Nice one, already better than about half of us!! Updated OP, DB, RSS

Figured it'd be PS4 exclusive... I have no clue then, and bow out. I was PS fanboy until 3, then switched to Xbox.

I think I used the wrong one! I used the one for Cancer.. I'm actually Gemini. So does that make my score invalid? Updated OP, DB, RSS

Pew Pew Pew! I forgot all about this game. I was playing on my NESPI I built and saw this. I was going to play it again and just never did. Thanks for reminding me (and us)! Updated OP, DB, RSS

Battle Damage - Unofficial Star Wars Hype Thread
hansolo77 replied to tthurman's topic in Social Club
Wow.. so apparently the new boss doesn't like it when director's go off script. Interesting.. Isn't that pretty much what happened with Rogue One, to the point where they had to re-shoot like 70% of the film? I'm surprised they didn't ask Gareth Edwards to come back and direct this next venture into the standalones. They could also get Steven Spielberg... that'd be wicked. -
Wow very close? Hmm what other games feature characters like Lara on current gen? Head's up, no fair picking current gen I'm a generation behind. If it's a console exclusive, it's probably not Xbox. I recently discovered an Indie game (that's not exclusive) called Cave Story. It features a girl, and happens in caves like Tomb Raider. But I know that's not it, just putting it out there. Would it be Uncharted? If it is.. I think that game was already mentioned...

A little is better than none! Thanks for continuing to try and post scores. Even if you're not #1, you gave it your best. The score is set and will always be here for you to come back and try and beat in the future! Updated OP, DB, RSS

Glad I am no longer a kid - way too tempting.

Maybe I'm just a goodie two shoes, but I would never do something like this. That's just appalling that something like that would even exist. I hope nobody ever tries to pull this "prank" on me. -
Is that something that is spoken over and over again, or something only heard like once, during a cut scene? Sounds like something from a Bugs Bunny cartoon. I'll stab in the dark and say "Tomb Raider"... only because the quote contains the word "she", and Lara is the ultimate female game character.

LEADERBOARD Hi-Score Competition

Any time buddy.. "bring it on!" -
"what will the think of next?"

Welcome back buddy! A lot has changed, but then again, not much really. Project "GameEx Evolution" is still in the works.. it's a new frontend built from the ground up. The old GameEx is still here and going strong. Not sure how long it's been, but me and a few fellow GameEx'rs got together and developed a High Score forum, so that's certainly new and exciting. Let see.. as for the chat room there's never anybody there. In fact, I bet 99% of the people who come here don't even know it exists. Kind of a shame though really, but it seems like people get their chat on here in the Social forum, and then use the GameEx forum for their support base. It works, but I agree.. the chatroom is a ghost town. But anyway, glad to have you back! Look forward to see what new things you can offer the community!

I almost bought one of those, but opted for a Mayflash instead. I think it was down to cost and ease of compatibility. Since I "rebuilt" my NintendoPi, I had envisioned being able to use both Atari joysticks as well as Sega game pads, all of which use DB9 plugs. Through my research though, something convinced me it was the better way to go, and that the Paddle functionality was just something I was going to have to live without. I think it had to do with the 2600 adaptor, while able to work with Paddles, it DIDN'T work with other devices like Sega... on the other hand the Vision Adaptor worked with a BUNCH of systems, but Paddles didn't work... Sega is the system I'm most familiar with, while Atari and Paddles is Dad's generation. I may at one point decide to buy one of those, if just for paddle usage. My NintendoPi has 4 available USB ports after all.

PinKadia! The Ultimate virtual Pinball / Arcade / PC combo cabinet!

Droolz every time! Keep up the great work! -
It's kinda like that post I made a few months ago about.. "what if Atari suddenly crawled out of the woodwork and came out with a new generation console to compete against Microsoft and Sony". Then they announce this, and everybody's waiting on bated breath to see what they're doing... Video Game Renaissance.

"Inverted Volcano".. sounds like a bellybutton outie, or an erect nipple that goes in instead of out! I've not had a chance to come back to this yet again. I'm off tomorrow though, so I might post another score. Gradius is the ONE game I excelled at on my friend's NES. I suck at all the SMB games, to the point where I still suck today trying to play it emulated. But Gradius is my game. The arcade version is really a different beast but the core stuff is still there. To get a good score, you really gotta try and get all the bonus's you can get your grubby hands on. Things like the 5000 point bonus and hidden 1-ups (link) I knew of the NES warps because I found them I think maybe twice the whole time I played when I was younger. But I don't know if they exist in the arcade.. Might be something to try and look for next time I play.

I was reading about this.. apparently it suffers from the same problem as USB adapters do for the Paddle controller. In that, it doesn't work. They say 99% of the games work, and while they may still "run", not having paddle reduces that number. I asked my dad, who owned the Sears model of the 2600, and said that as a BIG Atari fanboy himself, this does NOT entice him in the least to want to guy out and buy one. But then again, he's not interested in anything anymore, other than being pinky whupped by my step mom. I can't even excite him to play those old games even emulated.

So here's my (LATE) entry... I'm off work today, so I spent some time last night researching a bit of strategy for this game. Since I always seem to have difficulty getting past the "bullet" hell section (about 2/3'rds through Stage 1) I wanted to see if I could do anything to help that. I found a good strategy guide here (link) and used it fully. After some trial and error, I was finally able to get a past that part. For the most part, this game pretty close to the NES. Once you get to the 2nd stage, things get interesting. The game screen actually pans with the player, and if you just hold in one direction (up or down) the screen actually rotates itself. So you can clear a lot of room out by going UP at the "top" of the screen and basically be at the bottom. Nice thing to know. Especially when you get up to the Moai stage (by far one of the hardest). I lost my last guy multiple times here. But I did finally manage to get to the next stage before drying by some stupid little ship. I never made it back there, and turned off my computer for lunch. Came back and tried again. For some reason my high scores didn't save. So I started over again (I ignorantly didn't grab a screenshot). This score I'm posting is the highest I've been able to get after lunch (unfortunately I wasn't able to get past the Moai...) Score: 266,100 Initials: HAN Stage: Moai (3) Updated OP, DB, RSS

What systems are running/emulating in your GameEx?
hansolo77 replied to shroud's topic in Social Club
I've got a few games from each system I typically play. A select bunch of favorites. I typically only play those. But it's nice to have a full collection to try something new. With RetroAchievments now a thing, it's even more fun to try and experience new games! -
Bummer, looks like I missed it. Logged into the website to add it to my list, and it says it's $9.99.

What systems are running/emulating in your GameEx?
hansolo77 replied to shroud's topic in Social Club
I've never counted total games, but all of my systems are complete romsets, except for the CD-image based systems. Those are cherry-picked. And SegaCD has another entry in the list that I've set up to use as a direct boot off of my CD drive, so I can play all the legit owned games in their original media. I was going to do the same thing for PSX, but never figured out how to get it to look for data on the CD drive.. the emulator only seemed to want to read images off the hard drive. EDIT - A lot of the computer systems use GameBase, but the other's are all using dedicated emulators or MESS.
