  1. If you create an extra system, the extra system name will change as well. Old mame willstay. You can create custom database as well. That willbe a subset of the main Mame and can be selected via the menu -> lists . Another option would be to create a filter. Add allshooters to the Mame, set for example the 'type' field to Shooters and create a filter on "type"= shooter. This will be availabe in the Lists menu as well (all is in the pinballX manual). I think the database manager manual will also explain filters , groups and custom databases
  2. You can setup a new system called mame shooters (or whatever) and only add the shooters to that database
  3. Start settings.exe and and set system list to enabled. See chapter 4.1.3 of the documentation
  4. I received all parts within a week, but because of health issues, I was only able to spend just 1 hour a day to build and configure it. I made 2 mistakes. When ordered the parts the 980 pro was on sale at amazon and only 30 euro extra than the 970 evo plus. But at the time I realized, the sale was over. But 3300mbps isn't bad for a SSD drive as well. 2nd one was the case. Because it is in my cabinet, I ordered a cheap case. According to the specs, the GPU should fit in it. But was a hell of a job to get the GPU in it. Also the connectors for the leds etc. are all just behind a bracket, that cannot be removed from the case. So I needed to wire all when MB was not in the case and hope that all was fine. Here you see a pic that the back of the GPU is a bit under the case and also the power connector of the card is a bit under the case But spending some time, all fits in the case Next step is replacement of the PC (and monitor) I bought a new W11 pro license (as my W7 and W10 keys didn't work during install) and installed Windows 11 directly on the SSD. Added TeamViewer host and configured that only local could access it. I removed via powershell some bloatware that is directly installed, installed latest drivers for chipset and GPU. And swapped the PC Ok .. my cabinet is on the inside not as nice as some others have, but all is working. I'm glad when I build the PC, that all my components (even external fans) has an external connector so I could easily disconnect everything and connect it again for the new PC. This MB has around 12 external USB ports, so no need for an USB anymore. In the meantime, I also bought a monitor to replace my TV. I bought the LC-Power 39" It is a QHD curved monitor with a refresh rate of 165Hz. I was a bit afraid that a 4K tv would look better than a QHD monitor, but this was the best choice I made. (I should have this done much earlier) The monitor support AMD's freesync. Enabling on TV and in the Nvidia GeForce settings, showed that the tv is also G-Sync compatible : As the back case of the monitor was 'leaning' on my left flipper buttons, it didn't fit well, so I removed the back panel case of the monitor. (Sorry for the blurry pic) I forgot to detach 1 led strip of the back, so that connector is broken now After removing this, the panel is pretty thin and could mount it just above the flippers This gives a better look and feel experience as the flippers on screen are almost on the same place as an physical table As one if the exciters is next to my flipper buttons, it really feels if yo uplay on a real cab Setting up VPX again and re-configured that it should use V-sync, runs almost all the tables at 165FPS I thought that the curve would screw up the playfield, but that's not true. It looks a bit strange as most tables has ramps there, but if you get used to it, it looks pretty awesome. And a huge difference between a TV and a monitor. The viewing angle is much better. Colors are more real and the speed of the ball .. AMAZING ! My old cab had a I7 (7700) in it with a RTX 2070. All the Tables runs on 60HZ, but got a lot of times that I loose the ball out of sight, because it went so fast. I don't have this issue anymore. I'm still in progress to setup everything, but I can play all my VPX tables, DOF is working, SSF is working (noticed that one excitor had a loose cable and fix that too) , PBX setup (setup all new start scripts), Pinemhi is working, Zen FX3 with doflinx is working and Zaccaria pinball is mostly working. The only issue I have now, that one of my cats 'claimed' the glass to close the cab again .... My plan is to make a separate thread to show how I setup my cabinet with all my scripts and running PinballX as a front end
  5. Wow ! Your cabinet looks pretty 'clean' on the inside. Did you build this cab from scratch ? But very good job ! (did the GPU didn't fit, that the card is outside the case ?)
  6. will 43" fit in your cab ? If so, lucky you Mounting not a real issue i guess. Just some wooden slats , to keep the monitor/tv in place
  7. I've never seen these.
  8. That's really odd behaviour. And I'm able to reproduce it. Thanks for letting us know. Will be on our list to be fixed.
  9. Only 2 times ? Ha ! Countless times for me
  10. Open the file in notepad.exe (should be available on all windows versions). Press ctrl+h (=replace) On the search : <hidebackglass>True</hidebackglass> Replace with <hidebackglass>False</hidebackglass> hit replace all save the file
  11. Bought new PC parts, and installed windows 11. My Pinscape controller works fine, but Zaccaria from Steam still has the same issue as when I installed Windows 10 from scratch. So here some screenshots to do the same for Windows 11 Right click on your Windows 11 start button and select Settings From the settings menu , select 'Privacy & security' From the right pane, select 'Windows security' Select the 'Virus & threat protection' Scroll down to 'Ransomware Protection' and click 'Manage ransomware Protection' Toggle the Controlled folder access to ON If you still got UAC enabled, you will receive the following UAC message and click 'Yes' Click on the 'Allow an app Through Controlled Folder access' click on '+ Add an allowed app' Select 'Browse all apps' Navigate to your folder, highlight the executable file and select 'Open' ZaccariaPinball.exe is now added and can write to the users documents directory
  12. Databasemanager doesn't require an installation. It only need files to work. But good that you reinstalled pbx on top! This is because @scutters, @Draco1962, @Tom Speirs, myself and the rest of the GameEx forum user/admins are just friendly people and willing to help. At work people always called me the 'grumpy old guy' but thats because they dont listen if I help them
  13. I know. Must we do a crowdfunding or donations, so you can buy a 240Mhz screen to test all ? I've setup the cab now for 144Hz as it runs smooth as well (and much better than my 60Hz TV !)
  14. @Tom Speirs Hey Tom, sorry to bother you, but setting my monitor to 165HZ causes this issue. Putting it 144HZ will return fine to PBX. There was another post where the monitor refresh rate was set to 240 HZ and PBX didn't show anything Is this something where you can update the playfield function for higher refresh rates or something ?
  15. Did you update pinballx by installing it to c:temp and copy the files to another location ? Or do you have both pinballx(.net core and pinballx vista/xp version) on your pc ? If so, switch in the settings to the other version to get the other databases
  16. See this. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-7-log-files/b1ec2721-d7f9-4cb0-8b26-7292b7bf49a2
  17. Just tried with an application from the menu (where exe is not there yet). Pbx tries to launch it and same behaviour when switching back to pbx
  18. Does it creates an app error eventlog ?
  19. I just setup 1 emulator (99.9% of the tables are vpx) ... give me some days extra to check/install for other emulators as well.
  20. Don't you have the log.txt in the same directory ? this should be created after you launch PinballX for the first time. Did you install .net core 6 (see https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet) and also installed the dependencies for W7 ? see: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/core/install/windows?tabs=net60
  21. Hey guys, I hope someone can help me. background: I switched my PC for a complete new PC in my cab. During the same process. I switched my 40"4k TV to a 39.5" curved QHD monitor. I reinstalled PinballX, but copied to Config files, database files and media files. In the config files, I still have startup and exit scripts, but the files are not there , so they don't do anything. I have 2 issues (And split them into 2 different topics) When Launching PinballX and selecting 1 game, the windows/programs that are open, will appear on top of my loading image/video. Quitting the game and returning to PinballX , and launch another game, the loading video is showed as it should (and all the games after) I had this issue on my previous (w10) cab as well, and use a minimized all script before I started PBX, but without the script I noticed how annoying this is I made a video to show the behaviour 2022-05-17 07-05-30.mp4 All the help will be appreciated PinballX.ini log.txt
  22. I have 2 issues (And split them into 2 different topics) When I start PinballX, my playfield screen (with wheels etc) looks normal, but when I start a game, and close it, the playfield screen has black borders (Looks like the resolution is a bit smaller) I can see the image of the '4th' wheel on the right side. it looks like all is there, but zoomed out. I made a video and 2 photo's. On the video it is hard to see (that's why I added some photo's as well) 2022-05-17 07-05-30.mp4 On first run of PinballX After selecting one game and returning to pinballx (notice the Popeye that is starting on the right, next to POTC) All the help will be appreciated log.txt PinballX.ini
  23. Can you post your log.txt as an attachment?
  24. I normally play just 1 game when launched from pinballx and exit it again, so the rom (if supported) is send to pinemhi. I wasn't that strike 'n spares causes issues when playing multiple games. Maybe ask an author about it. Maybe a s8mple script that fix it I have an idea for ignoring obsolete tables, but let me talk to scutters first
  25. Thanks to @scutters, we have a new release of DBM. Scutters took most (read all ) part of this release as I'm still trying to recover from some health issues. Just a small background how DBM is updated and how the ideas come together, Scutters lives 449 KM away from me (279 miles) and we have created a shared medium where we have the CODE and other stuff for DBM (or PinballX). We communicate about ideas and store them in a notepad document. The notepad contains new features and bugs that are discovered If an idea or new feature is agreed and added to the list for a new release, normally the person who has the idea/feature will work on it. (that 99.9% of the time Scutters ) But this release Scutters took even an idea from the list that I added (without agreement) and code it. So thanks Scutters for this release . As Always, I really appreciate your help with all of this. And as I said multiple times, without you, DBM wasn't so mature as it is now ! Anyway. What did we added/change ? In previous release we added 'InGame' images. So if you have a Video for Backglass, DMD or topper and you have unchecked to 'Hide during game option', you can add a picture media as well. This will switch instantly when you launch a table from the video to the image. And depends on your emulator, it can show your emulator backglass when game is loaded. If you have Mega Links setup for Backglass, DMD or Topper, the same links will be showed now as well if you right click on the InGame image: Media Audit is now also checking the 'InGame' images and will not report them as obsolete The IPDB list now also have teh manufacturer 'OrbitalPin' for some Original Tables If you use System menu in the front end, we also added 'Loading Videos/images' icon (loading videos/images will only be available when using Scutters 'PinballX Loading Video & Image Changer V2'(https://forums.gameex.com/forums/topic/23127-plugin-pinballx-loading-video-image-changer-de-randomiser-v2/ I checked FTP, and for Visual Pinball, filter media on 'Loading' and there are some nice Loading videos : You can also upload your own Loading system video/image It will contain the system name (and your GameEx username) and when others click on the ftp to download it, it will be filtered on the system name : We also included an extra user manual in the installation and will be available in your database manager folder or in your start menu entry : The user manual will shows and explains all the options and features we have and gives a load of examples as well. The Previous manual is renamed to 'Reference Manual', so you can still use it as reference The manual can also be downloaded individually from the Download section on this forum (https://forums.gameex.com/forums/files/file/2539-database-manager-for-pinballx-user-guide/) I'll hope you enjoy this release !
