  1. Do you mean the bombs those "circley" aliens drop? Yup, that's part of the skill. It's a pretty awesome game. Day off tomorrow.. I'm gonna try and get a better score for myself! Updated OP, DB, RSS
  2. You could run 2 versions of GameEx.... Have one version be the LOCAL system, with local games and assets, then a REMOTE version of GameEx to run stuff off the server. OR... if you have an arcade cab, just put the MAME stuff on it locally, and keep the other consoles and stuff remote. EDIT - Nevermind.. 2 version GameEx probably won't work with licensing...
  3. OOOOhhhh dang it you guys! Now you got me thinking about moving my whole setup into my server I built last summer! It would probably be a good idea since the server has redundancy for drive failure.. and I've already lost all my emulating stuff once due to that happening (some of you old folks probably remember when that happened, and one of you fine friends sent me a drive for free to replace it!). I should probably really consideri doing this too because I'm wanting to move away from using my HTPC as much, and devote more time to using Pi boxes because they're silent. Perhaps here in the future I can buy another Pi and dedicate it to a GameEx build, and really get into know how to make it all work with Linux (rather than limit myself to Windows). So for you guys that ARE using a server as storage, and keep the front end local... does keeping artwork/movie assets remote on the server cause any kind of delay? What about loading up games to play? My server runs 4 teamed Intel Gigabit NICs, connecting to a Gigabit Switch, that connects to a Gigabit Wireless Router. The Server->Switch cables are Cat 6 but the Switch->Router and Router->Out is all Cat 5. I'm just curious if it's noticeable. I would imagine there being some form of delay, compared to being 100% local.
  4. Ooooooo wonder what this is..
  5. I'm not familiar with some of these.. do any of them require special controllers? Like Track and Field, does it require floor pads? And Congo Bongo, does it use Congo drums (duh I know it's a platformer)? But seriously, I think I should add an extra rule that games suggested need to be easily playable with standard controls (so we don't get like Star Wars (yoke) or some racing games that need a wheel, or Arkanoid (but I WANT Arkanoid!)).
  6. I've never heard of this game either. Maybe just in passing, but certainly never played it. I hope to get some game time in later this week when I have a day off. Updated OP, DB, RSS
  7. Thanks guys for the eagerness and support by posting new scores! Glad you guys like this one. When I played this on the Atari 800, I always thought those "mines" were "Rocks". Maybe it made it less scary for me? All I remember is the rocket coming up behind you at later stages and you have to time your jump just right. Good times! Updated OP, DB, RSS PS, what do you guys think of that larger marquee image? Since GC typically does them for new games, and he's been sorta AWOL, I had to settle with doing it myself. Adultery has storage set aside for them, but I don't really know how to use it, so I just found a high res marquee through Google, uploaded it to a photo hosting site, and then linked to that. Does the larger image work for you? I think it looks awesome, and it looks like the forum is properly shrinking it to fit too. Just curious.
  8. Heh almost.... GC better watch out! Updated OP, DB, RSS
  9. WOAH!! Nice Job, but you in 3rd place! Updated OP, DB, RSS
  10. Why? This game is epic. Is it because we have no chance of beating our top players? And that takes mad skills to make your score a palindrome. LOL! Updated OP, DB, RSS
  11. Wow, way to upgrade your score before I even have a time to post it! Updated OP, DB, RSS
  12. Must me nice to have money. *grumble* Still, seeing things like this makes me wish more and more that I had skills, and time. I truly want a Pinball Cabinet (and a MAME cabinet too for that matter).
  13. Thanks for the honesty wolfman! Sorry for the delay.. I had to go to bed early Thursday night because of an early work day Friday.. then I ended up feeling really tired and had a migraine so I didn't get a chance to even turn on my computer yesterday, let alone check GameEx. All good now! Updated OP, DB, RSS
  14. I wonder that same thing about a lot of our scores.. but I just chalk it up to me sucking and move on.
  15. On our Atari 800, I used to run this game through twice before I lost all my lives. I wonder if the settings we use makes it that much more difficult. Still, I loved this game back then! Nice update rtkiii! I'm sure EE is shaking in his boots. Updated OP, DB, RSS
  16. LIKE! *did it this way because the LIKE button doesn't show WHO liked it...*
  17. Looks like you made it to level J, where I only made it to I. So you're at least 1 level better than me. Updated OP, DB, RSS
  18. Heh, nice one guys! Glad the gang's still here. Updated OP, DB, RSS
  19. Oh did we have that rule? I don't remember. I can understand why that would be kind of important.. maybe I should change the rules to my thread I created for people to suggest games they want to play.. to say they HAVE to have an in-game table. ANYWAY!! Good job EX! I probably could have done better.. I just wanted to get a score posted so I could create the actual table in the Database Manger program we use, and to have it built for the OP. I'm definitely coming back to this!
  20. Thanks for settling the dispute. Glad we got that all cleared out. So going forward, we still prefer the 1 credit in the machine at a time, but we'll let it slide if the game is safe from storing your score in using continues.
  21. Yeah, that's the one I found... but not "Gekisou Kappa"
  22. Added to the list! I can't find a MAME snap for this game. Are you sure this is the correct name? I found "Gekisou"..
