlyRoms=True You will likely need to update your list again from within GameEx.
  3. Hi Jat and welcome to the forums. I took the liberty of splitting your post out of the thread in the possible event that your issue was not the same. I would rather deal with one person on one thread for this type of thing as it is often the case that while, on the surface, the issue appears the same, it will likely be a little different. First, if you wouldn't mind please provide us with a copy of your log.txt and gameex.ini files so we can get started with helping you to resolve your issue. Thanks!
  4. I haven't much experience with wrappers - is it possible to suppress the desktop view with one? Kinda sux seeing the desktop while the Steam app logon is taking place while loading World of Goo (id 22000).
  5. Glad you were able to find the solution!
  6. The group sales for some of the old PC classics are usually pretty good. I picked up the X-Com series of about 5 games for $14.99. My only complaint is the lack of documentation and trying to remember back 15+ years how to use the game interfaces is a bit of a pain.
  7. Hi Gus - I think it may be possible to do what you are seeking using the emulator group option. However, you may want to start by providing us with a copy of your gameex.ini and log.txt files so we can take a more educated look at the current state of your setup rather than trying to second-guess. Once we have those files we can review and give you more solid advice. Thanks!
  8. Thanks for the assist, Wubble!
  9. More about taskkill can be found here.
  10. Thanks. While I do not use this program I am sure someone can provide instruction/feedback to assist.
  11. Try changing the Launch After command line from tskill xpadder to taskkill xpadder.exe Let us know if that remedies the issue. EDIT: If that does not work, you may need to use the following command line with switches: taskkill /im xpadder.exe /f
  12. That is what I was thinking as well. I am sure that some games are restricted due to user location and that may be part of the process to see where you are. Or Steam had a hiccup.
  13. When I click on the link it redirects to http://store.steampo...heck/app/12140/ - very odd. Even after inputting the age check, http://store.steampowered.com/app/12140/ .
  14. Have you tried using the Search feature in the Setup Wizard? I find it handy for locating most of the items my old brain cannot remember the location. EDIT: Just checked and it is under the Advanced Emulator Configuration for Zip/7Zip/Good Merge Support. Has to be enabled for each emulator.
  15. I went ahead and pinned this topic so those developing wrappers for Steam don't have to hunt for the thread.
  16. 9 times out of 10 we will ask for it so presenting a log file is a recommended best practice.
  17. Did you install both Shark007 codec packs? With 64-bit Windows, both are required and the install order is important - 32-bit codec pack first, then 64-bit. You may need to uninstall and the order, again, is important - 64-bit first followed by 32-bit. You will probably need to restart before reinstalling them. Also, a fresh log file will be needed to continue to investigate.
  18. Are you trying to use GameBase and do you have it enabled in Setup Wizard? As always, when reporting an issue, please provide a copy of your log.txt file, GameEx,ini file, and the config.ini file for whatever emulator you are using so that we can help you faster.
  19. Check your Mame paths in GameEx through setup wizard to confirm that.
  20. First - did you confirm all is running with mameui64 outside of GameEx and configure the paths within the new compiled version? I notice you have it in a different path than your mame32 version, so wonder if there may be some issues with regards to the file paths needed to run properly inside and outside of GameEx.
  21. You can copy your controls over as well as you .ini files from the 32-bit to 54-bit version. The main changes are in the executable to leverage the 64-bit OS and all else is about the same. After compiling, I usually copy the new mameui.,exe into the mame folder and that is about it.
  22. Soon? That's about the best I can give at the moment.
  23. OK, fixed the frame size by altering the resolution to where it fits my screen. Only issue now is seeing my desktop and the Steam app logon.
  24. Can you provide a copy of your gameex.ini and log.txt files please? Thanks!
  25. OMG! You need to make an Angry Mom and Angry Wife one too!
